Inside the apartment, Emma walked up to Tony and hugged him tightly.
Then she muttered, "I'm very sorry about what I said. I just got scared about our future, and I said things I didn't mean."
Tony just let out a deep sigh. "It's fine. Just forget about it."
Emma, shorter than Tony, held his neck and reached for his face, planting kisses on it as she muttered, "Are you sure? I'm sorry, ok?"
Tony pulled his face away, clandestinely dodging her kisses. Having other things on his mind at the moment, he gradually grew frustrated and yelled in annoyance, "I said it's fine! Leave me alone!"
Immediately, he tore her off him and walked away, into their bedroom.
Outside, Nick heard everything and just sighed and headed for the stairs.
Tony just needed some time to accept the reality of the current hardship he faced, along with the loneliness, frustration, and anger that accompanied it.
After all, Nick had constantly experienced such firsthand for approximately five years now.
