People came throughout the day, saying their final farewells to her. Harry stood beside the casket, holding an ancient family claymore in his hands as he stood in his vigil. It was a ginormous sword, the blade was 42 inches in length with the whole sword being 55 inches from tip to pommel. It was a family weapon, having been in the clan for many many years. When Harry first saw it, he remarked that she did not use it during the battle and had not been shocked when she said the only reason she did not was that it was in storage for safe-keeping. Since then, however, she had it cleaned and restored and had it hung in her office 'should the need for it arose and she needed it at hand'.
He really was going to miss her.
The day was one of the longest in his life. Not because he stood there from the early morning to the evening, not because he held the very heavy weapon all day, but from seeing everyone come in with differing levels of grief and how they mourned. ..
