Chapter 31 - Chapter 30 - Right in the Down Under

[General POV]

It was a regular day for the people of Droutaris. Their star had finally fallen over the horizon and the cities beautiful lights shone throughout the night.

Men, women, and children alike all gathered in the city streets. Merrily going about their lives without a care in the world.

In one part of the city, two women can be seen gossiping about their lives as they say at a table and drank from their refreshing alcoholic beverages.

"So how's the family?"

"Ugh, don't even get me started. Verra is failing almost all her classes and what does my husband do? Nothing. Like always."

"Mm, girl, you are too good for him. That man is no good. No good."

In another part of the city, a nice family can be seen together at a park, frolicking through a field of glowing insects.

"Mommy, daddy, look! Crigar!"

"I know, aren't they pretty, sweetie?"

And in another part, two men had just gotten off work and were heading home, tired expressions marring their faces.

"I know right?! Then she has the nerve to say that I'm the one with commitment issues!"

"I'm telling ya, man. I'm never getting hitched."

All this hustle and bustle in the city was something to behold. Everyone from all walks of life intermingling with each other in harmony.

It had been a good day.

A good day indeed...

"You guys ready?" A young voice asked as he turned towards the four of his brethren.

They all nodded resolutely before the leader formed a white energy ball in the palm of his hand, shooting it into the night sky and before shouting, "Burst open and mix!"

---

The once crown jewel of Droutaris was turned into nothing but ash. The once beautiful city turned to rubble, burying those who thought they were lucky enough to get away from the death and destruction outside caused by five massive titans.

There was no one left.

In the middle of the destroyed city, Team Black had gathered around a small campfire as they cooked the meat of the planet's wildlife. The four Saiyan children listening intently as their leader adressed each of them.

"Vegeta, Raditz, you both did a good job on your end, but you two need to start getting a handle on working together as a unit." Zyleth said toward the rival duo, "There were too many times you two butted heads with each other. We're a team. Start acting like it"

The two looked at each other with narrowed eyes before promptly looking away from each other with a huff.

"Broly, you did very well. You stuck by your assigned partner and did everything perfectly. I'm proud." Zyleth said to the quietest member of the team.

Broly nodded his head and sipped on his juice with a happy expression, tilting his head side to side as he kicked his feet.

"And Turles, you did great. You're getting a better handle on your Great Ape form every time. Good job." Zyleth said to the newest member of his team.

Turles was the same age as Broly and Vegeta, being born only weeks apart. His appearance was largely that of how he looked in the movie and the games, the only difference being his hair.

Instead of it looking like Goku's hair, it was more in line with Raditz's, only his hairline was much more filled and there was a large bang hanging over the left side of his face.

"Thank you very much!" Turles exclaimed with the upmost admiration.

Before joining Team Black, Turles had heard about the previous exploits of this team. More specifically, the exploits of their leader, Zyleth.

Born with the highest power level in Saiyan history, defeated a Saiyan Elite at four years old, stopped a monster equal to Lord Frieza himself!

He was everything Turles aspired to be.

That last bit may have been grossly exaggerated by those who had spread the story throughout Planet Vegeta, but Turles didn't know that. And neither did Zyleth since he had no idea which version of the story Turles heard since there were dozens of different versions now going around.

The one Turles had heard was actually one of the more tame versions. You don't even want to know some of the outlandish things that had gotten spread around.

"How many planets does this make?" Raditz asked.

"Eight." Zyleth answered before swallowing the food in his mouth, "This one was the last."

"What? Is counting too difficult for you?" Vegeta asked mockingly.

"Not as difficult as when you're trying to get my foot out of your ass!" Raditz shouted out angrily.

Zyleth groaned and placed his food down. He then held out both of his hands, reaching over the fire and flicking the both of them on their foreheads. The force of the flick caused the duo to fly straight into an already destroyed wall.

"They don't let up, do they?" Turles muttered with a wry smile as he looked at his two unconscious teammates.

"Grab them and let's get going. I want to get back to Planet Vegeta before the month is over." Zyleth said as he picked up the last of his food and stood up on his feet.

Broly and Turles quickly grabbed their teammates before running to catch up with their leader.

It had been a little over half a year since the birth of Zyleth's youngest brother, Kakarot, and Team Black had been busy ever since.

The training of Turles was just the beginning, as when they were finally finished, Zyleth was then tasked to help his team gain control over their Great Apes.

That task was actually not as bad as one might expect, since Broly had already been taken care of, there was only Raditz, Vegeta, and Turles left who had to learn. And getting normal Saiyans to learn how to control the Great Ape form vs his Ancient and Broly's Legendary versions was much, much easier.

Zyleth originally gained control over the Great Ape in the span of just under a month, and Broly was able to control his in half that time in just a little bit over two weeks.

