Dak followed her gaze and his expression turned… strange.
Sister, Regice doesn't even have a gender. And shouldn't the one attracting you be Regirock?
'Wait, I almost forgot… this stone woman has no gender either.'
Dak suddenly remembered that crucial detail.
Yashan might look like a woman on the outside, but in truth, the Four Elemental Kings had no gender at all. Their current forms were influenced by the magic progenitor Blemye.
Still, the fact that Yashan had taken a liking to the Ice Pillar Regice was something Dak definitely hadn't expected.
By logic, Regice should have been closer to Sarasa.
"Yashan?"
Sothia's worldview was cracking too.
Based on over a thousand years of observation, Yashan had always been the most composed among the Four Elementals. She never imagined Yashan would experience a human-like emotion.
The Four Elemental Kings possessed consciousness and intelligence, but they weren't human.
They didn't share most of humanity's emotions, only those that aligned with their elemental nature.
Like fire's aggression, wind's freedom, water's calm, and earth's steadiness.
Other emotions were still being passively learned and understood.
Ilas, being the most energetic and outgoing, had learned the most and displayed the richest emotional palette.
But the other three? They had barely moved in hundreds—sometimes thousands—of years. They saw maybe two or three humans in an entire century, and thus had no exposure to learn emotional depth.
Especially Yashan.
Don't be fooled by how active she was now—that was only because Dak had awakened her.
Before this, she'd slept for 238 years straight. Her last awakening was just to check when the elf queen was replaced.
There was no way Yashan had developed rich emotions in that time.
Even when Sarasa's ring was stolen, Yashan had shown no anger or frustration—only calmly planned how to retrieve it. It had all been very… flat.
So when Yashan suddenly exhibited a clear sign of affection, it was extremely shocking.
"He's so beautiful… the most beautiful being I've ever seen…"
"..."
Dak tilted his head, baffled at first—but then slowly grew calm.
Ice isn't considered rock in geology, but it is a mineral, and glaciers are indeed part of the earth.
So Regice attracting the Earth Elemental King Yashan… might actually make sense?
The highest form of persuasion is convincing even yourself—and Dak had succeeded.
Come to think of it, when Tyranitar appeared, Yashan had also shown great interest. Just… not to this level.
'So the Earth Elemental King has a thing for… elemental beings related to the earth?'
Dak stroked his chin, eyes rolling.
If we followed this standard of attraction to anything tied to earth—
Then Ice, Rock, Ground, and Steel types all qualified.
Among Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, plenty belonged to those types.
Besides Regice and Regirock, there were: Groudon, Dialga, Heatran, Terrakion, Landorus, Zygarde, Diancie…
Too many to list. The purest one might just be Groudon.
If Groudon ever came over, Yashan might just prostrate on the spot.
"Being?"
Sothia blinked and looked toward the dazzling crystal in the Sacred Land.
She honestly hadn't realized it was a living creature.
If Yashan hadn't said anything, she would've continued assuming the giant crystal was what powered the invisible barrier.
"That's Regice, a Legendary Pokémon known as the 'Ice Pillar God' in our world. It holds a status equivalent to your Four Elemental Kings."
Dak was smooth with the words. "It's here to replace your elves and earth tribe in guarding the Sacred Land."
Anyway, the backstories of all Legendary Pokémon on Pokémon Island were essentially written to match his personal script now.
So if he said so—then that would become Regice's mythos.
In Dak's eyes, the Four Elemental Kings on Pokémon Island, at best, were on the same level as Tier Two Legends. Same as Regice. No problem at all.
"God?"
Sothia gave the giant crystal a thoughtful glance.
If Dak was right, then this Regice must be incredibly powerful.
She couldn't quite imagine it—only accept the word "god" and let that shape her expectations.
"Regice…"
Yashan murmured the name, stone sliding over stone on her body—clearly deeply stirred.
"Right, the Tyranitar and Ho-Oh you met before each had divine titles too: 'Sandstorm God' and 'Rainbow God.'"
Dak nodded and summoned both Pokémon to appear before Sothia again.
This was to give her a rough sense of Regice's level of power.
He would never go into Tier One vs. Tier Two classifications—that kind of ranking would cause issues among Pokémon Island's fans.
