[Mini Story : Forgetting]
No one's POV
At Fairy Hills, Erza wanted a glass of iced water. She opened the fridge and saw that the bottle was empty. Annoyed, she left the dorm and went to find Sonic, who was sleeping in a tree in the garden.
Erza (angrily): SONIC!!!
Sonic (startled awake): Whoa, what is it??
She threw the empty bottle at his face, and he fell out of the tree.
Sonic: Ouch! Why did you do that?
Erza: You forgot to refill the water bottle!
Sonic: Wait wait, so you walked all the way from the kitchen to here just to throw an empty bottle at me because Chip forgot to fill it?
Erza (grabbing him by the collar, furious): I don't care who's supposed to fill the bottle, but that's the last time I'm thirsty with no iced water. Next time, things are going to get ugly, got it?
Sonic (scared): Yes, ma'am!
Sonic took the empty bottle and went to find Chip, who was sleeping in their room. He threw the bottle at his face, waking him up.
Chip (startled): Huh? What's going on??
Sonic (angrily): Why didn't you refill the water bottle?! Because of you, Erza chewed me out!
Chip: Wait wait, so you came all the way from the garden to our room to throw an empty bottle at me just because you forgot to fill it?
Sonic: It's not my job to refill bottles! I already do enough sweeping and mopping.
Chip: The last time you cleaned was a year ago! You spend half your day checking out the girls in the dorm and stealing underwears.
Sonic: Ah, true. But still, that's no excuse.
Chip: Fine, I'll refill the bottle.
Sonic went to the bathroom. After relieving himself, he reached for the toilet paper-but the roll was empty.
Sonic (facepalming): Why does this only happen to me?
He called Chip, but he was too far away to hear him.
Sonic: Come on, Sonic, there has to be a way to get some toilet paper.
Meow-a cat's meow caught his attention at the window. It was a gray cat stuck in a tree. Sonic looked at it for a moment.
Sonic (calling to the cat): Kitty kitty, come here little cat.
A few minutes later, Sonic found Chip and threw the empty toilet paper roll at his face.
Chip: What now?!
Sonic: Why?
Chip: Why what?
Sonic: Why didn't you change the toilet paper?
Chip: Oh, I forgot!
Sonic: It's always like this with you!
Chip: So how did you clean yourself?
Sonic: Why do you want to know? That's none of your business.
Chip saw the neighbor's cat walking in through the window.
Chip: Since when is the neighbor's cat brown?
He looked at Sonic, eyes wide.
Sonic: What?
Chip: You didn't... you didn't dare...
Sonic: Dare what?
Chip: Why is the cat brown?!
Sonic: It's always been brown.
Chip: But it's originally gray?!
Sonic: Maybe it molted. Some animals do that.
Chip: Felines don't molt!!!
Sonic: What do you know? Are you a zoologist?
Chip: Can you at least pretend to admit that you used the cat as toilet paper?
Sonic: No. Anyway, it's your fault for forgetting the toilet paper.

Sonic's POV
I teleported to the guild after hearing the bad news Wendy had to tell me. I burst open the guild doors and was met by serious and sorrowful faces. Everyone was looking up toward the infirmary. I continued without a word, opened the infirmary door, and saw a scene that almost traumatized me. Laxus and the Raijin team were bedridden, looking pitiful-like they were dying.
I walked toward Laxus's bed and fell to my knees just as he opened his eyes.
Me (confused): What happened?
Laxus: While protecting Mr. Yajima, a member of Tartarus attacked us with curse particles. I tried to protect everyone by absorbing the poison.
Me: Did you even think for one second how dangerous that was??
Laxus: What do you think? Was I supposed to let my comrades die?
I didn't know what to say to that.
Laxus (smiling): Don't worry. I'm tough. I'll be healed in no time.
Me: Looking at you, we're already wondering how we're going to bury you.
Laxus laughed but started coughing. I gave him a glass of water from the table beside him.
Me: Sorry. I should have come with you.
Laxus: No way! I wouldn't stand it if you ended up like me.
