Chapter 12 - Improvements

Taking a gulp as he is quite nervous to find out what it is that made him suffer for a decade, Azrael finally reaches the reward that was there from the first encounter he had with the Fortress Golem, it's just that it is only now did he manage to truly see what is inside the treasure chest.

Inspecting it with extreme care as from his ability, he knows that this is the greatest treasure in the first floor, he held the card with such care as if he is afraid that it will just crumble into dust all of a sudden, his gaze on it almost as if he is staring at the most fragile thing in the world.

His curiosity about the exact information about this card was finally satisfied when he saw the azure screen floating in front of him with a new text displayed on it, the true use of this card finally being revealed to him, along with an even better surprise.

[Ability Upgrade Card]

[A unique item that can be found only in this place in the tower; however, it can only be obtained by those who have the greatest ability, those who are capable enough to defeat the guardians of these treasures. Use this item in order to increase the current grade of one ability. This card increases the chosen growth-type ability by one rank, and can be used no matter the grade of the ability is]

[Detected the acquisition of the greatest treasure on the first floor. The ability: True Treasure Hunting's treasure improvement chance is triggered…]

[Triggered the 100 times multiplier, acquired a Greater Ability Upgrade Card]

[Greater Ability Upgrade Card]

[An improvement over the normal Ability Upgrade Card. Unlocks the full potential of the growth-type ability it is used in. Also increases the growth-type ability's potential to a higher level]

Reading the information of this item he acquired, Azrael couldn't help but smile even more as this is just too compatible to one of his abilities, almost as if it is tailor made for him, prompting him to nod as he navigates to look at one of his abilities, the only growth-type one he has between his two abilities.

[Divine Restoration (S-Rank Growth-type Active Skill Card)]

[Blessed by the god of life and death, it is not possible for the possessor of this skill to die, grants the possessor an immortal, yet still destructible body that can regenerate even from just a single drop of blood, however, this recovery process takes a long time, longer time needed the larger damage the body of the skill's possessor sustained]

[Note: Due to the nature of this skill, there is a restriction that hinders it, increase this skill's rank in order to gradually lift the restriction placed upon it. Restriction: It will take a long time for damaged or missing body parts to recover, and the possessor of the skill can still feel the full brunt of pain from the damage they sustain]

[Detected the compatibility of the item: Greater Ability Upgrade Card with the S-Rank Growth-type skill: Divine Restoration. Consume the Greater Ability Upgrade Card to upgrade Divine Restoration?]

[Yes/No]

Seeing the option flashing on top of the multiple azure screens he is seeing, the young man merely gives a bit of thought to the matter before proceeding to consume the card, the reason being, he is already practically immortal through the use of Divine Restoration, and an upgrade has a huge chance of allowing him to restore his body even faster, which means an increase of combat power for him.

'Not to mention it might even dampen that fucking stinging pain every time someone hits me real hard' while it is true that he is already used to the pain of the body being crushed in all sorts of ways, the young man himself couldn't deny the fact that if there is a way for the pain he is experiencing to be removed, he wouldn't even think twice before accepting it, as getting used to excruciating pain doesn't mean that he always want to feel it.

As he chooses to consume the Greater Ability Upgrade Card, the item floats in the air as it emits a mysterious, entrancing glow that puts him to quite the state, making him feel like he is being enlightened about something as he floats across a cloudy land that stimulates nothing but comfort, as if he is being wrapped around the softest of cloth.

Relishing on this feeling, Azrael didn't even notice how much time had passed as he woke up once again, surprising him as a hole in this cavern makes it so that a ray from the sun directly hits him in the eyes, snapping him awake and sending him into a rush as it might be quite some time already after he defeated the Fortress Golem.

'It was almost night when I acquired the treasure, how long have I been asleep?' wondering to himself, the young man opens the guide in order to check something, the information about himself making him nod in satisfaction as after the decade long struggle that he had with the Fortress Golem, he finally saw another period of explosive growth, something that almost made him shed tears of joy.
