Chapter 129: Shadows in the Void

The corvette cut through hyperspace, its engines pulsing with steady energy. Raizen sat in the command seat, watching as Liana finalized the approach vector toward the Draconic outpost Nyx had mentioned. The weight of recent revelations still lingered in his mind—his lost heritage, the Oroboros Syndicate, and the unknown dangers ahead.

Nyx leaned against the bulkhead, her crimson eyes flickering in the dim light. "You seem quiet."

Raizen didn't look at her. "Just thinking."

She smirked. "About your past? Or the people hunting you?"

He finally met her gaze. "Both."

Arrival at the Forgotten Outpost

A soft beep from the console pulled their attention. Liana exhaled. "We're coming up on the coordinates."

The ship dropped out of hyperspace, revealing a massive, derelict structure floating in the void. The outpost was ancient, its hull scarred by time and battle. Faint blue energy flickered around its perimeter, signaling remnants of active defenses.

Joran whistled. "That thing looks like it's seen better centuries."

Seraphina narrowed her gaze. "There's power running through it. Someone—or something—has kept it operational."

Raizen tightened his grip on the controls. "Then we move carefully. Nyx, what are we walking into?"

Nyx studied the outpost for a long moment. "A tomb. A vault. Maybe both."

Selara smirked. "Sounds like fun."

A Descent into the Past

The corvette latched onto one of the remaining docking arms, metal groaning under the ship's weight. As the airlock cycled, Raizen and his team readied their weapons. The moment the door hissed open, they stepped into a dark corridor lined with faded Draconic runes.

The air was stale, heavy with history.

Liana activated a scanning drone. "There's still an energy signature running deep inside."

Nyx's voice was low. "Then that's where we go."

As they moved forward, Raizen could feel it—something watching. Something waiting.

And whatever it was, it had been expecting them.
