Chapter 333 - 332.5 and 333. Drake and Dragonair

Ash then spent some time Ciel and them doing whatever she wanted to do, which more often than not involved sex.

————

Departing from Mossdeep City, Ash and his party embarked on their sea journey again. This time their destination was to go to a nearby island to participate in the Pokémon Contest they will be holding there.

Ash was still short of his last official Pokémon Contest Ribbon, and May on the other hand was is still short by two from her needed five. They are both determined to win this Pokémon Contest, well more so trying her best for May.

"Welcome!"

The group soon landed on a nearby island on their way and found a restaurant to sit down to actually have some restaurant quality lunch for a break. Unexpectedly, it was James that came up to them to take their order.

Seeing Ash, he subconsciously gave a bright smile.

"James." Ash looked at him and smiled at him. It looked like the Rocket Trio had been in this island for a while considering James was a manger in this good spot. This was of course a good for them, and Ash was actually quite happy to for them and not causing his group any problems.

"Yes, Boss, what do you want to order?" James responded with a wry smile after he finished greeting the rest of the group.

"So I want some—" as Ash was saying, he looked at the floating Chimenchi next to James, "That Chimecho of yours is a very good one, I can see that you two have a great relationship, I'm happy to see this."

Speaking of his Chimecho, James immediately became more energetic than ever, "Of course, even if I have suffer a little more, I won't let my dear Chimecho stay hungry!"

"Chi~Mecho~"

Chimecho once again emits a calming ringtone.

Meowth's craftsmanship was indeed good as the new head chef of this luxury restaurant. Ash and his party were full and had a wonderful meal and talk with the Trio.

"Thanks for the tea!"

After ordering some more tea, the group decided to take a break from this.

Brock asked out of curiosity, "By the way, May, Ash, who are you going use to compete with in the upcoming Pokémon Contest?"

May doesn't have many options, but Ash had caught a lot of Pokémon along the way, and trained every one of them very well to a level far above the others.

Fortunately, Ash doesn't have that difficulty in choosing as most of his Pokémon's were real battle oriented and he did have a very good for Pokémon Contest on hand.

"La la!"

Ralts looked very happy while holding the candy given to her by Ash.

Seeing this, Asv smiled and said, "Then I'll go with my little Ralts for the time being."

"Well... we have been traveling at sea quite a bit recently, and my Gorebyss is also ib very good conditions. But the conditions of my little Bulbasaur, Combusken, Beautifly, and Skitty are also very good! It's so nerve-wracking to have to choose from one of them."

May was still a little hesitant in her choice. Each of her Pokémon has been doing very good recently in battles and training, and she was very confident about achieving good results on this Pokémon Contest. Even if she encounters someone impossible like her boyfriend, she was confident in able to hold herself and learn some new things from him.

"The most important thing about any Pokémon related thing is the coordinations and the tacit understanding part between you and your Pokémon's. Your partner should be just as determined and and good decision makes as you are! Hahaha!" As the small group were chatting amongst each other, a tall old but string looking man in a captain's uniform came over and said his piece of mind very clearly.

Seeing this man, Ash's eyes suddenly lit up in the signs of his Exchange Points.

[Ah, shit. Here we go again.] Ciel said in a voice that said she knew what was about to go down, which she 100% did know.

Max opened his mouth and asked him just to confirm his suspicion, "Excuse me, but are you Mr. Drake from the Hoenn Elite Four?"

Ever since he was able to meet Steven and Lance because of Ash's connections and powers, Max had made sure to learn a lot more about the Elite Fours and the Champions of the Hoenn Region, not just the Hoenn Region, but also quite a few others, but he didn't still know that Ash had already battled and defeated the Hoenn Regions Ice-type Elite 4 member with his newly evolved Manectric at that time.

Hearing that Max recognized him, Drake also smiled and said, "So you know about me! Hahahaha!"

He then looked at Ash's eyes with his own burning eyes, "You are Ash Ketchum," he said it more like it was a statement rather than a question, "I heard both Steven and Glacia talking about you before and just how strong you were. You even used that Manectric of yours to beat up one of Glacia's Walrein, she was so dazzled when she was taking about you. You are indeed the very capable young man they spoke off! Hahah! And yeah, thanks for taking care of those goons running around our region, I was too busy finding new lands to deal with them! Hahah!"

"Huh, Big Bro, when did you battle and defeat Glacia of the Elite 4?" Max's eyes suddenly widened in shock. He had always been very close to where Ash was, so how he gave missed such a big battle?

Instead, it was May that remembered her from when they were with each other, "Babe, was she that lady that you battled in Mauville City when we were in our date?"

