Chapter 1
Axel pov
I look around in the quiet forest, not sensing anything wrong, but somehow I feel a shiver run down on my spine.
I heard footsteps in the snow, I smelled a strong scent of blood and lavender, searching for the start of the sound, I met with a pair of red eyes looking at me.
Something starts moving, something beneath me. I looked down seeing the snow start to melt and pulling my legs down, I looked at the pair of eyes.
"I...-" Trying to say something, but couldn't finish it before I was pulled down, it was like I was falling from the sky. Suddenly feeling a sharp pain on my back, I open my eyes quickly, seeing my best friend and future beta of my pack
"Bro what the heck?" I look at Emily, "Did you just kick me off the bed?" I let out a low growl, and she growled back
"Oh my I'm sorry that I needed to wake you up your highness" she said in a humorous tone
I can't help but laugh "The alpha called you, I was just trying to wake you up in a kind way" She laugh, and I glare at her "Yeah yeah in the kind way" I said sarcastic as I get up, she laughs at me and run out of my room, I slowly get up and get changed, I start to walk out of my room
"You are an idiot you know that?" my wolf, Echo sayed, I scoff "And you are really annoying, you know that?" He lets out a growl and cuts off our link. I laugh at myself, he is really an annoying one, why did I get him? Everyone got a normal wolf and there is mine that's a little... not normal?
I was walking till I stopped in front of my father's office, I groaned in frustration.
I knocked and opened the door, and everyone looked at me, my mother the luna, my father and his beta, I bowed my head in respect and walked in.
"Dad, mom why did you call me" I sit down, and my mom looked at me and raised an eyebrow, making a confused face
"We didn't call you dear" said my mother
as I made an annoyed face, and groan "That little-" my dad cut me off "But- if you are here you could help your mother with the preparations" I raised an eyebrow at this sentence "Preparations? with what?"
My father looks at me like I'm stupid "Did you really forget?" I laugh nervously "Uhh no?" I said as I avoided my father's gaze he let out a low growl in irritation, and a low sigh
"The alpha and his beta of the River Pack comes today for a meeting to negotiate a cooperation alliance"
he takes a big breath before continued "You will come with me and Sam, to the meeting. As the future alpha of this pack you need to learn how to run a meeting" he said, I looked at beta John
"You will help Emily and your mother with the meeting room's preparation, now go" he say and I frown "Yes dad" I said and walked out of the room I will kill Emily, she lied to me saying my parents called me.
Echo started laughing, I let out a low growl "What are you laughing at Echo" Echo let out a low chuckle
"Just how unlucky you are, how could you believe Emily's words, it's just too funny" he doesn't stop laughing "Oh shut up, you wouldn't be better" I say, and he huff
"Maybe but as a werewolf we should feel when someone is lying, but I think you trust her too much, or she can just lie too good"
he say before, I shut down our link with each other. I see Emily and force a smile on, she notices me and smiles back in a mocking way
"What's up Axy? Got some work to do?" she laugh I let out a huff and glare at her
"Don't call me that Emily, you know very well that I hate it when you call me that, and beside that we will work together so I can get my revenge on you" I smirk, and she chuckle
"Ohh Axy please don't make me laugh, your mother will be there and she won't let that, she loves me~" she says, and I chuckle "We will see that" we started to walk to the room that we need to work on, on the way we met my mother and she smiles "Hello dear, oh how are you Emily? I haven't seen you in a few days" she said as she hugged Emily, and I looked at them. Emily looks at me and sticks out her tongue, I growl at her and mom looks at me.
I stopped growling and I just continued to walk when we got to the room. I was the first one to reach the door.
So I opened the door for them, and letting Emily and mom in first, mom smiles at me and pinched my cheek "Oh my little son growed up and become a gentleman" mom smiles at me and I forced a smile on, after they went in I followed them I touched my cheek, ouch that's hurt "Even I could feel it, why did mom used such a force?" Echo whined in my mind, I let out a chuckle and we started to work on the room
"Axel move these tables there" mom pointed at the tables and in the direction of where I should put them. After Emily and I moved the desks, mom walked in the room with some papers and pens "After putting chairs at the table you should put one pen and one paper per seat" mom said and gave me the papers and pens.
I looked at mom "Me and Emily will go to the kitchen and do some work there, if you are done with the things I told you then come down to the kitchen" mom said and walked out of the room with Emily leaving me there with the work
did they just left we to do this all alone?