Me: Laxus...
Laxus: So where were you?
I explained my adventure in Mobius and the current situation.
Laxus: Then what are you doing here?
Me: Huh?
Laxus: Get out!
Me: What? Why?
Laxus: Mobius is falling apart and you're here whining over me.
Me: But a disciple should care for his master in times of crisis!
Laxus: I'm not a baby that needs babysitting. My name's not Sonic.
Me (annoyed): Ha ha, very funny.
Laxus: Enough talk. Go save the world!
Me: Got it!
I left the room and found myself in the guild hall again. I found Master Makarov and explained the Mobius situation, Chip's memory loss, and the connection between Gaia and Tartaros.
Makarov: Hmm, I see. We need to prevent Face from activating to stop things from getting worse.
Me: Where's Natsu?
Happy (worried): We rushed off to save Erza and Mirajane, but he ended up getting captured in a giant cube owned by Tartarus.
Lucy: Lisanna was also captured.
Me: You haven't located them yet?
Levy: The cube is heading somewhere specific, but we don't know where yet.
Carla: So you don't remember anything, Chip?
Chip: Umm... no, sorry...
Me: We'll recover your memory after reactivating Gaia's temples.
Wendy (determined): This time I'm coming with you!
Carla: Me too!
Me: Perfect. Now let's get going... (I saw my body and Chip's begin to glow) Uh, what's happening??
We were instantly teleported to Professor Pickle's office at Spagonia University.
Me (annoyed): Are you serious??
Rimuru: Why did you leave so fast?
Me: Laxus had an accident...
Rimuru: Oh, I hope Grandpa's okay.
Me (sad, surprised): Me too... WAIT-GRANDPA?!
Rimuru: He looked after you like a father, didn't he?
Me: Fair point... anyway, why did you teleport us by force?
Rimuru: Because we found one of Gaia's temples.
Me (annoyed): With your supreme powers, not surprising. By the way, why was it the same day on Earth when two days passed here?
Rimuru: I altered space-time. Now one week on Mobius equals one day there.
Me: One week, huh? Two days already gone...
Chip: That leaves five!
Rimuru (smirking): Think you can save the world in five days?
Me (determined): You bet! I love a good challenge. Let's go to the first temple!
He opened a portal. Chip and I entered and found ourselves in Mazuri, where we had rescued Professor Pickle before.
Chip: But we've been here before!
Me (annoyed): At least you remember that.
Chip: Huh?
Me (pointing ahead): Never mind. Look!
We saw Eggman and his robots confronting villagers.
Me: Looks like we've found our mustached friend.
I dashed in and landed four Homing Attacks, destroying the robots.
Dr. Eggman (surprised): Sonic?!
Me: Yo, Eggman. Thanks for that skydiving adventure last time.
Dr. Eggman (angry): I figured you'd survive.
Me: What are you doing here?
Dr. Eggman: Why should I tell you? It's none of your business! Now excuse me-I've got other things to do. Farewell !
He flew off in his Egg Mobile.
Chip (shouting): Hey, that's not fair! Come back!!!
Me: Don't worry about him. (To the villagers) Are you all okay?
They nodded and thanked me for saving them.
Me: I have a feeling he knows about the Gaia temples too.
Chip: What do we do, Sonic?
Me: We find the temple before he does!
A few minutes later, we found a large road that wrapped around the baobab trees above us. We used the road and after running for quite a while, we found our mustachioed friend in his Egg Mobile, accompanied by a sort of giant ant robot with large pincers serving as mandibles.
Me: Eggman!
Dr. Eggman: Oh, you were pretty quick to find me. No matter-crushing you will be even faster now.
His big robot turned around and faced me. I stopped. The Egg Mobile entered the robot's head.
Dr. Eggman: Behold my new weapon-Egg Beetle Go!
The robot clicked its pincers together. Chip joined me and we started our battle.
[Okay, this time I won't skip this boss-I'll do it my way.]
