Chapter 3 - New Dawn, New Day

After driving nearly over an hour of driving, Christian and Elizabeth arrived back at their apartment. Elizabeth was fast asleep in the passenger seat, he did not want to wake her up. He knew their date took a toll on her body, so he gently princess carried Elizabeth into his arms as he took the elevator to their apartment door, the light in the elevator started to bother Elizabeth's eyes as she started to squirm in his arms. Christian took his cap from Elizabeth's pocket purse and covered her eyes until he reached their bed. he softly put Elizabeth down onto their bed, christian helped take her shoes, coat, and his hat off of her so she was not stuffy when she was sleeping. It took a minute for Christian to help Elizabeth get comfortable in the bed but when he did, he immediately went back downstairs to get their purchases from the car. It took a few minutes for Christian to get the stuff upstairs but it was worth it to him. The whole time Christian was thinking about how Elizabeth was going to wake up and see their purchases and help put them up with him, it was a new feeling for him. He liked the feeling, no, he loved the feeling.

Christian's face was being lit by a computer light, he was typing away fast.

"No, it's going to take too long...this place is located in the city, but in the bad part...won't work." Christian mumbled as his pointer finger was rubbing against his bottom lip, something he only did when he was really focused on work.

He was scrolling through business locations that his secretary emailed earlier in the day. Christian wanted to start his own business after falling out with his grandfather, the grandfather wanted Christian to marry for the business but Christian always felt that there was more to life than marrying to inherit more money, and not loving one another since the marriage was nothing more than a contract between both companies. He never wanted that for his life or for his future children. so when his grandfather told him to choose. he chose love, and doing whatever he wanted to do, that was over a year ago. Christian started working as a bartender, dating whomever that looked his way. it was the first time he had that freedom. No-one was gossiping about who he was with, having it talked in the tabloids, his parents freaking out, it was none of that. Christian felt so much pressure evaporate off his shoulders, he could finally bear the weight of what he wanted and could handle.

When his old secretary called him and asked if he still wanted to build his own company from the ground up, he would help Christian. This made Christian get a fire in him. His mind was racing about all the possibilities but there was only one business idea that came to his mind was making his own video games. he majored in computer science and business when he was in college. he had to sneak around his parents so he could study computer science, he loved it. Christian needed to get people to help him make his dream come to life. By the time he knew it, the clock on the computer was displayed four am. He closed the computer and placed it on the glass coffee table, he climbed into bed next to Elizabeth who was now in her pajamas, her hair was somewhat wet and smelled like blueberries. he smiled as he knew he made the right decision to marry Elizabeth, she gave him a sense of longing and warmth that he never felt before not even from his own family. Christian wrapped his arm around Elizabeth to snuggle her back, he thought she was gonna wake up but she didn't she just scooted back into him and fell deeper in her sleep. Christian fell asleep soon after, he was comfortable for the first time in forever.

The next morning arrived when the sun beamed through the window blinds with the sounds of birds chirping, the cars bustling on the road, the flowers that they bought yesterday while doing errands were sitting out on the veranda; their smell was slowly creeping through the whole apartment. It woke Elizabeth up from her deep sleep, she was never a morning person but she was comfortable that she didn't wake up from her sleep once or tried staying up till five in the morning "writing" her book. she felt like she got her energy back, she felt more alive than before. Elizabeth smiled as she breathed in the fresh morning flowery air. she turned to her side and found her husband with his arm wrapped around her waist, it was new territory for her but she was not mad at him. instead she was grateful they could get this close within the few days they knew each other. She tried to move his arm and go to the kitchen to make some coffee, her morning ritual. Christian could feel someone squirming next to him, he smiled as he brought her closer to him wrapping her in a big bear hug and kissed her cheek as he said good morning.

"Haha, it tickles!" Elizabeth belly laughed from Christian tickling her belly.
