Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Today the Mister and Madam are Very Angry

By the time night fell, Lily Turner disguised herself before leaving the apartment. Worried about incidents like the previous night, she didn't dare drive her own car back, instead opting for a taxi.

Nearly an hour later, the car steadily stopped in front of a villa.

After paying and getting out, Lily stood hesitantly at the gate, unsure of how to face her family inside. Her stepfather was the kind of person who cared deeply about his reputation, and her mother always sided with him, seeing him as always right no matter what.

Due to her unique profession and the Thompson family's special background, this wedding had attracted public attention early on, with reporters eager to dig up exclusive stories.

Who would have thought it would end up like this...

After peeking into the courtyard for a long time, Lily finally pushed the gate open and went inside. The further she walked, the more her heart rose with anxiety. By the time she reached the door, her heart was in her throat.

All the lights in the house were on, and through the large floor-to-ceiling windows, Lily saw the situation inside.

Except for her younger brother William, who was in middle school, the other three family members were present.

Her stepfather, Christopher Turner, was sitting with his back to the windows, so Lily couldn't see his expression and didn't know whether he was angry or not.

In her heart, she thought: Stepfather must be angry, today's wedding was such a grand event, yet she, the bride, didn't show up. Did that jerk groom not show up either?

Thinking of her betrayal by Henry Thompson, Lily's mood suddenly turned bleak. How could he do this to her? What exactly did she do wrong to make him say such humiliating words to her?

She didn't even know how many times she'd been accused of cheating on him. Doesn't he know how hurtful it is to hear those words from his mouth?

Even though she was in the chaotic entertainment industry, she had always been self-respecting. All her achievements and fame were earned through her own effort, little by little, without taking any shortcuts or relying on the industry's known rules.

"Second Miss!"

Hearing someone call her, Lily instinctively turned toward the voice. As soon as she turned, the gloomy emotion on her face vanished, replaced by a calm expression.

"Aunt Hua! You're here."

Lily gestured for Aunt Hua, the maid taking out the trash, to come over, indicating she had something to ask her.

Aunt Hua, holding a full plastic bag of trash, walked over quickly, "Second Miss!"

She had many questions in her heart, but didn't dare voice them out loud due to her position.

"Aunt Hua, are my parents particularly angry today?" Lily didn't beat around the bush. She didn't have the time or energy for that now, so she asked directly.

Aunt Hua nodded: "Today, the Master and Madam are very angry, and the in-laws are also very angry, insisting that Master and Madam give them an explanation. If they don't provide a satisfactory reason, the in-laws will definitely take action to seek justice on their own. Second Miss! How could you..."

She was about to say more, but swallowed her words forcibly.

"I understand, Aunt Hua. You go about your business, thank you for telling me this." In her heart, Lily was a mess, but on the surface, she forced herself to remain calm.