Ash smiled at her and then nodded, looked at Drake and said with a smile, "Well Glacia didn't use all of her strength, and I also didn't use my main team, so it wasn't that big of a deal."

Hearing this, Drake looked at Asb and nodded in a new light of recognition, and invited him, "If you don't mind, do you all want to come and see my boat? Me and my boys have recently come from a long exploration of a new island on our outer cost!"

They had to go!

Just how can they miss something like this? This was like going to a real pirate ship for them.

Drake was also known as the "Man of the Sea" other than his Elite 4 titles and all that comes with it. His boat was also an eye-opener for Ash and his party, just like how boisterous he was.

Looking at the brigh light in Ash's reddish brown eyes, Drake smiled and said, "How about it, Ash, how you like this? No matter what kind of strong winds and waves my ship encounters, there is no need to be afraid of them! Hahah!"

"Mr. Drake, I really do hope that one day taht I can use a big battleship facility like this for traveling as well." Ash really had a thing for cool looking ships, and his eyes were always bright when he saw a good one.

{Who here likes a good ship/boat?}

Hearing this, Drake also nodded and laughed loudly while saying, "Yes! Ash, as long as you think about it, you can definitely achieve it! Hahah!"

"Mr. Drake, can we please see some of your Dragon-types Pokémon's?" Max was very curious about what a TRUE Dragon-type Elite Four members Pokémon's would look like.

While he did meet Lance, Lance only showed his Dragonites off and the others were all Flying-type.

"Alright then!" Drake agreed easily, "But it's too boring just to watch them. Ash, are you interested in battling against me and my Pokémon's?"

Of course, Ash would not refuse an invitation to battle, especially from someone of Drake's caliber. As his strength continued to improve at such an alarming rate, those usual regular Trainer battles were really not satisfying to him anymore, it was all such a drag.

He was beginning to regret not taking advantage of the Team Aqua and Team Magma incident to not fight against Lance again. That really could have given him some extra Exchange Points again.

"Then our battle will be a three-round battle, and the first person to win two of the rounds will be the winner of the match!" Drake set the rules, that is, each person has three Pokémon, and the winner will be decided when one person winds two rounds.

In fact, Ash had already used this method in many Gym Battles and other Pokémon Trainers to give more of his Pokémon's opportunities to practice and earn real experience.

Drake's disciple and crew member also served as the referee as they were used to his antics, and their battle begins immediately.

"Ash, I will use this guy for my first Pokémon!" As the more senior one, Drake naturally sent out his Pokémon's first, "Come out, Shelgon my boy!"

Shelgon was the pre-evolution form of the very powerful and menacing looking Salamence, one of the two Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon's of the Hoenn Region along with the famous Metagross. Under that thick carapace of his, its cells are constantly undergoing many division and reorganization all at the same time, just to give birth to those majestic blood-red crescent moon dragon wings it will have in the future.

Of course, this is one of the Pokémon's that Ash was determined to catch no matter what.

But the training and growth process of Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon's is really too long and energy-consuming, almost as bad as if they were compared to those young Legendary Pokémon's or Mythical Pokémon's for some reason.

Drake is already so old with decades of experience of being a Trainer and an Elite 4 member, but he only has one Salamence so far, his absolute Ace, followed by this Shelgon as the second.

Since he had to fight a Pseudo-Legendary, Ash didn't have a time to choose which Pokémon he needed to send out for the first battle.

"Stand by for battle, Dratini!"

Ash had already faced the pre-evaluation of this Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon, Shelgon, before in a battle, but the level of that Bagon was simply too low. Dratini went up to battle it and defeated it instantly without even needing to hear Ash.

But Drake's Shelgon was obviously much more powerful in all ways.

"Ash, I gotta hand it to you, you raised an extremely exceptional Dratini. I don't think even that Lance kids Dratini was this strong when he was your age! Hahahah!" Drake said in a cheerful voice, shocking everyone in his crew.

Ash didn't dare to be careless despite knowing he still had the advantage in attacks and speed, "Dratini, use Blizzard!"

This was an Ice-type skill that Dratini has learned a few months ago from his Lapras. It had an outstanding effect on Shelgon, who was a pure Dragon-type Pokémon.

Seeing Ash's quick reaction and especially his Dratini, Drake frowned. He couldn't help but want to stop and give some advice to the younger generation, but he just couldn't find any faults with Ash's approach. As a Dragon-type Pokémon Trainer, he could instantly feel Dratini's pure and very noble dragon blood that definitely surpassed his Shelgon and most likely his Ace Salamence, too.

"Shelgon, use your Dragon Breath!"

"Shelgon, use your Dragon Breath!"

Drake's loud and extremely passionate voice shocked almost all of his crew members and disciples on the ship.

