Uchiha Gen withdrew from his epiphany with a look of astonishment, joyfully digesting the newly realized cultivation method in his mind.
"With this Water Elemental Cultivation Method, deducing the elemental practices for the other attributes will be much easier. The real challenge always lies in the breakthrough from nothing to something. Although each attribute has its unique properties, they share many common benefits. Elementalization is simply that."
He paused, then continued, "However, the practice itself comes with demanding prerequisites. You must first refine your Water Nature Transformation and achieve Ultimate form change before you can reliably activate the rapid Water Elemental method. The requirements far exceed even those of the Hōzuki Clan's hydration secret technique!"
Uchiha Gen frowned slightly, knowing full well that his own method, while powerful, was not a direct copy of the Hōzuki technique. The Hōzuki method forcibly transforms one's physique into a pure water attribute—allowing one to alternate between human and liquid form at will as long as Chakra reserves last. By contrast, my method refines and purifies the water attribute within the body continuously, enhancing Water Style ninjutsu without forcing a complete elemental conversion. In short, even after water elementalization, my body remains predominantly human, avoiding the severe limitations seen in the Hōzuki art.
Over the next several days, Uchiha Gen devoted himself to practicing his Water Elemental Cultivation Method. He spent five days in a row pushing his Water Chakra Nature Transformation to its Ultimate state. "Next, I'll derive cultivation methods for the other four elements," Gen declared. With that, he shifted his focus, spending days refining his Earth, Thunder, Wind, and finally Fire elemental techniques. In successive phases, his understanding of each attribute's Nature Transformation and shape change advanced dramatically. Two months later, Gen had perfected these techniques one after another.
"Balance among the elements is the proper path!" Gen exclaimed, feeling the steady improvements in his body and blood flow. His vortex Sage Body—once dormant—now showed signs of regeneration and new strength.
"I might even be able to develop additional elementalizations later—ice, wood, space, even a yin–yang synthesis—to further complement our repertoire," he mused, a broad smile lighting up his face.
Later that day, Uchiha Gen gathered with his clan at the Uchiha compound. Over a meal, he explained the significance of his breakthrough.
"These elemental cultivation methods are not merely for combat," Gen explained. "They strengthen your body, refine your blood, and even affect your natural vitality. In time, this could define the new limit of our bloodline's power."
His words stirred mixed reactions among the clan members. Uchiha Mikoto and others marveled at the promise of such progress, while some older members frowned in skepticism. Still, most recognized that with these techniques, even those who perished on the battlefield might one day be resurrected—if only anonymously—to continue serving the clan.
"In fact," Gen continued, "if necessary, I can use a special Death Talisman technique to rewrite fate—at the cost of some pupil power—to grant a temporary reprieve from death. And thanks to my recent advances, that cost is minimal compared to what you might expect."
He paused, then added with a mischievous grin, "Imagine being able to feign death without permanently losing your Sharingan—just enough to survive a critical moment and return even stronger!"
At that moment, Uchiha Chiichi asked, "And what about our casualties? How many of our comrades have we lost on the battlefield?"
Uchiha Qianyi replied grimly, "Five have died, one is permanently disabled, and many more are injured."
Gen waved dismissively. "Don't worry—the supplies I've stashed here will see them through, and I've already drafted follow-up plans. And if necessary, I can modify the Death Talisman to even revive those too severely wounded."
Later, Uchiha Gen gathered his subordinates for further training. He distributed additional Death Talismans and Teleportation Talismans among his brothers and sisters.
"Bind one Death Talisman to you and one for Sister Mikoto. For Teleportation Talismans, you must bind ten on the battlefield and leave one in reserve," he instructed firmly.
Grateful, Uchiha Hao and others accepted the gifts, each determined to honor the secret arts and strengthen the clan.
Before dismissing the assembly, Gen looked around and said, "Remember: these techniques and talismans are for our clan's survival. You must never let their secrets leak out. I've already embedded spiritual seals to protect them. Your lives—and our future—depend on it."
A murmur of agreement rippled through the group.
"Now, get to work!" Gen commanded. "Prepare for your next mission, and remember, your progress is the key to restoring our true legacy. In time, you will be able to reconnect with your families openly—and our clan will stand united once again."
