After coming up with a method to deal with that gate, Dak returned first to the Pokémon Island.
"Where do I live?"
As soon as she followed Dak to Pokémon Island, Ilas jumped out.
Looking at the dazzling world in front of her, full of natural energy, she was already itching to run around everywhere, barely able to contain herself.
"You? Go wherever you like. You can't sit still anyway."
Dak glanced at Ilas and shook his head, not arranging a place for her to stay. "But let me remind you in advance—there are many beings in this world stronger than you. Some of them don't have the best tempers. Don't go barging into their territory uninvited. If you happen to wander in by mistake, make sure you greet them properly. Most of them are fairly reasonable."
"Okay! Got it."
Ilas nodded obediently like a child.
"Also, you'd better change that appearance. It's too revealing."
Dak pointed at Ilas's naked female form.
The image of Blemye has been utterly disgraced by them—who knows how many people over the years have seen her in this form?
"Fine. We actually don't need a fixed form—it's just for easier communication with you."
Ilas explained, then transformed into an irregular mass of cyan gas.
"Alright, go have fun. I need to take Sarasa somewhere else. Just remember what I told you."
Dak waved his hand, signaling Ilas she could go off on her own.
He wasn't planning to bring all four elemental races over just yet, so Ilas didn't need to follow him back to the magical world. Letting her get familiar with the new environment was good too.
Dak's plan was to wait until he convinced the four Elemental Kings before bringing the elves along in one go.
That would save some effort.
Afterward, Dak went to the Inland Sea and released Sarasa into the water.
Appearing on the ocean surface, Sarasa looked around, seemingly assessing the environment.
"How is it? Satisfied?"
"Very satisfied. The water is clear and rich with natural energy. There aren't many places like this left in Halkeginia."
Sarasa nodded, and her body shifted from light blue to sea blue.
For someone with her gentle yet aloof temperament, saying this much was proof enough of her satisfaction.
"Great. This sea is enclosed by the continent. There's another ocean, but its situation isn't ideal right now, so you'll stay here."
Dak gave a brief explanation but left out one important reason.
That ocean belonged to Kyogre, and many Legendary Pokémon had a strong sense of territoriality—Kyogre being a prime example.
It wouldn't want someone like Sarasa, a high-tier being, to settle in its domain.
The Inland Sea, however, was "unclaimed territory."
While Lapras and its kin lived there, they weren't territorial. They wandered, without fixed homes.
If every place had a guardian deity, then Sarasa, the Water Elemental King, would be perfect for the Inland Sea.
"Alright. I understand."
Sarasa hadn't thought too much about it.
The four Elemental Kings didn't have much desire for territory—as long as their species could survive, they were content.
Having settled Ilas and Sarasa, Dak returned Lapras, Tyranitar, and Ho-Oh to their respective Poké Balls.
He probably wouldn't be going back to teach at the Tristain Magic Academy for a while.
The experiments he wanted to conduct had already yielded results, so there was no need to remain there and waste time.
Naturally, he didn't need to keep those three Pokémon with him to assist in teaching anymore.
Before sending them off, Dak had Ho-Oh help him locate Palkia.
It would be a hassle for him to personally track down these roaming Legendary Pokémon, but it was a breeze for other Legends to do it, taking almost no time.
Maybe the divine authorities these Pokémon possessed allowed them to sense one another's presence.
Ho-Oh didn't keep Dak waiting long.
In less than ten minutes, it returned with Palkia, who had apparently been gallivanting across dimensions.
With Palkia around, there was no need for a Poké Ball.
Its mobility was top-tier among all Pokémon. It could hide within spatial rifts, making it invisible to others.
[Mystery Shop]
Dak had one more important task on Pokémon Island this time.
He was going to exchange those Regi pillars and complete the "guardianship" arrangement.
Even if they just ended up sleeping all day, they might be useful in the future.
Four pillars—all exchanged!
'Regigigas, the King of the Regis'—exchanged!
