Chapter 37 - Chapter 36 - Super Saiyan?

What is this?

That was the question in every Saiyans head as they looked on at what was happening.

The pressure that was coming off of Zyleth, the same pressure that was now raining down on top of them, was so immense that it was too much. Just being anywhere near him felt as though they were suddenly dragged hundreds of leagues underwater.

It was hard to move.

Hard to breathe.

Hard to think.

It was as if their bodies simply refused to function. This wasn't what it was like when they were in front of Frieza. With him, it was a just basic survival instinct, but this?

This was something deeper, more primal.

Like there was this urge deep within them that wanted to both bow down and run away from him, but their bodies couldn't decide on which action it wanted to take, so they just froze.

And the ones who were the most affected by this phenomenon, was none other than Zyleth's own friends and family.

"W-What the hell is that...?" Fasha asked, her voice shaking as she looked at the child she had partially nurtured since birth.

Borgos clutched his chest, his breathing hampered by just laying eyes on him, "Should... run..."

"Is... Is that something we can do?" Shugesh asked, his body shaking down to his bones.

"Bardock?" Tora asked, turning his head towards their leader.

The Saiyan in question could only look on in shock.

Everything had happened so fast. His son fighting Frieza, his son almost losing, his son winning, his son dying, his son coming back, and then his son and his wife getting injured right in front of him.

He was ready to bring Frieza to him knees for what he did, but before he could, Zyleth had stood up once more.

How many times has this happened?

How many times was he going to be saved by his own son?

And how many times was he going to see that Zyleth had managed to overcome odds he thought was impossible...?

"I... I have no idea..." Bardock finally responded.

---

"What form of power is this?" Sela muttered, unable to even comprehend what had just happened.

She had never seen anything like this before.

The skies turning black, the red lightning, the overwhelming sense of hopelessness, everything had come crashing down onto her and she couldn't even get a moment to properly process any of it.

"This... This is it..." The King said, a crazed smile forming on his lips, "He's finally done it... HE'S FINALLY ACHIEVED IT!"

"What are you talking about? What has Zyleth done?!" Sela asked, her voice shaking with both worry and fear.

What has her husband done?

Ignoring both his wife and the pain of his injured body, The King stood up on his own two feet, laughing as though he knew his victory was all but inevitable.

"THIS IS YOUR END, FRIEZA! BEAR WITNESS TO LEGEND! GET READY TO FACE THE POWER OF THE LEGENDARY SUPER SAIYAN!" He yelled out in deranged glee before falling unconscious.

Hearing the mad King's words, Frieza looked towards the child that held his fist, wanting nothing more than to deny the claim.

But he couldn't.

The proof was standing right in front of him.

And it wanted to rip him apart.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHH!!!"

As Zyleth yelled out, his black and red aura doubling in size as he gripped harder on Frieza's hand. His other hand charged back and hit Frieza right in the gut, causing the mighty Emperor to double over in pain so immense that he couldn't fathom it even existed.

The blow was so hard that it knocked all the air out of Frieza's lungs and caused him to spit up onto the ground.

"Uuuuuaaagh..."

Fighting through it, Frieza quickly wrapped his tail around Zyleth's neck in another attempt to gain the upper hand, but it proved ineffective when Zyleth simply grabbed his tail and pried it off his neck.

"W-What?!" Frieza exclaimed.

A dark smirk grew on Zyleth's face as he gripped onto the Frost Demon's tail and started to spin. Like a child playing around with a toy too roughly, Zyleth continued to spin Frieza around until his tail was forcibly ripped from his main body and Frieza went flying into the castle as a result.

Zyleth looked down at the severed tail in his hands with disinterest before dropping it to the ground and flying off towards Frieza.

"Lord Frieza!" Dodoria yelled as he and Zarbon were about to fly off to support him.

With Zyleth's departure and the loud exclamation that had come from Dodoria, Bardock and the others finally snapped out of their stupor and quickly rushed over to intercept them.

"No you don't!" Bardock shouted, blasting the two with a high-powered energy blast.

The two commanders quickly dodged out of the way and regrouped, only to see that they were completely surrounded by a group of five adult Saiyans.

"Going somewhere?" Tora asked, cracking his fists as he smirked at both of the shocked aliens.

"You weren't thinking of interrupting them, were ya?" Shugesh asked, his hands on his hips.

