Chapter 128: The Gathering Storm

Back at the docking bay, Raizen stood near the corvette, arms crossed as he waited. The trade hub bustled around them, yet his focus remained on Nyx. She had revealed just enough to pique his curiosity, but there were still too many unknowns.

Selara stood beside him, eyes scanning the crowd. "Something feels off."

Raizen nodded. "We're being watched."

Nyx finally arrived, her confident stride unwavering. "Your instincts are sharp. That's good—you'll need them."

Kain and Joran returned from their supply run, crates in hand. "We got what we needed," Kain said, eyeing Nyx. "Who's the new guest?"

Raizen smirked. "Someone with answers."

Negotiating Truths

Nyx leaned against a cargo container. "The faction after you? They're called the Oroboros Syndicate. They specialize in hunting and 'acquiring' rare bloodlines."

Liana frowned. "And why is Raizen on their list?"

Nyx's red eyes gleamed. "Because he's more than just a Draconic Hybrid—he's the last heir of a lost Tier 9 civilization."

Silence fell over the group.

Raizen inhaled sharply. "Explain."

Nyx's smirk faded. "Your planet—your true home—wasn't just any Tier 9 world. It was one of the few that held ancient Draconic archives. When it was destroyed, your bloodline should've ended with it. But you survived."

Selara's voice was low. "And now they want him."

Nyx nodded. "They've been tracking remnants of your kind for years. If they capture you, they'll either use you... or erase you."

Raizen's fingers tightened into fists. "Then they'll fail."

Preparing for the Inevitable

Liana checked the ship's systems. "If they're after us, we need to move."

Nyx shook her head. "Running won't stop them. You need power, and you need allies."

Raizen met her gaze. "And you're offering what?"

She smirked. "A lead—on an old Draconic outpost that might have what you're looking for."

Raizen considered it. A gamble, but one worth taking. Finally, he nodded. "Then let's move."

As the corvette prepared for departure, Raizen knew one thing for sure—this fight was far from over.
