Chapter 3 - I'm A Vampire

"How do you like the eggs?"

Ilyara asked Silver, hands clasped underneath her chin, as she happily stared at him eating the breakfast she prepared herself.

Silver shrugged his shoulders, eating the burned beacons and overcooked eggs, "I have eaten worse," he replied nonchalantly.

"Ugh, I knew it, I should've let Hanna fix you up, but I wanted to do it myself. I guess, I have no talent in cooking."

Silver just shrugged again, "don't worry about it, better than anything I ever made. You could say, it's the best meal I ever ate since... Anyway it's good, so don't beat yourself up about it."

Ilyara's features softened. It was the first time anyone has ever complemented her for her efforts.

"Thank you, it means a lot that you said that."

Silver paused mid bite, mesmerized by her enchanting soft smile. She truly was a sight to behold, which made spending time with her all the more dangerous for him, seeing how he was slowly falling for her.

But Silver knew his limits. He pulled his gaze away from Ilyara, and looked around the dining room area. It was big, luxurious.

"So, do you own this penthouse?" He suddenly asked.

"Yes, it's mine. It was gifted to me by my co-star."

Silver's nonchalant expression change, as he gripped the fork a little too tight, "co-star you say. Mind if I ask, if it's a he or she?"

Ilyara chuckled at his sour expression, "don't worry, it wasn't something romantic or anything. He lost a bet and I always wanted this penthouse he owns, so I took it."

Silver nodded, detached, as if it had nothing to do with him, but he didn't notice how he breathed a sigh of relief hearing Ilyara's reply.

He started eating again, but this time, he looked at Ilyara in the eyes, as he said, "I think it's time we got to the real talk, why did you kidnap me?"

"Isn't it obvious, I want you to marry me."

Silver's eyes widened slightly, before snorting, shaking his head in a self-deprecating manner. He didn't reply, and continued eating, already deciding to leave after finishing his breakfast.

Ilyara didn't expect his reaction, which made her a little upset.

"Is my proposal, funny to you?"

"Yes."

"Why?" Ilyara asked, genuinely confused.

"Do you know how many girlfriends I have had?"

"Zero," she replied knowingly.

"Exactly. I have had zero girlfriends and not for lack of trying. I probably might not be the best looking guy, but I'm not exactly plain either, so it came as a shock that I couldn't get a girlfriend. That means the likelihood of going from zero girlfriends to suddenly a woman whose prettier than all the women I have ever met wanting to be my wife is not just zero, it's nonexistent. So I don't care what game you're playing at, but I won't be caught in your honey trap."

Ilyara's eyes suddenly lit up with understanding. This was her fault. She's the reason, he doesn't trust her beside the whole kidnapping thing. She had been the one to stop every advances from all the girls.

How could Silver not attract any women with those extremely handsome features. He was tall, has symmetrical facial features, uncommon long white hair that shimmers silver under the correct lighting and is always unkept, but makes him look sexier.

His shoulders were broad, and he was sculpted with godlike muscle. His hazel eyes seemed to pierce the very soul whenever he merely glances your way. His expression was always cold—detached creating this sort of distance between him and other people.

His features are literally why he keeps getting fired. His presence always causes women in the workplace to be unable to focus on their job while in the workforce that's full of men they are always green with envy.

He never made friends because they would not want a walking nuclear before their wives or girlfriends.

In hindsight now that she was thinking about it, Ilyara had to work extra hard to get rid of the women trying to cling to him.

Shaking her head from her silly thoughts she said to Silver, "I can assure you, this isn't a game, trick or even a trap, I really love you and would like to be your wife."

"Whatever you say," Silver obviously didn't believe her. But he didn't see the use complaining about it.

"You don't believe me," she outrightly said.

"Not at all."

"And what do I have to do to make you believe me?"

Silver finished everything on his plate. He placed the fork down and tilted his head in quiet thought.

"First, give me a job, one that pays well."

"I can do better than that."

"Second, let me go, I don't want to be your prisoner. I have a life."

Ilyara snorted at the having a life thing, but didn't call him out on it, "that's a given, any more demands."

The way she kept easily agreeing to everything made Silver suspicion. So he figured, why not test her.

"Since it's obvious you have been spying on me, there's a gir... never mind. My sister, I want her transferred to a private hospital with the best medical care possible. With all her expenses paid for."

She nodded happily, "fine by me, so.. will you marry me?"

"No."

"Why?"

"Just because.."

"Marry me?"

"No."

"Marry me?"

"No."

"Marry me?"

"No."

This went on for a while, until Ilyara puffed her chest. Her gaze becoming a hazy red hue.

"T-then how about this, if you marry me, you'll have all of it."

Silver raised his brow in feign interest, "have what exactly?"

"All of it, my billion dollar worth of assets, including money. As you'll be incharge of all my expenses. Our money."

Silver's interest was caught, his eye narrowing at this too sweet of a one sided deal, "am I hearing things or did you just say everything you own would be mine, no strings attached except the marriage part, which I view as a bonus, so not really?"

"Yes, I did."

Silver had a personal motto—for money, a twenty is a twenty dollar. Good thing he was never offered money to suck a dick or take backshots, as there's no telling what he would've done.

"Where do I sign," he replied, almost forcibly, excitement slipping through his shit eating grin.

Ilyara matched his expression, excitement heating up her body, "but there's one thing I must confess first," she started, her eyes turning a deep crimson, her sclera darkening into an inky black. She opened her mouth, and long incisors extended out of her mouth, long and sharp, "I'm a.. vampire."

Ilyara was nervous as she waited in bated breath for Silver's reaction. But he just stared at her with his detached expression. She thought he was so scared he couldn't react, but when she listened to his heart beat, it was beating fast, but not out of fear but from his earlier excitement.

Silver cocked his head to the side, "umm.. so that we're clear, this doesn't change the deal, I'm still getting my money, right?"