Seeing that they were outnumbered, Zarbon and Dodoria gritted their teeth in anger before Dodoria's face suddenly grew a devious smirk.

"You deal with them. I'll go support Lord Frieza!" He yelled before blitzing off towards the castle, leaving Zarbon to deal with the matter on his own.

Zarbon looked at his backstabbing cohort with an ugly expression before turning back towards the Saiyans, who didn't even look as though they were the slightest bit interested in going after him.

"You... You aren't going to chase him?" He asked, wondering what they were plotting, especially since that their aim was to stop them from interrupting the fight between their Lord and that monster in monkey skin.

"Don't worry about that." Bardock replied, smirking at Zarbon, "You've got your own problems to worry about."

---

With Dodoria, the Frieza Force Commander chuckled deviously as he closed in on the castle. With Zarbon out of the way, it made it all too easy for him to go out and attain more favor from their Lord.

"Don't worry, Lord Frieza." He said to himself, "General Dodoria is on the way."

As he was flying, Dodoria felt a sharp, burning pain suddenly hit his back and he crashed into the ground. He shook his head and pushed himself up, looking around to see three Saiyan children flying above him.

"And where do you think you're going?" Vegeta asked, looking down on Dodoria with an cold stare.

"You runts really did it now..." He grumbled in anger before smirking at the three children, "Do you really think you brats have any chance at defeating me?!"

"Maybe not." Vegeta said with a serious face before extending his arms out, "But my mentor taught me the importance of teamwork."

Dodoria stared at him confused until his eyes widened and he turned around to see a countless amount of other Saiyan warriors hovering around him. There were dozens, perhaps even a hundred, and all of them were focused on him.

Even so, he let out a quick sigh of relief as he pressed the button on his Scouter, "Hmph, you think that just because you have a bunch of mediocre--"

The moment the word "mediocre" left his lips, his Scouter exploded into pieces. Dodoria's mouth dropped, realizing that he was in far more danger than he thought.

"Not so cocky now, huh?" Nappa asked, him being the one who was at forefront of all the Saiyans.

"SAIYANS!" Vegeta yelled out for all to hear, "TAKE BACK OUR PLANET!"

Every single Saiyan in the vicinity charged at Dodoria, wanting to rip him limb from bloody limb. Dodoria tried fighting them off, but the sudden flood of Saiyans was too much.

As he was ripped apart, screaming at the top of his lungs in pure agony, Vegeta only smiled on with sinister glee at the brutal demise of one of Frieza's top commanders.

---

At the castle, Frieza had crashed through the ceiling of the throne room and collided with the throne, laying atop its broken pieces. At the start of this fight, he was sitting atop of it, but now he was broken and crippled, just like the throne.

Using his only remaining arm, he tried pushing himself up to his feet, but Zyleth came through the ceiling soon after and stopped him from doing so by grabbing him by his face.

Now having Frieza in his hands, Zyleth slammed him into the ground and dragged him across the floor, causing Frieza to scream in pain before throwing him out, through the throne room doors.

Keeping up his assault, Zyleth closed the distance in an instant and pummeled Frieza from room to room, the force of his blows alone causing the castle's foundation to shake.

He kicked Frieza up into the air and through the ceiling before suddenly teleporting right into his path. Winding his arms behind his head, Zyleth spiked Frieza back down towards the ground, causing him to land deep into the brick foundation the Royal Training Grounds.

Struggling to even breathe at this point, Frieza sat up and saw Zyleth on the far side of the training grounds, stalking towards him. His eyes widened in fear before he suddenly reached out with his hand and started to blast away at Zyleth with his remaining strength.

"How dare you?! HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO THE GREAT LORD FRIEZA?!" He yelled, unable to comprehend how things had turned out this way for him.

Zyleth walked through the blasts with ease, getting closer and closer before suddenly backhanding Frieza through another wall. Frieza flew back out towards the Saiyan city, stopping once he collided with one of the buildings.

---

"This... This is impossible..." A transformed Zarbon muttered as he crawled away from the members of Team Bardock, the lower half of his body completely gone, "This isn't... This isn't the end... It can't..."

"That's where you're wrong." Bardock said as he walked over to the crawling Zarbon.

Kicking him over onto his back, Bardock held out his palm and aimed it towards Zarbon's face. A blue sphere radiated from his palm as he looked at Zarbon with a serious expression.

"This is the end." He told him before blasting Zarbon into nothing but ash.

