Liam's POV:
I didn't know how long I had slept, but when I woke up, I was in a very unfamiliar room.
"Where am I?" I questioned no one in particular.
The first thing I noticed was the black ceiling. My gaze moved around the room—every inch of it was drenched in black, from the walls to the expensive interiors. Yet, despite the darkness, there was something strangely peaceful about it. The energy in the room was different, though I couldn't quite tell what it was. Even with its somber palette, the space held a kind of elegance.
But there was something else.
I was… different. Very different.
The first thing I noticed was the silence—not just in the room, but within myself. Memories of Alexis, Zeke, and Roman crawled into my mind. There should have been pain. I should have felt something. I remembered the agony that had wrapped around my ribs when I touched Alexis, the exhaustion dragging me under like chains in deep water. But now… everything is gone.
