Chapter 60 - Legacy of Fire and Shadow

**Twenty Years Later…**

The twin warships cut through the dark vastness of space, banners of the reformed Empire trailing behind them like shimmering comets. The insignia now bore not only the sigil of the Empire but the entwined emblems of a fox and a dragon—symbols of peace born from war, of love forged in fire.

Inside the command ship, two figures stood side by side, watching the holographic projection of a new planet spin before them.

"All scans clear," said Commander Xiao Rui, his white hair caught in the soft glow of the navigation lights. His golden eyes—so much like his father's—shimmered with wisdom and calm power. "But whispers from the last scouting post said something moved underground. Something… old."

"Zerg?" asked Xiao Yue, the younger by mere minutes, but as sharp as a blade in motion. His black hair fell like silk over his shoulders, ruby eyes flicking with intelligence. "They were supposed to be gone."

"Supposed to be," Rui said. Then smirked. "You going to complain if we find something fun?"

Yue snorted. "Not if I get to punch it first."

Outside the ship, the image of Xiao Rui's beast form—an enormous, ethereal **white dragon**—flashed for a moment on the ship's markings. His bond with the ancient bloodline had awakened at sixteen, his power shining as brightly as the stories told of the Marshall himself. But his brother, Xiao Yue, had awakened something rarer: an **all-black fox**, sleek and swift, veiled in shadows and illusions—his mother's lineage, reborn and redefined.

As the two prepared to land, an encrypted message blinked to life on the comms. A private file, only accessible to them.

**Sender: Marshal Sheng Long**

**Subject: For When You Find the Dragon Tombs**

**Message: "You are not just my sons. You are heirs to something older than war. If you find them… listen. And remember—our story was never just ours. The fire runs deeper. The stars are watching."**

Rui and Yue exchanged a look—more than words, deeper than blood.

"Looks like Dad knew this day would come," Rui murmured.

"And he left us a mystery to solve," Yue grinned. "Typical."

They landed on the strange new world under twin suns, where vines wrapped ruins that bore unmistakable dragon scales etched into stone, and the air itself thrummed with a forgotten power.

The age of the Marshal was over.

The age of the sons had begun.

And somewhere deep in the shifting sands of legend… the Dragon Family waited to be reborn.