The Egg Beetle began to back away. I chased after it at full speed, waiting for an opening. The robot works because of Eggman's Egg Mobile, which controls it. I just have one thing left to do. Just as it was about to hit me with a pincer, I dashed into it, sending it bouncing away wildly. I had time to give it another electrically charged uppercut and a solid right kick. It got back up and launched several missiles at me. I dodged them by slowing time with my speed. Explosions echoed on both sides, causing tree branches to fall on the village.
Chip: Sonic! If this keeps up, the village will be destroyed by the falling branches!
Me: Then we'll hit him from the air. Let's fly, Chip!
I stopped, getting ready to be grabbed, but he looked at me confused.
Me: Don't tell me you forgot how to change your wings into Exceed wings!?
Chip (surprised): I can do that?
I facepalmed just before being thrown into the air by one of Eggman's pincers. I fell but remembered my technique to change the property of my lightning. I threw a lightning rope that let me climb back up to the road, just as Eggman was about to strike me with his pincers.
Me: Thunder Dragon's Roar !
I unleashed a roar that sent him flying into a baobab tree, where he exploded, launching Eggman's Egg Mobile far away.
Chip: Sonic, look over there!
He pointed beneath us, and I saw a giant temple with colorful banners all around. We both jumped and landed in front of the entrance.
Me: So how do we open it?
Chip approached the lock. Suddenly, the orb on his chest started glowing, and we felt an earthquake. Then, the door began to open.
Me: Even though you lost your memory, your magic still works, apparently.
We entered an ancient space with glowing green, indescribable drawings on the walls. Continuing on, we found a pedestal with flames lit around it. Chip approached and looked inside.
Me: Wait, that might be a kind of-
Another earthquake. Chip, scared, hid behind me. A second pedestal rose from the first, with a hole in the middle. I approached and placed the emerald on it. It began to glow green before levitating and regaining its brilliance.
Chip: Wow, it worked!
Me: Six more temples to find-but knowing Rimuru, this'll go fast.
Another larger tremor shook the ground.
Chip: What's happening now??
The earthquake stopped a minute later. As we headed to the exit, Rimuru joined us, coming out of one of his portals.
Rimuru: Dad, Chip, I've got great news!
Me: Great! What is it?
Rimuru (taking out my tablet): Look at this!
We watched a video of one of Mobius's fragments being restored.
Chip: That's awesome!
Me: That explains the earthquakes.
Rimuru: I already found the second temple. It's hidden somewhere in Spagonia.
Me (surprised): Really??
Chip: We had a temple under our noses this whole time?!
Rimuru: I was more surprised than you at first.
Rimuru brought us back to Spagonia. It was already night, so I was forcibly in my werehog form. We were back in the town center.
Rimuru: While you look for the temple here, I'll find the location of the others.
Me: Awesome. We're counting on you!
He disappeared. Wait, he has that many powers??? He really might be someone who could go toe-to-toe with Zeref someday.
Chip: Sonic, look over there!
We saw people panicking. It got weirder when I noticed their eyes glowing purple. Chip began taking pictures and paused suddenly.
Chip: Uh, Sonic?
Me: Yeah?
He showed me the photo, and I saw purple monsters instead of the people.
Me: They're possessed!
Chip: Free them!
Me (annoyed): Hey, do I look like an exorcist to you?
The people fainted and the monsters left their bodies. I rushed them.
Chip (snapping pics): It's a horror carnival out here!
I used my Jupiter magic and unleashed a roar that disintegrated them all in one blow, though I also destroyed a few buildings.
Me: Ah, crap.
Chip: Sonic!
Exhausted, I decided to sleep in a room with Chip and continue our search the next day. I was too tired to go on. The sun rose, I turned back into my hedgehog form, and after eating, we set off again.
[One Rooftop Run Act and a Devil Ray Boss later]
We found the temple entrance in the city's sewers. Chip opened it again and we entered. At the pedestal, I placed the emerald, which glowed blue and regained its light.
Chip: Five more to go!!!
Me: Let's keep going!
