Chapter 265 - Meeting Finn!
Mahiro used Anti-Morbule to lure monsters across an entire floor, to complete Main Quest 3: Monster Hunter.
Simultaneously, it served to hone his skills and enhance his basic abilities.
Otherwise, he could easily unleash Balance Breaker or Apollon, for an extreme floor-wide bombardment.
Both—the Balance Breaker and Apollon—possessed destructive ranges capable of engulfing even the deep floors effortlessly.
But that would be pointless, or rather, wasteful.
Deploying these wouldn't improve Mahiro himself.
Strength, Durability, Dexterity, Agility, and Magic—the five basic abilities—required active use to grow.
Strength demanded exertion, Durability needed withstanding blows, Dexterity called for precise movements, Agility thrived on speed, and Magic grew through casting.
Fighting monsters was the prime method for adventurers to train, and given Mahiro's formidable combat prowess, he opted for extreme tactics to push his limits.
The results proved it: pressure-forged environments unleashed his potential faster.
This approach, while effective, constrained him—stifling his full arsenal to squeeze out growth.
But on the next floor, with monster strength escalating, he'd no longer need to hold back or artificially create pressure.
A sense of relief washed over him at the thought.
Spotting the Loki Familia in the distance, Mahiro used Shunpo, flashing across the battlefield in moments to join them.
"Mahiro, that was incredible!" Tiona rushed forward as he landed, latching onto his arm with unrestrained enthusiasm.
Her eyes sparkled with admiration as she beamed at him.
"What a coincidence, running into you all here," Mahiro said with a chuckle, glancing at Tiona.
"It's fate!" Tiona chirped gleefully.
"Good to see you again," Mahiro greeted, nodding to Riveria, Ais and Tione before turning to the pallum figure beside them.
"And this must be the Loki Familia's captain, Finn Deimne, right?"
"I'm Finn Deimne," Finn replied with a warm smile.
"I heard about you a few days ago, but you've exceeded even the rumors."
"No need to oversell it, Finn," Bete grumbled impatiently.
"That fight was genuinely impressive, Bete," Finn countered, his tone firm.
"Not one of us could've done better."
"Facing thousands of monsters and wiping them out unscathed—that strength commands respect from any adventurer."
"Tch!" Bete clicked his tongue in disgust but fell silent.
Though he loathed admitting it, Mahiro's prowess was undeniable.
"You've gotten stronger... or were you always this strong?" Ais asked, her eyes locked on Mahiro.
Her voice remained steady, but a flicker of curiosity crossed her face.
"I updated my status the day before yesterday and ranked up," Mahiro answered candidly.
"Ranked up?" Tiona blurted, staring at him as if trying to see through him.
"You mean that rank-up, don't you?" Tione asked, her voice tinged with astonishment.
"The day before yesterday?" Riveria mused.
"If I recall, that was just your fourth day as an adventurer."
Mahiro nodded in confirmation.
"Level 2 in three days? That's insane!" Tiona's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Didn't that break Miss Ais's record?" Lefiya gasped, her mouth agape enough to fit an egg.
"Ais, what do you think?" Tiona asked excitedly, turning to her with a grin.
"How do you feel?" Ais tilted her head, her gaze drifting to Mahiro's back.
Mahiro caught her intent. 'So, she wants to peek at my status?'
"No way!" Bete scoffed, his skepticism flaring.
"Ranking up isn't child's play! Three days? Sure, he's strong, but that's ridiculous!"
"Don't mind him, Mahiro," Tiona whispered, tiptoeing to his ear while clinging to his arm.
"This grump's just jealous."
Bete's ears twitched—his hearing catching every word despite her hushed tone—and his face twisted into a spectacular scowl.
"Hmph!" He snorted coldly, opting for silence to avoid further irritation.
"It's fine," Mahiro said with a nonchalant smile.
"It's normal for someone as great as me to stir envy."
"Mahiro, you're hilarious!" Tiona giggled.
"By the way, thanks for the support earlier, Riveria," Mahiro added, turning to her.
"Even without it, you'd have been fine," Riveria replied with a modest smile, shaking her head.
"Tanking a dozen wyverns' attacks head-on—adding the ones I took out wouldn't have fazed you."
"Finn's quick call deserves the credit too."
"Just me overthinking things," Finn said with a helpless shrug.
"I still appreciate the gesture," Mahiro insisted, offering a grateful smile.
Finn nodded, his impression of Mahiro rising further.
