"Come on, Haurd!" The girl in the backseat cheered, engrossed in the thrilling race that they were a part of now.
"I thought you were rooting for Aunt Fiona." Harud teased her, but his eyes stayed focused on the road as he tried to overtake the Pagani in front of them at the turn. Sadly, Fiona had already anticipated it and closed in the inner corner, giving him no chance to take the lead. "It's all because of you, Victor, you are too heavy." He joked, and the Muscle-Head laughed at his words.
He was not even in the car with Harud but was sitting with Alana and Fiona.
"You are just not good enough." The man bluntly said, making the boy groan.
He now regretted letting Fiona take the lead, believing that he could beat her to the Palace, but as it turned out, she was really good behind the wheel.
"You lose." They heard Alana happily speak in the Comms a few minutes later, and Olivia laughed again in the backseat, making Harud roll his eyes.
She had changed sides again.
"It's not over yet."
"Let's see how you can win against me." Fiona snorted, and both Alana and Olivia laughed again, making the young boy sigh at their antics.
But true to his words, he did not give up and still tried his best to win.
Whilst everyone was enjoying their time, Roy, who was sitting in the passenger seat with Harud, was very quiet.
His mind was filled with a lot of different thoughts, and even more questions.
It was the third day of their road trip, and they were nearly at their destination now.
Since no one was in a hurry, they took their time and had as much fun as they could possibly have, and every moment was a pleasant surprise for Roy.
He had never before seen his mother laugh as much as she did in these three days, and he could just sense the happiness oozing out of her soul.
It was not a facade, but the purest of joys.
She was also much more confident than he ever remembered her to be, so confident that it almost felt surreal.
Roy had certainly never imagined a day when his mother would challenge Harud to race and actually win because she was just too good.
"Your Mama is awesome, right?"
These were the first words he heard when they entered the Gates, and he smiled.
"You are awesome, Mammy." He told her, and she merrily laughed, much made his heart feel sweet.
Yes, she had changed a lot, but she was still his mother. And he could tell by how much she cared for him that she still loved him and had not forgotten him.
He was a little upset with the thoughts that he had in the past three days, thinking that she had probably not even missed him.
"Roy, have you ever been here before?" Olivia suddenly asked, bringing him out of his thoughts, and only then did he pay attention to the thick fog and the white that blanketed the gardens by the side of the road.
"No." He honestly shook his head. "You?"
"Never got a chance." She too shook her head and tried to peer through the fog to see the place that was hailed as one of the most beautiful estates in the world.
Though they could not see things clearly, this had its own charm, and when they finally reached the Chateau, both of them were in awe of its architecture.
Even though she was a Princess too, Olivia had never been to a Palace this majestic, and strangely enough, there were not many guards around the place either.
Fiona and Harud parked their cars right in front of the main entrance, and two butlers, who were waiting for them, opened the door for them.
"I will show you around!"
Roy smiled when his mother grabbed his and Olivia's hands and then led them inside the Palace.
Alana, Harud, and Victor did not join them as they went their separate ways, probably to report to Keith.
The Inheritor of the God of Wealth carefully observed his mother as she was greeted by the maids, who all respectfully bowed to her, and he found out that she was not in the least overwhelmed by their actions.
She seemed totally at ease, just as if it was a mundane thing for her.
Even when they came across the second Prince, who was exiting the Library, Fiona's expression remained the same.
The two exchanged a polite nod, almost as if they were equals, and then the Prince greeted him and Olivia before excusing himself.
It was not just Roy who was shocked at what just happened, but even Olivia was a little overwhelmed.
She now felt a little nervous in Fiona's presence, who was clearly carrying himself like a Princess, and everyone treated her as such.
By now, she was well aware that Roy's mother was involved with Keith Argus Demiliore, serving him as his maid and was one of his lovers as well, but the treatment she was receiving was very different from any of the mistresses that the men in her family kept.
It took them a good two hours to check out the entire Palace, and finally, Fiona led them to the section where the Demiliore Family was staying.
Walking down the end of the hallway, they arrived outside a study room.
"Come in."
They heard a very light but magnetic voice when Fiona was about to knock on the door.
She led them inside the room, but then gestured for them to stay by her side when they saw that Keith was sitting at the coffee table, playing a strange chess with Avriel.
Fiona and Roy were fine, but when Olivia saw the pair sitting at the table, she was stunned.
The man was even more handsome than he looked in any of the videos and images on the Internet, and the girl by his side, whom she had never seen before, was undoubtedly the youngest Princess of the House of Valois.
Alana and Fiona were already intimidatingly beautiful, but Avriel seemed like a Goddess of Beauty who had descended to the Mortal World.
Olivia felt ashamed of her existence as she looked at the perfect profiles of the couple, and then she just lowered her head, not daring to look at them again. Just looking at them felt like she was committing blasphemy.
However, she soon relaxed when she felt Roy grab her hand and gently squeeze it.
She did not know why he did it, but it was exactly what she needed at that moment, and the sweet smile that she gave him reflected her emotions.
The three of them stood at the door for nearly half an hour before the game ended, and the Princess smiled at her intended before she stood up and looked their way.
She smiled as she walked over to them and they and Fiona immediately bowed to her.
"You don't have to do that, you know."
"My Lady."
However, Fiona still adhered to the etiquette, and Roy and Olivia did the same as they bowed to her.
"You are pretty." Avriel gently patted Olivia's head, which embarrassed her and made her feel happy at the same time. "Excuse me. I have some to do right now. We will see each other again at the dinner."
"I am honoured, Princess."
Roy did not dare to raise his head after he was notified by the System who this Princess really was, and to say that he was stunned was an understatement.
The True Inheritor of Mnemosyne, the Goddess of Muses and Mind. And she was already in the Martial Realms, a Peak Martial Master, who was only a step away from becoming a Martial Tyrant.
However, there was also something that confused him.
"Avriel Jean Demiliore?" He asked again, and the System affirmed it.
{Yes, Host. She is your Master's daughter as well as his Wife.}
"What?" He was bewildered by this piece of information, but before he could ask another question, he heard footsteps approaching him.
Raising his head, he saw Keith coming over, and as soon as their eyes met, he immediately bowed.
"Master."
"Roy," Keith nodded and then smiled at Fiona, who stepped forward to hug him. "Had fun?"
"Yes," She honestly nodded her head, giving her Master a brief summary of their road trip, and then she introduced Olivia.
"Miss Eden." Keith nodded to the nervous girl, who was intimidated by his presence and smiled at how she addressed him.
"Lord Demiliore."
"Has my Apprentice been a good friend to you?" He lightly asked, and the girl finally relaxed at the gentleness in his voice.
She still did not dare to look at him but glanced at Roy, who seemed very nervous right now.
"He is a good person, Lord Keith, and an even better friend."
Her friend smiled a little at her words.
"Good." Keith nodded and then turned to look at Fiona. "Show Miss Eden to her room. Viola had already prepared it."
"Yes, Master," His Maid obediently nodded to him and then smiled at the girl.
After the ladies left, Keith walked back to the table, and Roy subconsciously followed him.
"What is Master's current Realm?"
{My apologies, Host. The System is unable to see through Lord Keith's strength.}
"Oh."