Another tremor-another piece must've been restored. We returned to Spagonia University and found Rimuru, who teleported us again, this time to a new area-I think it was China. It was daytime and we arrived at "Chun-nan", the Dragon Village.
Because of Chip's growling stomach, we had to find the nearest restaurant. We were served tofu and enjoyed it until there was only one piece left.
We stared at each other before lunging for it. Our chopsticks clashed. Chip pointed behind me to distract me and tried stealing the tofu. I yanked it, but it resisted even after leaving the plate. We pulled so hard the tofu flew out. We both jumped, but Chip shoved me aside and ate it mid-air-then landed headfirst in a vase. I laughed as he struggled to get out.
???: But what do we do about all these monsters at night? We can't just sit back when we've lost our most precious treasure.
I heard a conversation that caught my attention.
???: It's been two days since Zonshen ventured into the jungle and he still hasn't returned.
I couldn't see who was speaking-there were too many people.
???: Zonshen promised to retrieve Chun-nan's treasure. We have to trust him.
Zonshen? Treasure? Maybe it's connected to Gaia's temple. I hope so.
Me: Chip, get out of there. Remember, we have to find the temple.
Chip poked his head out of the vase but couldn't escape. I broke the vase to free him and we began exploring the village.
[One Dragon Road Act Day and Night later]
It was nighttime again. I was back in werehog form. We found the temple in a bamboo forest. In the middle of a clearing, I saw an unconscious man next to a glowing orb with a dragon shape on it. I jumped toward him, but a bird-like creature brushed past me, cloaked in flames-like an angry Natsu. It perched on a platform and screamed. I got ready for battle.
[One boss fight later-sorry, I'm not here to replay awesome gameplay]
I approached the unconscious old man who woke up two minutes later.
Chip picked up the orb, and suddenly we felt another tremor that opened the temple door. We entered and I placed the emerald, which regained its red glow. When we came out, the phoenix had transformed-it was yellow and looked peaceful.
Zonshen: When the temple reactivated, the beast awoke. Looks like it regained its senses.
Me: I see. Your mission was to protect the temple. You must've gone mad when the emeralds lost their power.
The bird let out a cry, as if to confirm I was right.
Chip: It's good to see you. Want some chocolate?
Chip gave the bird some chocolate. It flew above the temple.
Me: By the way, are you Zonshen?
Zonshen: Indeed. And you are?
Me: Sonic the Hedgehog.
Chip: I'm Chip!
Zonshen: Nice to meet you. Thank you for saving me. Thanks to you, I was able to retrieve this.
He showed us the orb Chip had taken to open the door.
Me: What is it?
Zonshen: The treasure of Chun-nan! Our most precious item and protector of our village. Legend says a dragon turned into this orb after losing its powers while protecting the village.
Chip: Wow.
Me: Probably one of the dragons that disappeared like the others.
We brought Zonshen back to town and teleported to Spagonia. The next morning, Rimuru teleported us to Alaska. Thankfully, I don't fear the cold, so I didn't need warmer clothes. My tablet vibrated and I saw Wendy's icon-I answered instantly.
Me: Yo!
Wendy: Finally I managed to reach you!
Me: What's going on?
She explained the destruction of the guild and their raid on the cube that belonged to Tartarus.
Me: Alright, but where are you?
Wendy: After discovering that Face was activated, I went with Carla to stop it manually.
Me: ARE YOU CRAZY?! YOU WENT THERE ALONE???
Wendy: Lucy was supposed to follow us but she got held back by one of the demon gates, luckily Natsu is there to help her.
Me (sighing): Are you sure you can do it?
Carla: Well, don't you trust her?
Me: We're talking about disabling a dangerous magical weapon here, who knows what could happen?
Wendy looked at the ground before suddenly screaming, I saw several insects flying around her. She started running off somewhere and then stopped, out of breath.
Me: What happened??
Carla (annoyed): She had a bug on her leg.
Wendy: They were scary!!!
A drop of water hit her neck, she started screaming again and ran off somewhere else before stopping again.
