Chapter 1 - prequel

"You said you never fought a dragon before, but you took it down effortlessly. I actually never imagined that you of all people Mr.Crawford to be that strong?"

The young lady walked closer to Mr.Crawford, he wore a priest's outfit with black hooves that resembled slacks.

"Well yes, Munroe the fire magic I carry is beyond your understanding—it's clear people nowadays lack the proficiency of slaying a normal dragon, even if it's not really a dragon in the first place." The two walked through the patched sunny desert; sandy mounds can be seen miles upon the dry land. Mr.Crawford turned to look at the young woman, she wore a stereotypical mage's hat with a loose pair of robes to endure the heat.

"Why are you even helping me get to the demon realm?" Munroe held her staff tight to her side, she covered her mouth to yawn.

"Well, I'm simply bored.. I guess." Said Mr.crawford, Munroe didn't buy it.

"So… you said that dragon wasn't even a dragon, if it's not well.. a dragon, what can it be?" The girl stopped herself to look at the blue endless sky with empty clouds, sweat would drip from her, in minutes they'd be dry. The heat was very demanding for a person her size; she couldn't catch up to Mr.Crawford though to keep questioning she kept on.

"You gonna answer my question?" Munroe spoke dazily, Crawford would turn back.

"Of course, the type of dragon I killed wasn't even the dragon you'd see today, it was a Wyvern." Crawford would wait for Munroe to keep up, his head looking above—three giant birds looked over the sky; the number went from three to a dozen.

"Mr.Crawford!" Munroe fell to the ground, Crawford stood still observing the flock.

"Careful Munroe, creatures like these in the stilerios continent have high potencies of magic." The birds flew in circles as their silver spooned feathers would drop.

"Don't you think I'd know that?! That's why your here isn't it!" Munroe closed her eyes, Crawford brushed his chin that reach to his balding hair, he would stare for one more time, the dark shadows gave a bit of shade for his skin.

"Should I think—"yes!" Munroe interrupted Crawford talking to himself.

"Kill them! Kill them! Kill them!" Munroe would streak lower as the flock of beards lowered quickly.

"Fine, as a lesson of magic.." Crawford readied his hand in the air in seconds, vibrations rippled through the area, the birds aimed their claws at Munroe and Crawford. "Kill it! Kill it! Kill it!" Munroe lowered again.

"Magic is the essence of this world. That's why, When I was younger I knew I wanted to learn more, that's the reason why I ran." A singular beam of light appeared in his hand.

"Helios." Munroe would stare at Mr.Crawford as he lifted his hand in the air, in seconds multiple beams of light would protrude in the sky in different directions, it was as if everything went quiet in the moment, as if the sky itself darkened so Mr.Crawford could show his magic—magic so perfect it looked as if the goddess of earth bestowed it to him.

As each light followed the flocks of birds—they all dropped dead in the end, each falling to their unlucky demise, the creatures were petrified with open eyes and burnt tongues.

"Well, dinners ready." Crawford would smile at the amazement Munroe had, it's the exact reason he used the spell.

"Guess the only thing you can really say is..—where are my contacts, did they dissolve?" Crawford dropped to the ground to look for his eye contacts, Munroe eyes lowered to confusement, "The hell.." she stared at Mr.crawford one more time.

"This guy… just who is he…?"
