Chapter 38 - .38

"Danielle, be careful."

A dark shadow fell from the sky. Danielle instinctively jumped into her space ability.

The Black Sha Bear paused, raising its paw and looking down in disbelief.

Huh? Where did everyone go?

Zachary saw this and relaxed a little. Danielle peeked her head out from the space and grinned at the others.

It seemed like she had figured out a good way to fight.

Since direct confrontation wasn't working, she decided to try sneak attacks.

Danielle watched the Black Sha Bear's position in the space, waiting for the right moment to strike. Then, she suddenly darted out, aiming for the bear's rear end, and attacked with full force.

Roar! The Black Sha Bear immediately went crazy.

Fei Yang was stunned. If Zachary hadn't pulled him away, he would've been hit by the bear's deadly aura from its eyes.

"Danielle is so ruthless!"

After landing her hit, Danielle felt even more confident in her fighting style.

She disappeared into the air again.

The Black Sha Bear couldn't figure out who was attacking its rear end and turned its fury towards Zachary and Fei Yang.

The pressure on the two of them increased. After Fei Yang released a fire dragon, he watched helplessly as Danielle took out a big hammer and rushed forward.

With a powerful swing, she hit the handle of the knife stuck in the Black Sha Bear's rear end.

Splatter!

Blood started pouring out.

Fei Yang, along with the others, couldn't help but tense up. For some reason, at that moment, they all saw tears in the Black Sha Bear's eyes.

"Roar!"

The bear's angry roar was filled with unwillingness. With a final effort, it collapsed into the pit it had dug.

Its eyes remained wide open, but the murderous aura was gone. The light in its eyes faded, and it died.

Fei Yang, Leng, and the others appeared by the pit. Fei Yang took a deep breath.

"It felt like it was humiliated."

Leng nodded. "This is the first time I've truly felt the power of a space ability. No wonder the captain of the first team has that ability."

Earlier, she couldn't understand why someone with a support ability could be the team leader. Now, she understood. This support ability was nothing like hers— it was terrifying.

Danielle's head popped out of the air. "Is it really dead?"

Zachary jumped into the pit to check. "Yes, it's dead. Come out."

Danielle walked out, grinning proudly.

"It seems hunting beasts is really easy. Too simple!"

Ahem.

Leng coughed twice but said nothing.

Fei Yang, looking a little confused, walked up to Danielle and asked seriously, "Danielle, how did you think of attacking its rear end?"

"Normal people wouldn't do that, right?"

Danielle replied naturally, "That's its weak spot. Where else would I attack?"

Compared to its ears or nose, the rear end was easier.

Fei Yang's eyes widened in realization.

"Danielle, you're amazing! Next time, I'll attack their weak spots too!"

Danielle, seeing his eagerness to learn, couldn't help but feel a bit more motivated to teach.

"I'll tell you, no matter what, the most vulnerable spot is always here."

"If you can't burn it, burn its... well, you know... Oh no, oh no (Why are you covering my mouth!)"

Danielle glared at Zachary with an accusing look. She hadn't finished speaking.

Zachary, with a vein popping on his forehead, sighed. "This is dangerous. We'll talk later, but we need to finish hunting these beasts quickly. The mission deadline is only a month, and if we delay, we'll have to pay a fine."

Danielle, licking her lips in satisfaction, said, "Rain, when we go back, I'll teach you properly."

"Don't worry, Danielle, I'll definitely learn well from you," Rain said seriously.

Zachary rubbed his forehead helplessly. He had a feeling that the upcoming battles would be anything but normal.

Sure enough, with the second Black Sha Bear, he didn't even need to draw its attention; he was just there to rescue people.

Danielle didn't need him; she was busy rescuing Rain.

One was attacking the bear's rear, the other was burning the front. Who could handle that? The roar of the bear nearly shattered the mist.

However, the efficiency was high.

In just a day, they had already killed five Black Sha Bears. At this rate, they would likely complete the mission in less than a week.

In just one day, they had perfectly adapted to the bear's attack patterns.

Zachary had thought they'd need a few days to adjust, but the teamwork was already so seamless.

They put the Black Sha Bear corpses into Danielle's space and walked out of the wasteland area.

Rain was grinning like a flower.

"I've never completed a mission so easily. It's like playing!"

Zachary rolled his eyes. If it weren't for him, that reckless kid would have been dead a dozen times over.

Leng had been watching from the outside, seeing everything clearly.

She was starting to feel more and more like she had chosen the right teammates.

Unfortunately, she could only watch them fight. If anyone was useless here, it was her.
