They came out into a hexagonal space with stairs at each point. The rumbling began and they had to make a decision.
"Should we wait for the shift or pick stairs?"
Solomon shrugged. "You made this one too complicated."
"Stop saying I made these things!"
Solomon smirked as he followed her to a set of stairs.
They swam out to a shallow pool within a cave with three sets of stairs. For a split second they thought that they had been put back into the previous maze but they soon realized that this was not a multi level maze. They were just underground in a rock cave.
They saw that all three sets of stairs were different. One was made of rock, one of dirt, and one was covered in roots and vines. Rachel kept avoiding the roots and vines staircase, imagining herself tripping every other step and finally gracelessly falling up the stairs.
She sighed and led Solomon to the root-vine staircase.