Dropping his arm to his side, Bardock turned around and looked towards his team. While having a few new bruises, they still looked ready for another tumble or two.

"Think the others got Dodoria yet?" Tora asks his leader, "Maybe they'll need some more backup."

"That won't be necessary." A young voice called out.

Looking over, they saw the three members of Team Black walking over to them. Looking towards Vegeta, they saw Dodoria's head hoisted over his shoulder.

"Seems that answers that..." Shugesh muttered.

"Eugh... What are you doing with that...?" Fasha asked with a disgusted face.

"I'm going to mount it on my wall." Vegeta answered plainly, looking around the floor for something, "Where's the green-haired one?"

"Ash." Bardock replied simply.

"Shame. I wanted his head as well." Vegeta grumbled.

"There's always his legs." Tora replied, pointing over his shoulder.

Looking over to where Tora was pointing, Vegeta saw what looked like a pair of legs that had been perfectly ripped from the top half of Zarbon's body.

He looked at the pair of legs for a moment, rubbing his chin in thought, seeming to genuinely give the suggestion some thought.

"Why are you actually thinking about it...?" Fasha muttered, feeling very sick all of a sudden.

Suddenly, the rumble of a loud crash sounded off behind them and they turned, seeing Frieza digging his battered form out from underneath some rubble.

Hearing more rumblings, they turned towards the castle and saw Zyleth walking out of the destroyed wall of the Royal Training Grounds, the ground crumbling under his feet as he walked towards Frieza.

"What is this...?" Vegeta asked, looking on at his leader with an uneasy feeling radiating from his chest, "Is this really the power of the Super Saiyan of legend?"

"I don't know..." Bardock muttered, staring at his son with a complicated gaze, "But I don't like it one bit..."

---

"This isn't real... This can't be! THIS CAN'T BE!!!" Frieza yelled out, but his cries of denial were short lived when Zyleth suddenly grabbed him by his horns and started to pull.

Frieza tried desperately to pry the Saiyan's hands away from him, but it was useless given that he only had one hand.

"You..." Frieza seethed, his body starting to radiate a bright purple glow, "GET YOUR FILTHY SAIYAN HANDS OFF ME!"

The sudden rise on power exhibited by Frieza had managed to blow away Zyleth just slightly, even though his power still far outclassed Frieza's. It didn't knock him far though, as he planted his feet into the ground and forced himself to stop.

"FRIEZA!!!" Zyleth yelled out the name of the Emperor towards the sky with nothing but a hate-filled fury, his menacing black and red aura expanding to even greater heights.

"You wretched ape! I'll show you the true might of Lord Frieza!" Frieza started to yell as well, his aura matching Zyleth's in terms of raw power, and even exceeding it.

As they were charging up, Zyleth's face suddenly grew a devilish smirk before he suddenly stopped powering up and sent a Power Ball straight into the atmosphere. Not have expected this, the Emperor's eyes widened in which before he quickly tried to send a blast to intercept it, but Zyleth quickly appeared in front of the blast and deflected it away.

The Power Ball reached its destination and had started to release its energy. Zyleth's body suddenly started to pulsate, his smile one of deranged pleasure as the painful transformation started taking place, but before he could start to grown, the Power Ball was suddenly blown away.

"Well now, isn't this interesting."

Before either could react, multiple beams shot through the young Saiyan's body, causing enough shock to run through him that the pupils that had disappeared suddenly reappeared in his eyes once more. The dark aura that surrounded Zyleth had disappeared as well, and the Saiyan fell to the ground unresponsive.

Looking towards the sky, Frieza's eyes widened more than ever as he couldn't believe who he saw. Floating above him was the towering form of Cooler, his older, more powerful brother.

And hovering close behind him was his Armored Squadron.

"Br-Brother?!" He exclaimed.

"Frieza." Cooler smiled sinisterly as he acknowledged his younger sibling.

---

Waking up in a familiar black void, Zyleth groaned softly as he sat up and took in his surroundings.

"W-What the hell...?" He muttered.

He recognized this place instantly. The cold, but warm feeling of the atmosphere surrounding him was like meeting an old friend. He was back in the void. The place between death and life.

"Hey." A voice suddenly called out.

Turning towards the unknown voice, Zyleth saw a man staring at him with an indifferent expression.

"We need to talk."

That man staring at him was Astral.

The god who had reincarnated Zyleth five years ago.
