The crowd was astonished to see a woman standing in their way.
Taking in her clothes, they paused.
Her clothes weren't cheap. Yet they weren't expensive either. That meant she was middle-class.
And if she was middle-class, then surely she knew someone or even several people of high standing. Someone like that, they couldn't afford to offend without reason.
Standing at the forefront was a scrawny red-haired man who looked like a trader.
Frowning in anger, he lowered his stone and huffed, "What? Is she your mother? Unless she is, you have no right standing in the way of justice!"
The boy with Aurelia also nodded and whispered to her, "When I said I wanted to follow you, I didn't mean to die! So do us both a favor and let's get out of here!"
Aurelia ignored them both, turning to the old woman sitting on the ground.
The cocoa pods and gold jewelry were scattered over her clothes.
Aurelia stared into her eyes, frowning slightly.
