Chapter one
I grew up in the country side with my grandma "momo come and wash your clothes its smelly "said my grandma with an angry tone .
"Momo when are your parents coming to pick you up or are you abandoned"said the villagers in a mocking tone ,well am used to hearing all that and it doesn't bother me anymore,am happy am with my grandma and I promise to work hard to take us out of the country side to a big Mansion.
I ve always had big dreams since from little and now am 20 and am working towards my dream,my parents abandoned me since wen I was little,my dad remarried when my mum died and his wife maltreated me so grandma took me in and since then grandma has taken full responsibility for me and I plan to repay her that's why I need to work hard.
Months passed and I passed my examinations into a prestigious university in the city but am so sad am leaving my grandma behind but I Know I need to read hard to repay my grandma for taking care of me all this years without complains.
This the first time I received a call from my dad saying"come and stay with me ,your grandma told me you got admitted,I ll surpport you"even though am not happy but I know it will reduce the burden off grandma since my dad agreed to pay my tuition.
I arranged my things and set to the city ,I finally found my father's mansion ,it was so big but since my mum is no more it's no longer my house ,I could only think of the happy moments with my mum in that mansion but she's no more .on arriving I was welcomed by my step mum and sis in an embarrassing way ,all the maids treated me like a slave"sister can you see that you are not welcome in this house ,you are just a country bumpkin with no future "my step sister said"of cos ,if not because we need to exchange her because I can't give my precious daughter to a lame man ,there's no way she will come to this house"my step mother said.
That was when I realized that my dad played a trick on me to come to the sister just to marry a man who can't walk .I felt a sharp pain in my chest ,it was as if I ve been pierced with a poisonous arrow by an enemy
My eyes filled with tears ,I wanted to run but couldn't, suddenly my dad came ,I begged my dad to let me go back but he said"it's actually an honour for you to marry into the Dean's family ,they are the richest in the family it's just that Mr ken is on a wheel chair and your sister Kendall is not born to be a nanny to a man on the wheel".
"So this was your plan all along ,I thought you regret your actions of abandoning me when my mum died but you still want to sell me out for your selfish interest,I will not marry Mr ken ,I refuse to be a substitute to your daughter "I said with tears filled in my eyes ,but I couldn't escape,I was locked up in the room till the day of my wedding.
I spent 3days without eating nor drinking.
On the fourth day my dad came to the room were I was locked and threatened me with the life of my grandma"if you don't want what happened to your mum to happen to your grandma you better marry Mr ken so I will get this billion dollar contract"I was in pain by what my dad said"so you know what happened to my mum ,you killed my mum and now you want to kill grandma ,so am just a bargaining chip for your business right"
I had to agree immediately because grandma is the only family I have left and I can't let anything happen to her .my heart was filled with pain,I never imagined this will happen to me and now my dreams will be cut shit by this blood sucking family .I miss my grandma alot but I don't want her to know about the situation cos she's sick ,she will get worried and her sickness will only get worse.i wish my mum was here to protect me .
I never dreamt of marrying a man I don't love
And now am been forced to marry someone I don't know nor love him ,I feel betrayed and unloved,I was scared cos rumour has it that since his incident,he turned himself to a monster feared by all ,he treats people like trash ,he kills people like ant ,his face is always covered with a mask cos his other face is damaged .
On the day of the wedding I was dressed my sister came in "hello step sister, thank you for been a substitute,you were born to suffer so and be with your monstrous and lame husband,I pray you come out alive that's if you are not dead on the first night"she said,Kendall was a spoilt girl since little,she got away with everything but the painful part was her mum was actually my mother's closest maid before my mum got sick and died then she got pregnant for my dad and my dad married her .I planned to run away but there were too many guards ,my dad made sure the security was tight so I won't escape and now I have to pretend to be my sister Kendall,if this monster of a husband gets to know am not Kendall am definitely going to die ,so this how my life will be ,all dreams crashed ,I can only cry but I know no one is coming to save me ,I have to accept my fate even if it kills me.