Wendy (panting): Why does this only happen to me?
Me (laughing): Are you serious? You were running so fast I felt like you would've outrun me if we were racing.
Wendy pouted. I saw a shadow behind her.
Me (serious): Wendy, slowly turn around.
Wendy: Huh?
Me: Do what I say!
She looked behind her, the shadow charged at her, she dodged, dropping the tablet. The video started glitching.
Me: Oh no no no, Wendy can you hear me?!
Wendy: What the... Sonic... he...
The call cut off.
Me: Wendy? Wendy?? WENDY!!!
Chip: Can't we go help her?
Me (angrily): She didn't tell me where she was and I can't guess either.
Chip: We should continue our mission.
I felt a surge of hatred build up inside me.
Me (giving him a cold stare): You think there's something more important than saving Wendy?
Chip shivered. I calmed down.
Me (sighing): We can only hope she's okay. Let's go.
I started walking ahead, he followed 15 seconds later.
Chip: I'm sure she's fine, plus someone else is with her.
Me: Carla.
Chip: That's her name?
Me: Yeah.
Chip: So why are you worried?
Me: Fairy Tail is going through a rough time and I'm not even there to help. I'm just out here sightseeing.
Chip: Why do you think that? Did you forget what the professor said? If we manage to reactivate all the temples, we'll prevent the awakening of the tenth demon gate. Do you think it would've been better to let the others get killed by yet another gate after already exhausting their strength?
Me: ...
Chip: Sonic, I still don't remember you or Fairy Tail, but I know we must always follow the path we believe in.
Me (starting to smile): You almost sound like Master Makarov. But you're right, I won't mope while I'm on a mission that could save us.
We resumed our journey and found a village in the middle of the ice fields. The path was long and dangerous because I had to run over water - not easy with ice and whales chasing me.
[One Cool Edge Act Day and Night later]
After fighting off Gaia monsters, we found the temple entrance.Something froze in front of us then broke free - a sort of worm with a dragon's face, a bigger Gaia monster. I charged, but it created a shield that blocked me on its platform. I cut the power with a burst of electricity. I moved closer - it slammed me with its chin. I got back up, grabbed a barrel nearby and threw it at it. It froze suddenly, and I took the chance to strike the final blow.
Me: Dragon Slayer Secret Art : Wrath of the Infinite Storm!
Several blue lightning bolts pierced it from all directions, followed by a massive one from the sky. It collapsed, defeated. Everything calmed down. We entered the temple and I placed the emerald, which regained its cyan glow.
Chip: Three temples left!
Me: We're almost there.
Our bodies started glowing, and we were teleported again - this time in front of Rimuru, but we weren't in Spagonia anymore. We were in an office overlooking a desert and a city.
Me: Where are we?
Rimuru: Welcome to Shamar. This is Professor Pickle's second research center.
Professor Pickle: Indeed. It's also where the next Gaia temple is located.
Rimuru looked sad for a moment.
Me: What's wrong?
Rimuru: Sonic... I have news to tell you...
Me: Yeah? What is it?
Rimuru: The first Face has been destroyed...
So Wendy and Carla succeeded?
Me: That's awesome!
Chip: I knew we didn't need to worry.
Rimuru: But...
Me: But what?
Rimuru inhaled and exhaled deeply before continuing. I suddenly felt an emptiness that disturbed me.
Rimuru: Wendy and Carla... didn't survive the explosion...
A heavy silence fell for three minutes. The sentence kept repeating in my head. Wendy and Carla... didn't survive??... What do you mean they didn't survive... They can't be... No... No, it's not possible... I must be dreaming... They can't be...
Me: Rimuru... take me back to Earth.
Rimuru: Huh?
Me: I said take me back to Earth.
Rimuru: But I can't...
Surrounded by a dark aura, I slammed Rimuru against the wall, knocking down several books.
Me (furious): WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T?! YOU CAN TELEPORT ME ANYWHERE BUT NOT TO HER?!
Rimuru: But Dad... she's gone...