I put down the papers and pens on the table and I started to move the chairs after that I moved the pens and papers.
I groaned as I sat down on a chair
"why did this take so long?" I asked, but I slowly got up and made my way down to the kitchen.
When I walked into the kitchen I only saw mom and I didn't see Emily
"Where is Emily?" I asked mom,
"She is at the storage room" and then Emily got back with a box, I looked at the box "What is that?" Emily looked at me with a smirk, "It's the things that we need to use for the cream" she said.
—few minutes later—
Mom made the cream and handed it to me, I looked at her confused. "What should I do with this?" I asked, mom let out a chuckle and cupped my cheek "Oh dear.. Have you ever made a cake with me?" mom asked
"No..? I was always training with dad so I didn't get the time to-" Before I could finish my sentence, Emily put a cake down in front of me "Then it's time to learn it" mom smiled and left
she moved to her cupcakes. "But-" "No buts Axel" my mom said and I sighed.
—few minutes later—
I tried to make it and it didn't look that bad. I was impressed with myself, maybe I will go and be a chef. "Please don't" Echo said in my mind and I laughed at him.
"Don't worry I couldn't go even if I wanted to" I smiled
"Oh it doesn't look bad" Emily said as she leaned closer to it "Okay that's all you needed to help it you can go and do whatever you want" she said, I smiled
"Finally! I think I will go and sleep because someone kicked me off my bed" I said jokingly and quickly left.
I sprinted to my room and after closing the door behind me. I didn't waste more time as I jumped on my bed. I sighed "It was a long morning" I said to Echo "I would love to sleep, so I think I will leave and go to sleep" Echo said and I could feel him yawing
"You wouldn't-" I couldn't even finish my sentence before he shut down our link. I scoffed at this and continued to look at the ceiling. Then I heard a knock on my door
"Come in" I said as I sat up and mom came in with a bag in her hand. I raised an eyebrow at this "I brought your clothes, there is a suit with a red tie" mom said, and she started to walk towards me
"A suit? But mom- you know that I hate suits. Can't I just wear a-" and mom turned towards me with an angry face
"You need to put these on and no you can't just come down in a hoodie and shorts and that's final!" my mom said and put down the clothes beside me on the bed.
"You have 10 minutes to change and come down" she said "Only 10 minutes?!" Before I could even get up to do something, mom had already left my room.
I frowned and quickly changed into the suit. I tried to tie the tie but I couldn't so I ran down to mom. "Mom, can you help me?" I walk towards mom
"When will you learn to tie this?" my mom said with a sad tone and started to tie it. After she tied it he slowly patted my shoulder and made me stand next to her.
"Now we wait for Mr. Howard" I nod and I straighten myself, and then Emily comes I almost burst out laughing "What" Emily said with irritation in her voice
"You look like a clown" I smirked at her, and she gasped and put a hand on her mouth
"Oh my.. Did you look in the mirror because you look like a hamster"
I gasped "You-"
"A cute little hamster" I looked at mom and she chuckled
"Mom- you too?" I looked at her like a traitor and she laughed.
Then a car pulled over and a man and a woman came out of it and my wolf went insane
"MATE MATE!!"
Echo said and my eyes widened. "Wha- Are you sure Echo..?" I asked nervously "I'm sure! Don't make our mate waiting!"
Echo sounded rather angry, and he started to scratch at my mind. I frowned at the weird feeling.
"Hello Mr. Howard. I'm William the alpha of this pack, this is my wife Sandra the luna and this is Jason the beta" I looked up slowly as I seen my father shake the other alpha's hand
"It's a pleasure to meet you William, I'm Lucian" alpha Lucian said but instantly looked at me,
it can't be- my mate can't be a alpha. He had beautiful dark brown hair and green eyes like a forest. He didn't take his eyes off me and neither did I "Go to him!" Echo howled at me and without a warning he bit the side of my mind, the sudden pain ran down my whole body as a stinging feeling.
I grabbed my best friend's shoulder so I wouldn't fall. I groaned and I let out a low growl "You know this hurts like-" "Dear are you okay?" and that was the only moment when I noticed that everyone was looking at me
Emily grabbed my arm helping me up a little and I slowly straightened myself
"Yes.. I just have a headache- I think I will go to the bathroom if you excuse me"
I felt my mate's gaze on me, it could even burn a hole into me, but I ignored it and ran into the house, making my way to the bathroom.
