Rachel walked forward unwaveringly. The bright streams of light hitting surfaces within the hall like deadly projectiles. They walked through the maze like Rachel had lived her entire life there. Turn after turn she did not hesitate. She did not need to consider. She no longer needed to mentally rest. She was a woman on a mission and it was absolutely clear to her.
They came to a pedestal on a circular area within the maze. She looked to Solomon and he nodded and readied himself. Rachel placed the gem onto the pedestal and the entire world seemed to tremble. Gently at first and then stronger and stronger until everything was violently shaking.
Both Rachel and Solomon stood their ground like seasoned sailors in a strong hurricane. The entire left half of the circular room lowered and Solomon smelled a smell he had not known in over a thousand years.