Every "Primordial God" on Pokémon Island had followers, even bordering on cults. Declaring rankings would only hurt the weaker gods' reputations.
"I see. If it's on that level, then I really don't have anything to worry about."
Sothia let out a breath of relief.
She had seen Tyranitar's terrifying sandstorms and Ho-Oh's eternal flames.
Those creatures were true gods—far beyond anything the elves could face.
With beings like that protecting them, what was there left to worry about?
If a foe came along that could defeat such beings, the elves wouldn't stand a chance anyway. They'd just be cannon fodder.
The burden that had long weighed on Sothia—and on her entire race—finally lifted. She felt light as air.
'The elves are finally… free.'
"Alright, back on topic. You should check the barrier's sealing strength."
Dak spun around, suddenly recalling the actual reason they were there.
"No need to check. Yashan's behavior tells me all I need to know. If even the Earth Elemental King can't get through this barrier, then no one can."
Sothia pointed to Yashan beside them.
Yashan seemed to have lost all reason, her body driven by instinct. She kept smashing her stone-covered body into the barrier.
"Mm, there's a third safeguard. I'll tell you now."
"Among the Four Void Mages, two are… problematic. One wants to rule this world, the other wants to rule the world beyond the gate."
"I plan to imprison both in our world, keeping them alive to prevent Void Power from transferring."
"The other two are different. One is technically my student. I'll explain the severity of the situation. Knowing her, even in death she wouldn't let that power fall into the wrong hands."
"And the last one…"
Dak turned to look at Sothia.
"What?" Sothia was completely absorbed in the explanation. When Dak paused, she felt uncomfortable.
"You must have a niece or a younger sister, right?"
Dak was thinking about Tiffania's lineage.
Tiffania Westwood—that was her full name.
The defining trait of this half-elf girl was… well-endowed.
(Hard to find a suitable image…)
Her father was Oburu Montmorency, a former prince of the Tristain Kingdom.
He was also the current Grand Duke of Tristain, and Princess Henrietta's uncle.
Not only that, but he was descended from a princess of Albion who married into Tristain, making him a distant cousin of Prince Wales from Albion.
Though… he was now deceased.
That meant Tiffania was Henrietta's cousin, and also Wales's.
This royal bloodline connection was why Tiffania had inherited the Void—which normally only appeared in the royal family of Albion.
Her mother was Sharuru, meaning "Pearl" in Elvish.
She was from the elven royal family—but her exact relation to Sothia was unclear.
"I have many younger sisters and nieces. Anyone with royal blood counts as my junior, even if just barely."
"What about Sharuru?"
"Sharuru? Doesn't ring a bell… Wait, I think my great-granddaughter once mentioned a great-grandniece with that name."
"...Right."
Dak's brain glitched for a second as he remembered something important.
The woman in front of him might look like she was in her twenties—but she was over a thousand years old.
But still…
"Aren't all elves… women? How do you reproduce?"
Dak:
Dak was stunned.
He had assumed elves used some magical method—like drinking special water—to get pregnant.
But the truth was far more shocking than he'd imagined.
Sothia, completely unfazed, reached out and hooked her finger under Dak's chin.
"Of course, normal male-female reproduction works. We just don't like birthing half-elves. But for strong males… we're willing to make exceptions. Want to give it a try?"
"I'm interested… but maybe in a few years. With my status, having children right now would be… complicated."
Dak gently pushed her hand away.
He wasn't lying. As the League Champion, with his near-deity status among this generation—
Any child of his would be immediately seen as the next Champion.
People would forget Luffy, Naruto, or Esdeath in a heartbeat.
But Dak didn't want his child to inherit power through his shadow.
He wanted them to earn their place.
Like the saying goes—
"It's not about becoming Hokage to be acknowledged. You have to be acknowledged first, to become Hokage."
If his child ever became a League Champion but turned out to be a fool dragging the world into ruin…
Dak wouldn't wait for others to act. He'd clean house himself.
His bare minimum for a League Champion?
"You don't need to be great—but at the very least, maintain the peace."
If they couldn't even do that—then step down.
He suspected those short-lived second and third Champions Charlotte once mentioned were probably removed by his own hand for failing that standard.
