Uchiha Gen's kindness had its limits. He couldn't save all of Konoha — nor did he want to.
He wasn't a saint.
And he certainly wouldn't waste his efforts on the diehard supporters of Fugaku.
If those fools still chose to follow Fugaku after all the good his family had done for the clan, then what was there to say?
Let them die heroically on the battlefield.
Better that than watching them die in internal conflict later.
Gen knew that once this war ended, his father, Uchiha Chiichi, would rise as the new clan head.
But knowing the old patriarch's stubbornness — and Fugaku's relentless ambition — Gen suspected internal strife was inevitable.
If conflict was unavoidable... better to let those loyal to Fugaku fall in battle than become casualties in a civil war.
That way, their deaths would at least carry some honor.
Still, Gen didn't plan to let all of Fugaku's followers die. Maybe 50-60% would be enough.
Those who survived would see Fugaku's incompetence for what it was.
If they didn't... well, Gen had other methods to make them understand.
"If I have to... I'll brand them with the Mark of Submission," Gen thought grimly.
He didn't want to use such measures on his kin unless absolutely necessary.
"I just hope you don't force my hand."
"Izanagi?"
Chiichi's brow furrowed.
"But Izanagi costs a Sharingan to activate... And it requires sacrificing your sight. Can you really afford that?"
"And just how much chakra did you burn creating all these talismans?"
"Calm down!" Gen chuckled, raising his hand to stop his father's worries.
"I planned ahead. Remember, I've been refining my spiritual energy into pupil power every day. I stored plenty in advance."
"That's not enough!" Chiichi snapped.
"This is over six hundred talismans! Each one carries the power of a three-tomoe Sharingan!"
"Even if your chakra control is exceptional, that's still a huge drain. Don't do something reckless and destroy your future!"
"Show me your Sharingan!"
Rolling his eyes, Gen activated his Six-Tomoe Sharingan.
The crimson glow flickered, the tomoe swirling with impossible precision. The sheer pressure of his chakra made Chiichi's breath hitch.
His father's worry melted into awe.
"You're fine..." Chiichi muttered, relieved.
"Don't scare your old man like that!"
"You're scaring yourself!" Gen grinned.
"I've been preparing for this for a year. Every day, I stored excess pupil power in specialized sealing scrolls. What I used now? Barely one-tenth of what I saved."
"You... you crazy genius..." Chiichi exhaled, shaking his head in disbelief.
"But even with all that preparation... how did you manage to bypass Izanagi's sacrifice?"
"It's not quite the same," Gen explained.
"I rewrote the technique. My version uses stored chakra and pupil power to trigger the effect without consuming the Sharingan."
"I call it... Mystic Art: Izanagi."
Chiichi's eyes widened.
"A new version... without the blindness cost?"
"Exactly," Gen nodded.
"As long as the 'rewrite window' is short, I can limit the chakra cost."
"Impressive," Chiichi muttered.
"Wait... if this works... can I use it too?"
"Not yet," Gen warned.
"You'll need to unlock the Six-Tomoe Sharingan first, and for that, you need to refine your mental energy properly. Otherwise, you'll burn yourself out."
Chiichi sighed in frustration.
"Fine... but if I get there, you're teaching me."
Gen grinned.
"Deal."
"Still..." Chiichi's expression darkened.
"Even if you can fake their deaths... where will you hide the survivors? They can't just waltz back into Konoha without raising suspicion."
"I thought of that too." Gen smirked.
"I found a valley deep in the mountains near Takigakure. I've stocked supplies and built some shelters with ninjutsu."
"Every talisman is linked to that location. Anyone who 'dies' will be teleported there automatically."
"Smart," Chiichi nodded.
"But we still need to keep their existence a secret."
"That's covered too," Gen explained.
"I've added a Mind-Sealing Jutsu to the talismans. Once they're bound to someone, the individual physically can't reveal the talisman's existence — not even under genjutsu or interrogation."
"Unless someone like the Sage of Six Paths or Kaguya shows up, no one's breaking that seal."
Chiichi let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding.
"That's... incredible."
His eyes shone with pride.
"Alright! I'll gather the clan members and bind the talismans immediately!"
"One more thing," Gen added.
"Just because this can save you doesn't mean you should get reckless on the battlefield."
"If you 'die' and disappear, it'll be hard to return without exposing everything. So don't go playing hero."
Chiichi chuckled.
"Alright, alright! I'll behave."
Not that he hadn't already considered pushing his limits... but if Gen was warning him, he knew better than to take it lightly.
Later that day, Gen handed additional talismans to Uchiha Hiroshi, Uchiha Mikoto, and their allies.
"Take these," Gen told Mikoto.
"One Death Talisman for you, and ten Teleportation Talismans for emergencies. Stay safe out there."
"Thank you, Gen..." Mikoto smiled warmly, then surprised him with a kiss on the cheek before running off, blushing.
By evening, Gen had distributed talismans to his closest friends and family — including Kushina, Tsunade, and even Kurenai.
He wouldn't risk losing the people he cared about.
When Tsunade accepted her talismans, she gazed at Gen with bittersweet eyes.
"It's a shame my brother didn't have you back then..." she murmured sadly.
"If he'd had one of these... Nawaki might still be alive."
"I'll fix that too," Gen promised.
"I'll find a way to bring him back."
"You mean that?" Tsunade's voice trembled with hope.
"I do," Gen said firmly.
"If I can create these... I can figure out how to master resurrection techniques too."
"Thank you, Gen."
Tsunade hugged him tightly, tears threatening to spill.
"You've done more for me than I can ever repay."
"You don't owe me anything," Gen smiled softly.
"Family takes care of each other."
Three Days Later...
Mist Shinobi had breached the Fire Nation's borders.
Kumo, Iwa, and Suna had all declared war.
Konoha's forces scrambled to defend three fronts.
Orochimaru commanded the Mist front.
Jiraiya and Tsunade led the forces against Suna.
And Danzo — under Hiruzen's orders — held the line against Iwa.
"War's finally here..." Gen muttered, gazing at the sky.
"But we're ready."
