"What were you trying to do before I came?" Yvonne asked him.
"I was trying to walk" The young God was embarrassed by his inability to locomote.
Yvonne just smiled at the newborn god. She was sure that if he had a mortal form, he would be blushing up to his ears.
She giggled at him and said"You can't walk in space, there is no surface for that. But what you can do is feel aether."
"Again? Why do I have to feel aether to just walk."
"You should know that aether is everything to Gods like us. We feed on aether, we communicate with aether, we travel with aether, we are made of aether. Everything we do is due to aether."
He was genuinely surprised by the applications of aether. He knew that he was made of aether and that he fed upon it to get strong but he didn't have any idea about possibilities of this magical substance.
Seeing the puzzled expression on his face she decided to continue with her teaching.
"You need to perceive the aether of the place you want to move. For example, If I need to reach out to that asteroid I would try and feel the aether." She pointed her index finger at the asteroid miles away to emphasize her point, "I am going to reach there now, try to feel it with your senses not your eyes."
Yvonne eyed the newborn and then looked at the asteroid which was floating around the space. Her body twiched as she travelled through the aether around her.
From the young God's eyes it seemed like a blur of a moment leaving behind violet aether which glowed for a moment before returning to it's normal state.
What really happened was, a magnificent phenomenon. As she moved, her body transformed into pure aether, displacing the the dormant aether in her vicinity and traveling through it. Her body broke in million aether particles before joining again and again until she reached her destination. Leaving behind trail of activated aether.
(A/N:- Difference between dormant aether and activated one is that in order to consume aether to strengthen the core, a God has to reach out to it with his aether sense which activates the aether. If there is enough the Activated aether starts glowing and vibrating.)
The newborn God was once again surprised by the capabilities of aether. He now understood that Aether wasn't exaggerating capabilities of aether or to some extent himself. It truly was a great element.
"Did you get it?" Yvonne now stood near the asteroid she had pointed at earlier.
"Somewhat. I felt the disintegration and integration of your body many times." Even though newborns were weak and had a low aether perception than Older gods, they could still expand their senses upto miles.
"That happened because of less concentration of aether in some areas, so my body filled the gaps itself." She came back to him while explaining this.
"Now, its your turn."
He nodded and started to expand his senses. He didn't try to reach the asteroid because he wasn't confident in his ability to rush so far.
(A/N:- I'm just gonna call it rush/aether rush from now on.)
He concentrated on an area 20 ft to his left. In fraction of a millisecond his body started to vibrate and disintegrated into individual particles before travelling just below speed of light to his destination. And leaving behind trail of activated aether.
"Wow, that was amazing. I could see my body moving. It felt like watching myself from someone else's body and I felt like-"
"Part of a greater whole? Yeah, don't feel too much into it or your body will disintegrate forever."
"That's terrific yet amazing. I felt like I was aether itself and could do anything. It was great!"
"It is." She reminisced about her own time when she was leaning rush.
"I can't wait to learn more." He felt exhilarated at thought of learning Aether Arts.
"If you want to learn more, you would need a stronger body and lots of aether to spare." Yvonne was pleased to see the enthusiasm in the young God, so she decided to step up her game, "We are gonna hunt some fiends. They have bodies made of pure aether, which you are going to consume."
"I thought they were dangerous to young Gods like me?" Even with his newly learnt rush ability he was doubtful in himself to kill a fiend.
"Worry not, I am going to be the one doing all the killing." Yvonne now had a serious expression as she explained her idea, "You are going to stay back and watch. I'll handle everything." This was the second time he had seen her attitude change, first when she told him about fiends."Understand?" The newborn nodded at her words.
"Okay, now try to keep up with me. We are going to find a fiend for you." After looking at him for one last time, she rushed. Her body melted into her surroundings as she travelled at incredible speed.
The newborn looked at the bright blaze of aether left in her wake. He once again expanded his senses and felt vibrating particles in his vicinity and decided to follow them. Soon his body started to vibrate and stretching until it disintegrated into space before reforming and traveling at great speed, trying to keep up with Yvonne.
After what felt like seconds, he reached his destination and saw Yvonne standing. He see her tense posture.
As he came near her, he saw an enormous blob of violet aether with several tentacles ending with sharp claws. It was at least 20ft long and had a neck quarter the size of its body. There was an aether core in the middle of its head, connecting to its various tentacles and other body parts. And it was currently busy consuming another fiend.

As he was watching this happen, Yvonne transformed her hands into long double sided blades, and had a look sharper than it's edges.
"We are hunting it"
