Hearing Grace call him 'darling' was already heartwarming, but like Oliver Twist, he wanted more.
Grace arched a brow and then sneered as she stared at the pompous man beside her. "Don't be greedy. I already gave my heartfelt gratitude."
Jace leaned back against the leather seat, feigning disappointment. "To me, it felt lacking. Where was the sincerity? The warmth? The—"
"Urge, stop being so dramatic, old man."
Jace sighed, perfectly portraying the picture of exaggerated sorrow. "Of all the kind, warm-hearted women in the world, why did I have to fall in love with someone so… heartless?"
A laugh bubbled in Grace's throat as she rolled her eyes outwardly. "Heartless, huh?" she murmured, tilting her head slightly toward him.
"Utterly ruthless!".Jace confirmed while shaking his head. "Cold-hearted… Unmoved by my suffering. Poor me."