This Legendary Pokémon, jokingly nicknamed "Toilet King" by fans due to its appearance, didn't seem too impressive at first glance…
But it definitely wasn't an ordinary character.
Regigigas held a very unique rank and needed to be discussed separately from all other Pokémon.
Although its strength was awkward—it belonged to the same class of Level 1 Legends as Giratina, Dialga, Palkia, and the Weather Trio—its lore made it stand out.
Unlike those Legends, who were all related to Arceus and could be considered under Arceus's lineage…
Regigigas was different.
Arceus was inspired by the Greek god Zeus, while Regigigas represented the leader of the Greek mythological giants.
To end Zeus's rule, the giant leader led the giants in a rebellion against the gods of Zeus's faction.
But since gods are immortal, the giants were destined to lose.
From this perspective, Regigigas and Arceus are equals in rank, though Regigigas is not as powerful.
In the games, a line of dialogue during an encounter with Regigigas goes:
"Infuse the power of the Plates. The power of the defeated giant."
The Plates represent Arceus's power, and the giant refers to Regigigas, supporting this view.
Of course, there's another fan theory on forums: "Regigigas is actually formed from the eggshell of Arceus, making him Arceus's brother—an uncle figure to the Sinnoh trio."
It's a fun idea, but not very convincing.
According to the Pokédex:
"There is a legend that it towed continents with ropes. It created Pokémon resembling itself from special ice, rock, and magma."
Those three Pokémon it created are the "Three Regis."
In other words—
Having one Regigigas means potentially having many "Three Regis."
Just like the Legendary Birds and Beasts, the Regis are not limited to just one of each. There can be many in a single world.
But only the original three created by Regigigas held the authority and power of a Tier 2 god.
Creating such a Pokémon naturally required immense resources, time, and caused massive disturbances.
In the later eras of the Pokémon world, as human populations grew and harvested the islands' resources, Regigigas stopped creating new Regis.
Also, there wasn't really a need to make more.
Originally, Regigigas created the Regis in the chaotic ancient times simply because he was too lonely.
Later, his duty became guarding the Hisui Temple, sleeping in it for ages, forgetting the passage of time.
But on Pokémon Island—
Resources were more than plentiful, and even if they weren't, Dak could purchase them from the Mystery Shop or gather them from other worlds.
However, Dak didn't plan to have Regigigas make a big scene. Creating a Regi would probably take forever and wasn't worth the trouble.
One million Mystery Coins? That was nothing to Dak now.
He was no longer the little Galar kid who trembled in poverty.
'Three Regis'—exchanged!
After exchanging the four Pokémon, Dak didn't summon them immediately.
He was still in Lumiose City and didn't know how big those four "pillars" would be. If someone got hurt during their summoning, that would be a big problem.
Especially Regigigas.
This was a being that, according to ancient legends, dragged entire continents with its body. The arrangement of continents in the Pokémon world was likely tied to this ancient "pillar."
That alone hinted at its massive size.
Dragging continents isn't just about size, of course—it's more about raw strength.
Take the One Piece world, for instance—there's the "Continent Puller" giant Oars, the red zombie enhanced with Luffy's shadow during the Thriller Bark arc.
Just by size, this giant would struggle to move even a Sea King from the Grand Line, let alone a country.
So clearly, immense strength was needed for the title and feat.
Still, from that comparison, size clearly does matter to some extent.
And Regigigas didn't just move a country or island—it dragged entire continents.
Its size had to go far beyond a few hundred or thousand meters.
As for the Three Regis—
Their sizes were a mystery. They were never particularly large.
At their smallest, they were about the size of an average adult human.
So—
Dak used the power of the Door-Door Fruit to warp to the continent's edge, at the place where he had previously summoned the Weather Trio and the Ecosystem Trio.
"Come out, pillars."
Four beams of light flashed.
Three enormous Pokémon instantly formed a triangle formation, surrounding Dak.
And far out in the ocean—
A sky-shrouding, sun-blocking giant pillar loomed.