The other three did it in half of that, with Vegeta gaining control in just three days! Raditz was next with five days, and then Turles who did it in seven.

After that was complete, Zyleth made the executive decision to have them get used to having their tails grabbed. That weakness was prevalent in all of them, including himself.

That wasn't as time consuming as the Great Apes, only taking about two days for everyone on the team to get rid of that fatal flaw.

It wasn't until all of that was said and done that King Vegeta started to send them on more and more missions. Luckily enough, those missions weren't so far off world that it required them to take months and months of time traveling through space.

The mission they were currently on was the longest, with it taking just over two weeks to complete. It was to conquer an entire star system that was on Saiyan Command's radar for a little while now.

All in all, with the time it took to reach the star system included, it took just over a month for them to return home, so it wasn't too time consuming.

[Zyleth's POV]

The ship had finally touched down back on Planet Vegeta, and I couldn't help but be grateful to whatever god is out there that I didn't have to listen to Vegeta and Raditz's incessant arguing any longer.

Those two have been major pains in the ass ever since I made Vegeta my Second in Command.

Dear lord, the two just wouldn't fucking stop!

If I had known that choosing my Second-In-Command would lead to this, I would've just not done it! Fuck the goddamn paperwork!

I couldn't pick Raditz as my second because he was too headstrong for his own damn good. He also had an anger management problem. Well... every Saiyan has an anger management problem, but he especially has one.

Broly was out because, even though he's my favorite out of the bunch by miles, he was more follower than he was a leader. Plus, he was too passive. As much as I like the kid, leaders need to be proactive, not reactive.

Turles would honestly be my prime candidate for the job, he certainly had the drive, but he was too new to the team for that level of responsibility right off the bat.

Too bad for that, because that meant that the only one left for the job was Vegeta, Prince of all Douchbags...

And despite my insults, he wasn't that bad of a choice. He was smart, cunning, calculating... He also had good sense and knew how everyone operated.

Now if only I could get Raditz could see it that way...

"ENOUGH!" I finally snapped and yelled out, causing everyone to jump back, "Vegeta, you and me are going to report to your father. The rest of you, go home."

Raditz looked as if he was about to argue, but I quickly gave him a heated glare that shut him right up.

"I swear on everything I hold dear, if you open your mouth and it is anything but a "yes, sir", I will put a fucking muzzle on you." I said through gritted teeth.

His pupils shrank with fear and he let out a soft, "Yes, sir..."

"Good." I said, trying to hold on to the last bit of sanity I had left as I walked towards the castle with Vegeta in tow.

"Don't feel bad about putting him in his place. The idiot needed to learn the hard way how things work." Vegeta said with a smirk.

"Vegeta, insult my brother again and I'll feed you to the Foolaats on Sevemeer Ultra." I told him.

Vegeta broke out in a cold sweat as he looked at me shaken expression, "B-But I t-thought you killed all the F-Foolaats on S-Sevemeer Ultra..."

I narrowed my eyes at him, "Did I?"

---

Walking into the castle, I saw that the hallways looked a little too empty from what I remember.

Strange...

While the castle wasn't the heaviest place in terms of foot traffic, it wasn't exactly desolate like this either.

"Vegeta, do you notice anything strange?" I asked, my eyes looking around at everything surrounding us.

"Hmm?" He hummed with confusion, "No, why?"

My eyebrows furrow for a moment before I shake my head and move on.

"Nevermind." I tell him, "It's probably nothing."

Reaching the large door to the throne room, Vegeta pushed on it, but it seemed as if something was blocking it.

"What the--?!" Vegeta exclaimed, trying to push on it harder.

"Don't hurt yourself." I said as I looked at the door with a raised eyebrow.

First the emptiness of the halls and now this?Something strange is definitely going on here...

"Damnit..." Vegeta groaned, giving up before quickly catching his breath and saying, "Come on. I know another way in through here."

I followed Vegeta towards a window and he opened it and flew out. Doing the same, I followed him towards another window and we entered the Throne Room that way, but upon entering, we saw that the throne room was a complete mess.

Rubble littered everywhere, holes in the ceiling...

It looked like a bomb had just went off in here.

"The hell happened here?" I muttered before walking towards the middle of the throne room.

Hearing groans of pain, Vegeta and I stopped in our tracks before I peaked out from behind a large pillar to see what was happening.

"Oh no..." I muttered, my eyes widening on the fresh hell that we just walked in on.

"What? What's wrong?" Vegeta asked before peaking out himself, seeing his father kneeling on the ground with his head being stepped on by what looks to be a hairless, bipedal, and purple cat.

"We're fucked..." I tell him, having absolutely no hope in us getting out of here alive.
