Chapter 1 - The journey started

Story name:the strange underground city

Chapter 1: The journey started

One morning in indiana, 9th of june 1988, a kid found a hole a 3 inch hole and he decided to dig it.but when he dig it after diging it for 5 minutes he found that it is to long like for transporting oxygen in it and he got out of control and fell in it.scientists also discovered it in the same day and they send their drone a city hidden deep beneath the Earth's surface. It was much more advanced than the world above — yet it was abandoned. No bones, no bodies — only the silent city and its strange technology. That mystery puzzled everyone.

The scientists decided to investigate more about the city. The city was invisible to the naked eye — only detectable through technology that didn't even officially exist yet.

When they sent a drone inside again, they found ancient mythological drawings on the walls — signs that the city was both futuristic and tied to forgotten myths.

Realizing the importance of their discovery, they chose to keep it secret from the world.

For three months, they prepared — digging deeper, securing the area, and assembling a special team. Another three months passed finding the right members. Now, the team was ready.

The team members:

Captain: Mike

 Co-captain: El

 Scientist: Dustin

 Helper: Max

 Scientist: Lucas

Captain Mike was a seasoned investigator, respected for countless missions. But behind his strength was sadness — he loved someone who lived dangerously and fearlessly. That someone was El, his closest companion.

El trusted Mike, though she knew he wasn't perfect. She stayed by his side — partly for duty, partly for reasons she kept to herself.

Dustin was one of the best scientists of the era — a genius, but a jokester even in serious situations. He carried deep trauma: during a past experiment, his lab exploded, killing a friend.

Lucas, Dustin's partner and fellow scientist, also survived that explosion. Lucas bore burn scars from the incident, while Dustin escaped unharmed — a fact that haunted them both.

Max, the helper, was tough and serious. She was the team's mechanic, doctor, and caretaker — the backbone of the group.

To complete the team, they recruited two soldiers:

Male soldier: Will

 Female soldier: Evelyn

Both were skilled fighters and survivors. They had recently fought in a brutal battle against the Soviet Union, where only 50 out of 1000 soldiers survived — and they were among the lucky few.

Mike and El were not just teammates — they were childhood friends turned lovers.

Will had a secret crush on Max, though she didn't realize it.

The team prepared for their journey. Before departure, Mike gathered everyone and said:

"Guys, you know this is dangerous. If anything bad happens... I'll sacrifice myself for you."

Everyone laughed and smiled.

"It's not dangerous, you dumb idiot," Dustin joked. "Stop overthinking."

But deep inside, everyone was scared. They just didn't want to show it.

They boarded the machine — more like a massive armored car — that would take them underground. Their mission was supposed to last six months, but they packed enough supplies for a year, just in case.

Mike and El shared a kiss while everyone teased and blushed.

"How are we gonna talk to the surface?" Mike asked. "Walkie-talkies won't work this deep."

"You dummy," Dustin laughed. "We built new ones. They have a super long-range signal!"

After a meal, everyone fell asleep, the machine running on autopilot.

But while everyone slept, something passed by their vehicle — a blur in the dark.

El woke up, startled, and shook Mike.

"Mike, I saw something!"

"It's just your imagination," he mumbled. "Get some sleep. You need it."

Morning arrived.

During breakfast, El again mentioned what she had seen. Everyone teased her.

"It's your imagination!" Lucas laughed.

"And stop calling it a machine — it's a car!"

While they were eating, El turned to Will and Evelyn.

"Can I ask something?" she said.

"Why didn't you two meet us for the past year?"

Will and Evelyn exchanged a glance.

Evelyn answered, "We were coming to meet you... but the Soviet Union attacked. They sent us to fight. Out of 1000 soldiers, only 50 of us made it out alive. But we won. After that, it was too dangerous to travel, so we stayed away."

"Glad you survived," El said warmly.

Everyone smiled, feeling a moment of deep friendship.

But then —

CRACKLE.

The walkie-talkie made a broken, static-filled sound.

Everyone froze.

A broken voice came through:

"We forgot to tell you... there is something dangerous down there... be careful... we didn't have enough time to explain..."

Then — silence.

Everyone stared at each other.

Fear crawled into their hearts.but they saw a kid hiding in the side of hole mike says stop the car they stopped.

El said:its the kid who got missing months ago and how they didn't find him while digging the hole.

Mike said:how he is even alive.but we need to get him with us and they give him water and food

Back at the science facility:

Scientist 1:I maked the sound broken as you said but "Why didn't we tell them about the danger?"Before

Scientist 2: "If we warned them... they would have refused."

Scientist 1: "So you're just sending them to die?"

Scientist 2: "They're strong. They'll survive."
