Early in the morning two days later; in the Hokage building;
While walking toward the Hokage office, Naruto kept thinking about what type of mission his sensei will give him.
The last three days were relaxing for his mind after his latest mission. The first day went by without any hitch. After Naruto left Itachi and his company, he went to his favorite ramen stand and ordered a lot as it became one of his favorite meals that he eats from time to time. He also met the owner Teuchi's daughter for the first time. She is a young girl around his age who was helping her father around the stand.
The next two days he returned strong to his usual routine of Training and studying. He also started working on making variants of the chidori and other new Jutsu with the help of his shadow clones.
If you asked Naruto, which are his favorite jutsu?
He would say that Shadow clones are definitely one. That jutsu helped him a lot in training and to reach where he is at today. His Great-granduncle really did make a master piece of a jutsu.
As Naruto reached the office door, he proceeded to knock.
"Come in" came a reply from the inside
Naruto opened the door and as he entered, he sweat dropped at what he is looking at.
His sensei looked miserable while surrounded by paperwork. Come to think of it, He always saw the Sandaime Hokage miserable in his office. Even though the Hokage seems to always be the strongest shinobi and a great honor, The workload that comes with it is a nightmare that could make the young grow old in a couple of days.
'If the way things are operated in this village doesn't change, you won't catch me with in that position or on that chair. Nuh uh.' Naruto thought to himself while mentally shaking his head.
Naruto then smile slight with at hint of pity and said: "Good morning, Saru-sensei."
Hiruzen looked up from his papers towards Naruto and smile tiredly before saying: "Good morning, Naruto-kun."
"You seem to have your work cut out for you, sensei." Naruto said
"You don't even know, my boy" Hiruzen said with a sigh
"Then can you give me a mission so I can leave you to finish?" Naruto asked to which Hiruzen nodded
"This never finishes" Hiruzen muttered silently as pulled out the missions list
"Did you rest well, Naruto-kun?" Hiruzen asked as he looked through the list
"Yes, I did. I was able to get over what happened, Sensei." Naruto replied
"That is good." Hiruzen said as his eyes stopped at a particular mission before getting a piece of paper and started writing on it.
After a few seconds, Hiruzen held out the paper to Naruto before saying: "Take this and give it to Mission Assignment Desk. They will give you the mission scroll as I don't have it in my office."
Naruto took the paper and read it swiftly. He got a questioning look on his face as he looked at Hiruzen and asked: "Who is Tora? and Why do I need to capture him?"
Hiruzen got a mysterious smile before replying: "That is for you to find out."
"Fine, Saru-jiji. Keep your secrets. I will be leaving." Naruto said to which he received a nod from Hiruzen before Naruto Left the office.
An hour later; in the streets of the village;
"I will get you back for this, old man." Naruto said to himself as he looked at the description of the cat he is looking for while also keeping an eye for it.
Yes, a cat. Hiruzen has assigned Naruto a D-rank mission, to look for the missing cat of the wife of the fire daimyo.
When Naruto gave the paper he received from Hiruzen to the Chunin at the Mission Assignment Desk, the chunin gave him the mission scroll with an amused smirk telling him to have fun finding the demon cat.
Now, Naruto has been looking for that cat for about an hour before he made a change in his approach.
Under the use of the transformation jutsu, Naruto entered a pet shop while disguised as an old lady wanting to buy treats for her cats.
After buying a good amount, Naruto left the shop and entered an alley. He then dropped his disguise and made a dozen of shadow clones. After distributing the cat treats between them, they nodded to each other and disappeared in different directions using body flicker.
About half an hour later; in the Hokage's office;
"Tora, My baby" Said Madam Shijimi happily as she hugged the cat tightly.
Naruto cringed at how tight the hug is as he spotted the poor cat shed a tear. Now he knew why the cat always runs a way.
To him the cat wasn't that bad. It is just a bit on the aggressive side. But when he and his clones showered it with treats and pets, the so called 'Demon cat' became an obedient kitten.
Hiruzen until now can't beleive his eyes. His young student came back with that damned cat in less that two hours, crushing the old record by a mile. And the way he entered the office with the cat purring in his arms, Hiruzen was truly lost for words.
'That cat had been alive since I was a Hokage and it was never nice to anyone, How does Naruto do it?' Hiruzen thought with his mouth slightly a gape.
"Tora"
Hiruzen was taken out of his thoughts when he heard the madam call out. He saw the cat jump out from her arms into Naruto's own.
'What in the seven layers of hell!' Hiruzen exclaimed mentally.
"Madam Shijimi, If you hug you cat this tightly it will always run away. Try holding it like this." Naruto said as he showed her a comfortable hold for the cat before handing her the cat back.
The madam tried it and smiled widely when she saw her cat getting comfortable in her arms for the first time.
"Thank you. I can finally make my Tora happy. what is your name, young man?" said Madam Shijimi
"Naruto Uzumaki. Glad to be of service, madam." Naruto said politly
"Well then, I will take my leave, Hiruzen-dono." Madam Shijimi said as she turned to leave to which Hiruzen nodded with a bit of absent mind.
"Madam Shijimi" Naruto called making her stop and turn to look at him.
"We are always available to take care of your lovely cat. I can also teach it some tricks anytime you want" Naruto offered with a polite smile.
"That is lovely, Uzumaki-kun. When I need that, I will definitely be in touch." The madam replied with a wide happy smile as she waved goodbye before leaving.
Hiruzen is forzen still in slight horror at what just happened. Naruto's polite smile to the madam, seemed to be the devil's smile to him.
He was initially happy when Naruto made that cat comfortable with the madam, thinking that the rein of terror of the demon cat would end. But Naruto's offer shattered all of that. That offer promised more problems and paperwork to him.
"See you later, sensei. I will see you tomorrow for a new mission." Naruto smirked slightly towards the stunned Hiruzen before leaving the office.
Hiruzen looked at the closed door of his office as he remembered something.
Don't prank an Uzumaki or the retaliation would be where it hurt.
