With the die in hand, Null took the opportunity to recede into his mind space for a little visit.
Once inside, he saw his own image in the makeup of spirit water smiling to themself while staring at nothing in particular.
"You wanna tell me what's up with that strange die you gave me, or were you just gonna keep me in the dark again?"
This got their attention as they refocused on Null yet still kept the goofy smile on their face.
"Why can't you just get a feel for it like with the other thiings. I like it better when there's a natural flow to the discovery."
"What are you even talking about? I just want to know why you do these cryptic things without the slightest clue as to what they're for."
"I'm trying my hardest too you know! I'm sorry I can't explain everything to you because I know just as much as you do," Ego cried.
This was the first time Null had seen Ego so perturbed aside from when Rage was messing around.
"You of all people should know just how hard it is to face reality when I have such an important task at hand. I left the cosmic structure in your hands for a reason, not just because you took it."
"Why would you leave such an important thing in my hands Null? I've been winging it this whole time and yet I feel like I've done nothing for it."
Null could not help but blame himself for this mess, "Listen Ego, I never should have left you alone to deal with this."
"It's not that Null. It's just that whenever you fall into a predicament, I feel like it's my fault for not allowing you the power that you need."
"It's not your fault. I'm sure that in time you'll be able to understand about the structure more than I ever could so that I'll be able to be at my best."
He continued, "For now, I'll get used to the die you gave me. Who knows? Maybe this is the right way for us to move after all."
"Yeah, thanks. I've already understood the most basic functions of the structure. The way you used your emotions to activate it are just one way of utilizing it."
"All of the powers of the cosmos are stored within the confines of the structure and only you can wield them as you see fit."
"So for now, just take a chance on what I can give you. The rest is soon to come."
"I'll do just that," Null said before returning to the outside world.
As he was waking up, his friends gathered around him.
"Does he always do that," Z'oelo asked.
"I think it's a part of his enlightenment," Barter's Ruler said— as if that was all the explanation needed.
"I have a friend that I had been meaning to talk to is all," Null did not go further into his personal matters.
"What did you discuss," Klein asked.
Null pulled out the die and spoke, "While I wanted to bestow Z'oelo with some spiritual energy, I realized that part of my abilities was temporarily sealed off."
He continued, "But with this," he raised the multi-sided die that shifted images each moment, "I might be able to achieve the effect."
"What would this spiritual energy do for me anyways?"
"Think of it like an upgrade to your body. The spiritual energy reforms everything into a purer, stronger form."
"It helped us with our powers as well," Klein spoke up.
"Let's just see what this thing can do," Null attempted to roll the die onto the floor.
As it rolled, the die let out a profound presence and stayed in the air.
The faces that showed on the die were complex and bared unknown meaning.
When finished, the die showed only a single face and shown a brilliant hue of dark blue.
Null felt the connection to the die deepen as the vortex in his body change to transform into the tentacle like strands.
He knew that now was the chance to transfer over the spirit energy to Z'oelo.
He gathered the spirit energy as he felt the familiar changes to Void.
He allowed Void to flow outwards this time and attach itself to Z'oelo against his will.
"What the fuck is this?!"
"Just relax and allow the process to empower you."
His protesting subsided as he felt the cool effects of the spirit energy.
It was much like the familiar ki that he was used to, only this energy was in its purest state.
His muscles tensed and relaxed and he focused on his connection with Muni deepen.
He was able to share his ki with Muni and similarly, he shared the pure spirit energy.
Her physical form was morphing and turning into a new shape as she absorbed more of the pure energy.
Her form tied to the feelings and intentions of her partner, so it initially appeared as the metal bat that called to Z'oelo.
What was happening now was unprecedented in the ranks of the Shetavi people.
His item spirit was taking on another form!
The next sensation he felt was in his arms.
Since the beginning, Z'oelo had always had the natural instincts of using his second pair of arms and as he grew up they were as easy to use as his first pair.
Now, he felt something within himself resonating with the presence of the spirit energy.
An ancient bond within his bloodline called forth another spirit partner!
He immediately noticed the unresponsive connection with the new spirit but could sense the machination behind it.
He allowed it to sit in wait until the right time arose.
It was time for the changes of the spirit energy to end as the die lost its sheen and floated back towards Null.
He allowed it to dissipate like how Muni did when she receded back into nothingness.
Z'oelo clenched all four hands he had as he breathed out with all of the tension he had garnered.
"This sensation...," he smiled for the first time in a while, "... I could get used to this."
