Chapter 9 - OPRS: Chapter 9

When the Empress and Gloriosa arrived at the tavern, it was already bustling with noise. Over a hundred Amazonian women were inside listening to the story, and outside, more Amazonian warriors were lined up, itching to get in.

The tavern's errand boy stood at the door, charging each person a fee. However, it was so crowded inside that some people were too lazy to pay and simply leaned out of the second floor to listen to the story.

As the Empress and Gloriosa arrived, everyone made way, allowing the Empress and her two sisters to enter the tavern.

The atmosphere in the tavern was lively, with almost everyone holding a bottle of wine. Clearly, the proprietress was going to make a fortune today.

The proprietress, Lotus, sat in the VIP seat, not leaving, but holding a bottle of wine, propping her chin on her arm, leaning sideways, and watching the man sitting in the middle, talking eloquently, with an admiring gaze. Her eyes were full of affection.

Though the man was sitting right in the middle, watched by countless Amazonian warriors, he didn't show any stage fright. He spoke eloquently, "The female slave was originally a princess of a certain country. However, the royal family of that country was kind-hearted and didn't want to exploit their people to get the Heavenly Tribute and become a World Government affiliate. Because they didn't have the Heavenly Tribute, they weren't a World Government affiliate, so their country was always very poor. The Marines didn't protect those countries that didn't pay the Heavenly Tribute."

"So, under the constant harassment of pirates, the princess was abducted to Sabaody Archipelago and sold to the Celestial Dragons."

"We mentioned before that this Celestial Dragon was very cruel after being betrayed by his slave wife. He no longer trusted slaves, but he still had those needs. He would change female slaves every day, and then in the morning, he would kill that virgin."

"He continued like this, changing one every day, and after a month, it was finally the princess's turn."

"She wasn't willing to die like that, so she said to the Celestial Dragon, 'Why don't I tell you a story from my hometown? After I finish telling it, we'll sleep together.' The Celestial Dragon, already very irritable and cruel, agreed. So the princess slowly told stories of her hometown..."

"And the first story is called: The Story of the Fisherman and the Fishman."

That's right, he was telling the story of One Thousand and One Nights.

One Thousand and One Nights, though a story from over a thousand years ago, contained philosophical ideas. Its accusations of foolish rulers and dark realities were no less powerful than modern classics. However, after being processed by various religions, it was filled with a lot of boring praise for God. After Alistair removed these elements, the story became concise and powerful. Combined with Alistair's localized narration, the whole story was full of explosive elements.

There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes. In Alistair's story, a thousand Amazonian warriors saw a thousand different stories.

For example, the Empress saw the princess and her identity as a slave, while Sandersonia and Marigold saw their own tragic experiences. Others were moved by the female resonance. As everyone knows, women are particularly resonant in this regard. So many marketing accounts on the internet deliberately set the pace for women. After highlighting the news facts in a female rhythm, it's easy to get reposts and reach targets.

Because of this, when Alistair told the story, all the women present felt it deeply. They truly put themselves in the shoes of female slaves as they listened to the story. When he suddenly stopped at the end of the first story, everyone let out a disappointed sigh. Because it was so uniform, it created a huge wave of sound in the scene, startling everyone.

"Why did you stop? Continue." The Empress, Boa Hancock, stood in the middle of the path made by everyone, unsurprisingly becoming the focus. She crossed her arms, her red dress like fire, her skin exposed in large patches, white and dazzling.

Many Amazonian women looked at her with fervent eyes, covering their chests and shouting, "Empress!"

Hancock remained calm, not even looking at them. She simply looked at Alistair and asked, "Why did you stop?"

"The name of this story is One Thousand and One Nights, and this is just the beginning. The girl kept telling stories, and every morning, she would stop at the most exciting part. So the Celestial Dragon didn't touch her or kill her, but kept her to prepare for the next day's story."

"And she ultimately used these One Thousand and One Nights stories to gain time and opportunities for survival."

"I can't tell you all these stories at once. I'm going to stay on Kuja Island for a while, so I'll leave you with a cliffhanger and some entertainment." He smiled wisely, full of modern arrogance.

"Ah, you're going to stay?" The Empress covered her mouth in surprise.

"You haven't agreed to do this with me yet..." Alistair looked at the blush of joy on the Empress's face and felt a pang in his heart, as if he had overlooked something.

Gloriosa stood behind the Empress, watching him with a smile. She was starting to believe that this guy wasn't really an enemy spy who had infiltrated Kuja Island. A spy with so many flaws would probably die within a few days.

"If that's the case, then stay." The Empress, who had wanted to give him a definitive answer, instantly regained her intelligence and smiled.

The nearby Amazonian warriors were instantly captivated by her smile and shouted in unison, "Empress!"

They both ignored them. Alistair knocked his head in annoyance. He realized he had made another "common sense" mistake. He had thought everyone was too "utilitarian." In reality, this was an agricultural society. Once you moved them, most people would believe you wholeheartedly. Many times, the transformation between villains and heroes in One Piece was just one action that could move them.

Alistair had brought in his modern thinking, looking at the Empress's choice too rationally and calmly, and made another joke.

Clearly, his departure had to be postponed. But that was fine.

He went over it in his mind, then smiled. "My body hasn't fully recovered yet. I'll rest in Amazon Lily for a while."
