The day known as "The Blackout"
The day on which rules were rewritten, both humanity and the world were remade, the day humanity entered its new and will maybe their final era, Our final era...
The incident occurred in Iraq, a country located within the center of human civilizations, everything began with reports of 3 people going missing, police searching everywhere for any evidence just to find what logically is the answer but... it would only be considered logical because it is seen with their own eyes and not due to them believing it, they found the missing people, found their bodies to be precise, each of which pierced by many branches of a tree, all in different spots except that they all share the distention of having one branch pierced through their throat, a work of a Devil you may say? Well, it certainly is not a human! Why is that? Well, what made such a crime unbelievable is the fact that even with how badly their bodies are cut, how many organs have been torn, how distorted they looked, and how they lost any human characteristics they had, they are still alive! No matter how much blood they spilled! The amount of blood that kept on dropping was at least ten times that a human can have!
Even while not being able to attain any voice, you could still feel their screams of agony, wishing to die... with such a scene, no one dared to come any close, the police decided to lock the place up until they plan something, but fortunately or... Unfortunately... They didn't need to do that as a few hours later, a dark beam ascends from the tree's peak and as it reached the sky, a massive darker beam descends, both seen from as far as the eye can reach, and as it reached the ground, the whole world turned dark, A... Blackout occurred... No light was spared, for about 13 minutes, the entire world lost sight and when it returned back, people could never see the world as they used to... As the darkness disappeared, a dark entity appeared, with a giant human figure, a colossus figure to be precise, its head holds nothing other than dark abyssal-looking eyes, scars filling every space its body has, with it being so skinny to the point where its viscera is barely being covered and with how visible it is, no bone appears to be intact, but even with how breathtaking its look is, what truly would take your sight are the white wings extended from its back, spread so wide as if they cover the whole sky, when people finally got their vision back, it would have already started, the dark entity or "Umbra" as people call it now, has already destroyed everything in range, It wasn't as you would imagine, it wasn't just attacking everything mindlessly, It was... Determined and filled with hate! Like when I say the word "Grudge" I... I Literally feel that it describes it perfectly! Everything it touches becomes... Dark... It turns everything into nothingness... People crushed so hard to the point where they fuse with the ground, and nothing survived, nothing even had a chance to react... It was... A nightmare...
But... Somehow? This incident didn't just cause that, but, It changed us all, As if... We lost our ability to commit sins?! Humans all over the world, children, adults, or elders no matter where, all became Pure...
As we were trying to figure out what happened, Umbra continued to wipe cities from existence, that's when we decided to immediately adapt, and as such "Union" has been established, the whole world decided to unite, as if every war humans have ever been through wasn't a thing, every human on earth agreed to be a part of it, and as such the plan "Purge" immediately got put into action, it consisted of four main parts:
1- firstly, we had to quarantine Umbra, the plan was to sacrifice the area that Umbra would reach within 7 months and build a barrier isolating that area, which got to be called "Ground zero", surrounded by an area put as safety measures if anything happens to Ground Zero, which is called "Alert zone", we started by gathering every valuable source of energy the world had, gathered scientists from all over the world and within 3 months and almost 70% of the world's energy, we built "Hajiz" which's translated to "Barrier" in English, it was called by that as a tribute to the "sacrificed Arabic countries" and on 8/5 Hajiz has been established, isolating Umbra inside for good.
2- Establishing the new world, we divided it into 5 sectors to both give more safety while facing Umbra and also to organize different strategies to fight, and those are:
Sector zero: the area surrounding the Alert zone and its radius is "3,000" Km
Then the livable area of the earth got divided equally into the four sectors, and as such the five sectors are established, people then got divided equally into the four sectors and only a few to Zero just to maintain Hajiz
Note/ the division isn't as accurate as you may think, as we put relationships and preferences into account, but it is the closest thing to perfection
3- Establishing the chain of command, which is found on the fact that we somehow forgot how to be evil, using a method to do so was the hardest part and not our ability to apply it, the chain got decided by Taro's chain which is a method created by a Japanese man, the idea is "Give people what they deserve" a giant blank board has been put in every street, people come there and write down every major sin they've done in the past, whether it's the thing they stole, the people they've hurt or the lives they've taken, then people gather reading everything, and after they've done grieving about the past, they start building the chain, people with the least sins gets on the top of the chain within their field and as such the chain got established.
After establishing the chain, we started working on the command itself, a series of ranks has been decided, each completing one another rather than being in charge, but also giving higher ranks higher controllability.
Each sector has one rank S, three B ranks, and eighteen C ranks, Rank S being leading everything within the sector, planning and deciding the future of the sector, the B ranks work as advisors to S while each controls the general matter of a one-third of each second, C ranks work as advisors for the B ranks while also supervising selected areas divided within the sector and this is how "The command" is made, but that's not it, there's still the Yora squad which is the army in a nutshell, scattered all over the sector with metro tunnels built literally everywhere, like no matter where, you'll see a tunnel connecting all of them, so they can go everywhere anytime in case something happens, and with one rank A commanding a sector's Yora squad.
4- finally, getting the Dyson spheres project to life, as we lost almost all of our energy, we had to immediately work on a solution, as even if we used all of our energy, including the ones used for Hajiz it wouldn't have been enough to destroy Umbra, so each sector except for zero began the project, its concept is to build spheres that can reach and take some of the sun's energy, unfortunately, such project is so hard to accomplish and already needs much energy, so even when it starts it would it need months to work efficiently, but fortunately with the benefit of people coming together which revealed that many have already been working on it for years and also Hajiz giving us the peace we needed, four years have passed since the Blackout and the spheres are working now and providing more than enough energy to supply our needs, but... what do we work on and what have we finished?
Obviously, we're working on a weapon that can destroy Umbra while analyzing it and everything that has happened in Blackout, unfortunately, till today we haven't reached that much, well, we did learn some info such as knowing that Umbra has a crystal resembling a human heart and also the fact that It has a magnetic field surrounding it, so nothing electrical can get any closer to it, we also did build some weapons but we still need much more time, sigh, I really wish for a miracle... like a coincidence that leads us to a new discove...
The scientist suddenly closes the note he's writing and stands up to the sound of an alarm filling both his heart and ears with fear, he rushes immediately into the control room
As he enters, he immediately involuntarily shouts, "what's going on?!"
But immediately losses all expression as he sees everyone drown in fear, he raises his head to look at the world map on the screen to see four entities matching Umbra's description appearing on the four borders of the world, one for each sector, unable to absorb such shock, he falls to the ground knowing all well they have been doomed
As everyone is unable to even think, fear swallows every little hope they've got, Not only in such sector, this fear has also consumed every place this world holds.
Suddenly, a voice pierces through such despair, birthing the miracle they all were waiting for
"My children, stand up! I don't have much time and I know this isn't what you would anticipate, but I want you to listen carefully, I am your God, I am the one who created you, I know this is sudden and definitely unexpected... but I couldn't make any contact before, all you have to do for now is to trust what I am going to say, those are the Devil's four angels! They aren't as strong as the one that preceded them"
Lightning descends enveloping the four angels and paralyzing them
"I'm sorry for not being able to do anything before, and I'm sorry for not being able to be with you now too... all I can do is make them unable to do anything for the upcoming 27 days, also there won't be more of them, this is your last war! You must never let them reach Umbra! Prepare yourselves well my children, the fight won't be easy, I'll be watching and helping you as much as I possibly can"
This was the first contact humans have ever had with God, and just by the idea of it, they got their spirit back, immediately stood up, and started planning
And as such, the war with the angels starts!
