Chapter 37 - Trap

Looking at the city walls so close, Karl revealed a cruel smile. He felt that victory was just a giant leap away.

"I don't want you to think, I want me to think." Hiding behind the musketeers, observing the situation, Galen thought to himself, "Rak'zan, you think you're on the second level, but I'm already on the third."

Aha, didn't expect that?

He signaled the soldiers squatting on the inner side of the city wall to get ready. They had been divided into teams of three, with two base soldiers paired with one noble's private soldier. The private soldiers held modified lasso poles.

Originally, when Galen asked them if they knew how to lasso horses, most of the highland soldiers said, "I can do that, it's so easy."

Galen originally thought that the skill of lassoing horses was only possessed by the people of the great Mongolian race. It turned out that people in the highlands, this fertile pasture, also used similar methods to capture wild horses.

So things became simple. He quickly rushed to make a batch of lasso poles that were convenient to use on the city walls, just waiting for the trolls to leap onto the walls.

Rak'zan, as the strongest in this troll team, took the lead in leaping up. The five-meter-high city wall was nothing to him. He squatted down first, then leaped, his thick thighs bursting with powerful force, and then retracted his shield in mid-air, holding it in front of him.

Looking at the troll leader Rak'zan jumping, Omar and Varokal inexplicably remembered the Frog Prince's magical jump to dodge more than a month ago.

The attacking troll soldiers closely followed their overseer Rak'zan, cooperating in pairs. One troll stepped on the back and shoulders of another troll, and also leaped onto the city wall. Some trolls successfully climbed onto the city wall, while some were focused on by the musketeers in mid-air and fell down.

Rak'zan leaped over the city wall, passed through the gap between the musketeers, and stood firmly in the middle of the city wall. He couldn't restrain his excitement and wanted to start a massacre immediately.

"You lowly humans, I will kill you all."

After saying that, he howled to the sky.

" Gah!?"

A lasso pole landed steadily on Rak'zan's neck, pulling Rak'zan into a stumble. It was Fadil's underhanded move, and then Rak'zan was caught off guard and pulled to the edge of the other side of the city wall. Two base soldiers immediately stepped forward to assault him.

The other trolls who leaped onto the city wall one after another were also lassoed in the same way, and then three people besieged one troll.

Galen saw that his mischievous idea was effective, patted his knee, and laughed with a "hehe heh".

Caught off guard, Rak'zan was lassoed. Because of his great strength, he was not pulled down like other trolls, but was dragged on the ground for a few meters. However, he was also filled with shame and anger.

The originally high-spirited Rak'zan, who was preparing to start a massacre, was lassoed like a wild horse. It was simply a great humiliation, unforgivable.

Rak'zan was enraged, bursting out with powerful force, waving his spear, knocking down the two soldiers who were restraining him one by one, and aiming at the nearest Fadil, he was ready to strike with all his strength. There was only one thought in his mind, kill him, kill this human!!

Omar had already noticed Rak'zan. From the moment he took the lead on the city wall, his attention was on him, worried that he would cause a large-scale damage, so he began to approach Rak'zan immediately.

Seeing that Fadil was not his opponent, he immediately accelerated to intercept and support, blocking Rak'zan's spear.

After failing in one strike, the anger in Rak'zan's heart became even stronger, so much so that even if he poured the power of three rivers, it would not be extinguished. The aura on his body became even more fierce, as if a red vortex was forming behind him.

Omar learned about the Beastmaster Rak'zan through the kingdom's wanted information. He was a master level powerhouse of the Witherbark tribe. Through the previous test, he realized that he might not be his opponent alone, so he immediately summoned helpers.

"Karl!"

Varokal, who was supervising the battle on the other side of the city wall, heard his good friend's call and immediately handed over the command of the team to Andrew, the deputy of the original Prince's guard, and turned to support Omar.

Years of friendship made the two cooperate seamlessly, barely blocking Rak'zan's counterattack.

At the beginning, Galen's mischievous operation blocked the first wave of high-spirited trolls, causing heavy casualties to the bewildered trolls.

When the number of trolls leaping onto the city wall exceeded the number of the lasso pole team, the excess trolls made the soldiers on the city wall seem a little inadequate.

At this time, Amor waved his hand towards the gate: "First squad, go."

The remaining hidden soldiers immediately came out several squads, ran all the way from the gate to the city wall, and joined the battle.

First, the two empty guard towers made Rak'zan think that the humans were timid, and then a small number of soldiers were placed on the surface of the city wall, which was more than the deployment of troops when Rak'zan destroyed this mining area last time, but it was far less than the number of trolls, but Rak'zan had the illusion that humans could not beat him, and this time he was bound to win.

A series of mischievous operations successfully made Rak'zan, the troll decision-maker, underestimate the enemy and rush forward without much probing, impulsively leaping onto the city wall, and being met with a head-on blow by the soldiers, one after another like oil droplets dripping into the flames, being burned to ashes.

The musketeers on the city wall continued to suppress the enemy, and the trolls outside the city were still looking for opportunities to climb and jump onto the city wall one after another, and then Galen commanded the squad to go up to meet the enemy.

The battle on the city wall was in full swing, and the battle situation was quite fierce.

Although trolls were occasionally besieged and solved by teams of three soldiers, they then went to besiege the trolls who climbed onto the city wall later.

Until nearly a thousand trolls climbed onto the city wall, the trolls below finally discovered the abnormality.

Their previously injured clansmen had barely recovered their combat power under the treatment of the witch doctors and were preparing to continue to fight, but they found that the human musketeers shooting from the city head were not much.

At first, there were only a few hundred humans on the city wall, and now one-third of their compatriots had gone up. The human soldiers' formation on the city wall had not changed at all, and they were still shooting in an orderly manner, causing considerable casualties to the trolls who climbed the city.

There is a trap!

A troll as strong as Rak'zan immediately took over the command of the troops and ordered the trolls to stop continuing to climb the city wall.

Damn it! I fell for it, these cunning humans.

I was careless. I should have stopped Rak'zan. Not only did he take himself in, but he also took in one-third of the troops. This time, the humans came prepared, but they were not prepared at all.

I knew nothing about the human troop deployment, and only relied on the human nobles' tip-offs to hurriedly gather the young and strong clansmen and directly raided them, and then the highest commander of the troops led the way to climb the city wall without any precautions.

The adjutant was about to shout to the sky, and said in his heart that I am the leader now, and my shoulders can't bear such a big responsibility.

Looking at the other witch doctors looking at him, waiting for the next order, the adjutant was now in a dilemma. Continuing to attack the city was afraid of entering the encirclement and being wiped out, and direct retreat was not possible. Rak'zan was a famous warrior in the tribe. If he did not carry out rescue and retreated directly, he could not escape the title of a coward. Wouldn't the chieftain skin him alive?

Damn it Rak'zan.