I hurled him against a wall with all my strength. He crashed through several buildings before landing in a wide field outside the city. I slowly walked toward him - my color had changed from blue to black and my green eyes were gone. Honestly, I didn't mind.
Rimuru (getting up): Dad, don't let hatred take over. You haven't lost everything...
I punched him in the stomach, launching him 50 meters until he crashed into a rock, cracking the wall.
Me: You fool... THEY MEANT EVERYTHING TO ME!
I punched the wall harder, and a massive boulder fell on Rimuru.
Me: I don't need your help to save this damn world.
I left him in the rubble. This time... no one can stop me.
[Mini Story : A Mission For Team Dark : Part 1]
No one's POV
At Sabertooth, Shadow was sipping coffee at the bar, chatting with Sting and Rogue about Minerva and Jienma.
Sting: I got a letter from Erza. She recently saw Miss Minerva in a village of giants.
Rogue: I still can't believe you deciphered her threat-letter.
Shadow: I think she wrote it well. I even sent her a thank-you letter.
Meanwhile at Fairy Tail, Wendy saw Erza trembling as she read a letter.
Wendy (worried): Erza, are you okay?
Erza (scared): Uh yeah, yeah don't worry...
Wendy: But you're sweating a lot!
Erza: Let's say I worked out a lot this morning...
Back at Sabertooth.
Shadow: She's gonna love it.
Sting and Rogue smiled nervously. Yukino joined them with a letter bearing Shadow's symbol.
Yukino: Shadow, I think this is for you. I got it this morning with the mail.
She handed him the letter. Shadow opened it and instantly closed it again.
Sting: You're not reading it?
Shadow: I just did. It's a cleanup mission from GUN.
Yukino: A cleanup mission?
Sting (teasing): What, do you have to dress up as a waitress and clean up?
Shadow kicked him in the crotch, knocking him out.
Shadow (raising an eyebrow): Anyone else got a dumb joke?
Rogue and Yukino: No sir!
Shadow: Good. We're going to Sandopolis. Eggman has a base there supplying him with weapons. Our mission is to destroy it.
Rogue: We?
Shadow: Who else do you think?
Minutes later, Shadow, Sting, Rogue, Lecter, Frosch, and Yukino arrived in the desert after taking a portal ring. The base stood before them.
Yukino (using binoculars): There are robots guarding the entrance. What do we do?
Sting: Easy - we charge in!
Lecter: Totally agree!
Frosch: Fro thinks so too!
They all ran toward the base. The robots spotted them and started shooting. Shadow and the others took cover behind pillars.
Rogue: How do we get past them now?
Shadow (annoyed): Someone should turn into a shadow and sneak in to destroy them.
Rogue thought for a second. Shadow facepalmed, grabbed an AK-47, and started shooting the robots.
Sting (surprised): Since when do you have a gun?!
Shadow: Always have.
They advanced as the path cleared. Suddenly, a larger robot emerged - a 5-meter-tall machine with a spiked ball as its left arm and Eggman's logo on its belly.
Shadow: The guard dog.
Sting: Man, I wonder how many robots he makes per day.
The robot jumped at them. They all dodged and spread out. Sting shot a white beam from his left hand, but it had no effect. Rogue used a shadow spear - nothing. I launched a Chaos spear - it only made it flinch.
Yukino: What if we attack together?
Shadow: That's exactly what I was hoping for. You start!
She summoned Libra, the spirit of balance, who immobilized the robot. The machine scraped the ground and hurled rocks toward us.
Shadow: Twin Dragons - now's your chance!
Sting and Rogue ran, dodging rocks. Close enough, they unleashed a combined roar that destroyed the robot's arms.
Lecter and Frosch: Shadow!
Shadow curled into a ball, bounced off rocks, and from up high, crushed the robot. It exploded into pieces.
Lecter: We did it!
Frosch: Yay!
Sting: Honestly, that was easy!
Rogue: We can go in now!
Yukino: There are probably even more dangerous robots inside...
Shadow: Team Dark - Move out!