Their Captain was actually burning with fighting spirit when facing someone they didn't even know. Just who is this boy?

They had no idea who he was as they were in the middle of nowhere with Drake for the past half a year or so. Most of them didn't even hear the whole Kyogre and Groudon incident even happened.

The collision between the Dragon Breath and Blizzard created a small scale explosion that pushed both of the Dragon-type Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon's backwards.

However, in such a close range explosion, Shelgon, who had the much higher defense, obviously had the advantage.

This is also the reason why Ash was using Special Attacks to attack Shelgon from a further distance away.

He has trained Dratini into the real magical dragon that he knew knew them to be, using skills such as Flamethrower, Blizzard, Thunderbolt, and Ice Beam very skillfully, but by no means does that make Dratini a bad Physical Attacker, it's just that at his current stage he isn't that good.

"Light Screen!"

Shelgon's mobility was very limited because of its short legs and the heavy carapace-armor around its whole body. Since he was facing such a Pokémon, it meant that he needed to adapt his tactics to be able to resist more of Shelgon's Special Attacks, so Ash decisively set up a Light Screen.

The Light Screen move lets the user to be much more resistant to incoming Special Attacks, while there was another skill like this called Reflect, which is able to help resists Physical Attacks instead of Special Attacks.

This two and another move known as Barrier were the main specialty of the Pokémon known as Mr. Mime.

Within a certain period of time, this Light Screen will provide very important Special Defense for Dratini while it attacks from its own side.

Drake couldn't help but nod silently to Ash's command, while it may be simple, it was also very impactful in this battle and many types of other battles, "Shelgon, use your Headbutt attack!"

As soon as his order came out, the crew members exclaimed again.

They knew their Captins tactics and powers far too well. This Shelgon had been with the crew for many years now, but it was still a cocoon. Yes it had a terrifyingly powerful defense, but this also made its speed inconvenient as a turtle.

Therefore, its usual tactic was always to withstand the opponents attack while waiting for an opportunity to counterattack from far away or when an opponent approaches, it will deliver a powerful close range blow.

But now, it was their Captain that was actually the one to launch such an attack.

They thought this was basically like giving up their best advantages in favor of going in for a single attack.

But only Ash and Drake himself understands that why he is ding this.

What Drake wants is minor— I mean the side effect of that Headbutt can deal to the opposition. He wants Dratini to flinch even if it is for a second and be unable to move to dodge the next attack.

And Headbutt was also a Physical Attack, so Light Screen cannot provide any protection from this at all.

"Dratini, use Draco Meteor!"

Ash's fighting spirit was burning hot. Dratini, who had a super high Bond Value with him despite being only in his first stage of evolution, wouldn't cower so easily from such a move. With blazing red fire in its eyes, he very easily ignored Shelgon's Headbutt attack and was beginning to gather a large amount of very pure Dragon-type energy like crazy.

'Draco Meteor! I remember Ash's Rayquaza had also used this before some time ago on that Kyogre!' Brock remembered the exciting scene when Ash used both his Rayquaza and the original Groudon to beat Kyogre up.

BOom!

The large meteorite contained a terrifying amount of destructive Dragon-type energy exploded from the sky, turning into countless meteorites swarms and heading towards the entire ship!

"That doesn't look good at all!"

The crew members were very frightened, they were quickly throwing out their Poké Balls and trying their best to protect their ship, their home.

"Everyone, stand down!"

Drake shouted to stop them, "Shelgon, use Protect!"

It was the Protect of Shelgon, the future French Croissant Pseudo-Legendary who was known for its defensive scales. Shelgon jumped up towards the sky and faced the incoming attacks from the sky!

The green energy shield he used actually enveloped almost half of the ship.

Dratini's Draco Meteor attack was merciless and hit the energy shield hard, and Shelgon was immediately swallowed up by the smoke!

"YES, HAHAH!!"

Drake suddenly shouted in acceptance and saw his Shelgon falling in front of him almost unharmed. Shelgon's exposed eyes were full of flames of fighting intent, this was his pride as a pure Dragon-type Pokémon.

The rest of the meteorites were destroyed by the crew while Ash himself used his Psychic powers to move the smaller pieces to land on the sea next to them.

"Ash, you really are stronger than I gave you credit for!" Drake couldn't help but praise, but launched another attack, "Shelgon, use Dragon Pulse!"

Sure enough, another Special Attack was launched.

But this time, Ash did not continue to use his own Special Attacks to fight back the opponents attacks. Instead, he gave a different order, "Dratini, use Dragon Tail!"

At this moment, Dratini had already completed all the molting possible and has grown to nearly 3 meters in length. After evolution, a well developed Dragonair was only about 4 meters long.

