Violet blinked, registering that.
Could he be a relative of Sylas?
Both of them had the same eyes yet they were so distinctly apart. While Sylas's steely-blue depths were gentle— resembling a calm ocean surface under the moonlight— the other man's ones reminded her of a ferocious storm, waiting to engulf and destroy everything.
Violet quivered.
It was too frightening.
As the man scrutinized her, Violet did not dare to breathe. She counted in her head nervously, waiting for him to remove his gaze from her.
Sylas came to her rescue by standing in front of her. The smile on his face was as welcoming as ever before saying, "She is a little girl. You don't need to bother with her, Uncle."
Then, looking at Violet, he voiced out, "Go to the house."
Violet nodded instantly, feeling saved.
