Chapter 418 - Chapter 418

Somewhere in a parallel Earth, in Japan.

A 17-year-old high school student was walking down the street, staring at his phone. Suddenly, a strange water-blue, mirror-like surface appeared before him. Out of curiosity, he reached out to touch it.

However, just as his fingers were about to make contact, the mirror vanished.

"Did I imagine that?"

Rubbing his eyes, he looked around. The people around him didn't seem to have noticed anything unusual.

Shaking his head, he resumed walking while scrolling through his phone.

And so, Hiraga Saito, the original protagonist of Zero no Tsukaima, had nothing to do with the story of another world.

...

Halkeginia, Tristain

Year 6783 of the Brimir Calendar, July 15th, 14:00 PM

Inside the royal palace of the Kingdom of Tristain, a blue vortex appeared in a princess's bedroom.

Dak stepped out from the portal.

"Whoa, whoa… I really didn't mean to trespass."

Seeing that he had arrived inside a room, Dak felt a headache coming on.

As the leader of the Pokémon League, breaking his own laws like this felt ridiculous.

However, he quickly noticed something unusual.

"This world is supposed to have a medieval European setting, right? This bedroom is far too extravagant for a commoner or even an ordinary noble."

Looking around, he could tell the room's decor wasn't quite at the level of extreme luxury but was certainly not something an average person could afford.

Moreover, this was clearly a woman's bedroom—a soft, delicate fragrance filled the air, likely from some kind of magical artifact emitting a floral scent.

Without hesitation, Dak teleported away before anyone could find him.

A moment later, a short-haired, violet-haired girl, wearing a silver headband and a white princess dress, entered the room.

She collapsed onto her soft bed, sighing in exhaustion, completely unaware that someone had been here just moments ago.

Meanwhile, Dak had arrived in Tristain's capital, sitting alone in a tavern, casually flirting with the tavern owner.

In an era without the internet, taverns and inns were the best places to gather information.

Such establishments were frequented by local power players who knew the city inside and out.

"Hehe~ You've got a silver tongue, young man. Want to spend the night with me? Even Viscount Pierre couldn't have me, but I might just make an exception for you~"

The 38-year-old tavern owner, a woman with blonde hair tied in a bun, placed a hand on Dak's cheek and leaned forward, revealing a deep cleavage. She whispered seductively,

"I love beautiful young men like you."

"Honored by your offer, but perhaps another time."

Dak grinned before turning and leaving.

While his appearance remained unchanged since coming to Pokémon Island, he was still a man in his early twenties. No matter how youthful he looked, he was hardly a "pretty boy."

More importantly, thanks to Aura Sight, Dak could tell that this woman had just been with another man earlier that morning—she hadn't even fully cleaned herself yet.

Dak wasn't desperate, and he certainly had some standards.

After leaving the tavern, Dak took a moment to sort through the information he had gathered.

This world's setting mirrored medieval Europe, including its feudal system.

Here, nobles were proud and elitist, living by the motto:

"Live for honor, die for honor."

While they valued power, wealth, and influence, their public obsession with honor was unshakable.

Unlike commoners, nobles refused to beg—even if their lives were at stake.

But what truly set them apart was magic.

Magic was exclusively controlled by nobles. Almost every noble family member had some degree of magical talent.

Meanwhile, commoners had almost no access to magic.

This divide wasn't arbitrary—it was hereditary.

In the distant past, magical talent determined noble status.

This created a bloodline-based hierarchy, where only families with magical heritage could become nobles.

Over time, magic became a status symbol, fueling the arrogance of many nobles—some even refused to acknowledge that they were the same species as commoners.

Of course, not all nobles were like that. Many were simply proud yet fair, and some only upheld these beliefs to maintain their social standing.

Most main characters in this world fell into this last category.

"Hmm… let's see."

Dak glanced at his attire and sighed in relief.

Since he had been attending the Coordination Contest earlier, Robin had helped him pick out an elegant white suit with a green cape, making him look extremely noble.

Combined with his natural good looks, he already appeared to be an aristocrat—at least at the level of a Count's heir.

And as for magic? That wasn't even a question.

Dak already possessed:

Wind Chakra

Water Chakra

Fire Chakra

Ice Chakra

Earth Power

Which completely matched this world's four-element magic system—and even exceeded it by adding Ice Magic.

As for the Void Element, that was too vague to worry about.

"By this world's magic rankings… Dot → Line → Triangle → Square → Star → Hexagram, I should be at Star Level."

Dak quickly assessed his abilities.

In Zero no Tsukaima, magic was comparable to early-stage Naruto jutsu in power.

However, Naruto ninjas had superior versatility—they could use:

Clones, Substitutions, Teleportation, Genjutsu, Forbidden Techniques

Which gave them an overwhelming advantage in direct combat.

By Naruto standards, Shadow-Level (Kage-Level) was a high benchmark.

By Zero no Tsukaima standards, that was beyond the ceiling—a Star-Level magician at the very peak.

Above Star-Level, only the Void Element had any real significance.

"Alright then! From today, I am a Grand Magician and a Noble!"

Grinning, Dak cracked his knuckles.

He was already plotting how to act weak and toy with these nobles.

Feeling excited, he decided to do a 10-pull gacha roll.

[Congratulations! Acquired: Pokémon Egg x1]

"Oh? A Pokémon Egg? That means it'll be the first Pokémon in this world. Let's take a look~"

In a great mood, Dak tried to summon the egg from his system.

However… nothing appeared.

He waited 15 seconds, but the egg never materialized.

Frowning, he checked his inventory.

[Pokémon Egg x1 - Acquired]

"It's definitely there… but where is my egg?"

Meanwhile…

At Tristain Academy of Magic, Westwood Plaza.

The second-year students of the Magic Academy were gathered for a ritual.

Every second-year student had to perform this ceremony to summon a familiar, forming a lifelong contract with their chosen partner.

Once bonded, the familiar and its master would be connected until death.

And typically… the type of familiar reflected a mage's elemental affinity.
