Shin was standing at the battlements of the castle, staring at the crimson dawn. He sipped on his large mug of coffee, looking at the castle's backyard with a grimace. Princess Alicia was training on something important, and she was failing.
Besides training to make her barrier magic as powerful as possible so she can withstand the dragon's breath, saving her and the soldiers' lives in the process. Shin had to train her on what to do after her barrier shatters. She can't remain there in front of a rampaging dragon, can she?
The drill was simple: each day, she ran until she couldn't anymore, and in the exhausted state, she had to roll away, run to the edge of the courtyard, mount a horse, and ride it away while being pelted by stones thrown by Alian.
When her barrier shatters, she is bound to be exhausted to the bones. If she can't run away to a horse, as Shin expects her horse to die in the dragon's fire or at least be unable to run, then she'll die.