The long cyan energy tail was wrapped in his blue dragon slippery scales, and the originally slippery body became more ferocious. It easily swept the incoming Dragon Pulse away with one sweep of its tail.

"Thats so cool!"

Max couldn't help but get excited, despite not even being part of the battel.

At that moment, they clearly felt that the entire ship was shaking, as if another Draco Meteor was about to come crashing down towards them again.

Drake looked at Ash and his Dratini and showed a clear frown, then suddenly becomes a little more relaxed, "Shelgon, use Flamethrower!"

It turned out that battles between two very powerful Pokémon Trainers can easily becoming increasingly difficult to understand, just who count have known that?

Everyone watching their battle was already confused, now even more confused, if that was even possible. The battle between Ash and Drake did not follow the rules they used at all, well list of them.

Now Shelgon was using his Flamethrower attack, which was not that effective against Dratini.

But Ash seemed to be getting more and more excited, even Drake looked very excited about what was to come, "Dratini, use Extreme Speed!"

The Extreme Speed of Dratini should have been able to easily be able to avoid the incoming range of the Flamethrower, even without the need to use it, but now it seemed that Dratini was the one to be rushing into the flames. Without any hesitation.

Ash's eyes were blazing with excitement, almost as if it was about to emit bright light.

"Dratini, take the next step towards becoming the real Dragon King!"

Just when Brock and the others finally understood what was happening and looked over with expectation, the dazzling light of evolution was released from the blazing flames where Dratini just was!

"DRAGG!"

Dragonair was know to be a very gentle Dragon-type Pokémon, in fact one of the best, but at this moment, inside of flames from a dragon, there was nothing but the sound of a frightening dragon roar!

It seemed as if the entire ship was collapsing under this new power!

"Just now, both Ash and Mr. Drake saw that Dratini has reached the edge of evolution, so Mr. Drake cooperated with Ash to continuously stimulate Dratini's potential and help it complete its evolution! Such an amazing sight for me to witness again!" Brock had already understood what was going on, no wonder the orders from the twi of them later on in the battle was becoming more and more increasingly unclear.

It wasn't about defeating the other, but about making each other stronger with every blow.

The dragon flames had stopped, but the light of evolution was now becoming even more dazzling!

The illusory body shape was constantly stretching, until it grows into a giant serpentine dragon of more than 5 meters. Its aura was simply terrifying, it was completely different from the Dragonair that Claire had when it evolved in front of them.

This one had a much more pure and advanced dragon bloodline that can give people the feeling of a dragon prying at their necks.

The white small circular horn on its forehead popped out first, and the small wings on both sides of the head also appeared, and expanded to the size of true draconian wings, flying into the air with pride and power.

As if there was a big bang, the light of evolution suddenly exploded, revealing the true appearance of Dragonair at this moment.

It is covered with sapphire blue-like dragon scales, and the dragon beads at the lower end of its neck are shining with purple lightning, and there were now three more behind its tail, one more than the two that appears no matter what.

This was a mutation, a great one at that.

These two, now three, dragon balls contains the power to control the weather nearby.

At the moment when be finally finished hai evolution, the bright blue clear sky above them all suddenly became covered with dark clouds and was now full of powerful electricity!

Dragonairs were worshiped and are still worshiped in some part of the world because they can control the weather and help the farmers populous have a greater harvest.

Ash's Dragonair had an extremely high concentration of dragon bloodline that now it can instantly change the weather with just a mere thought, instead of needing to expend on its energy.

Drake stared at Dragonair now flying in the sky, "Hahaha! I never expected to see such a scene in this lifetime! Thanks, Ash! Hahah!!"

He then looked more closely at Ash and wondered in his mind just what kind of more powerful Pokémon this young man had.

Especially that Pikachu of his, while it looked docile, his eyes reflected more power than his Ace Salamence and Steve's Ace Metagross.

To bring a Dragonair to to such a high level, it's hard to imagine how much effort and time Ash really put in it .

While he was busy looking at Ash, Ash himself was busy looking at his flying Dragonair and laughing wildly. This is what he has been looking forward to for a long time, closer to a year now.

He worked very hard to get his hands on the Dratini with the greatest potential from the Dragons Den before the Silver Conferenc. But now, he had almost completed his journey in the Hoenn Region, and now was finally the time for the evolution of Dratini into a Dragonair.

But everything was worth it in his eyes. All the hard work had paid off in the form of his Dragonair. It was too strong for its stage. Whether it was its own strength or the strength from his pure dragon blood, it was powerful beyond even his own imagination!

Ash can't wait to see his Dragonair's current power!
