I didn't like the queen's study. It was a random, completely pointless animosity, that wasn't based on any reason. I just didn't like it. I hadn't in either of my lifetimes.
It was an elegant enough affair, dark stained walnut desk, wide open windows, and a dark wooden floor, with a dark green carpet spread across it.
There was just something about it that dug under my skin.
Maybe you don't like green. I thought, knocking on her door.
"Who is it?" The queen asked through the wood. She sounded tired.
"Lukas, ma'am." I said.
"Good! Come in, Lukas!"
I opened the door, and entered the Queen's study.
Tila, the Sunrise of the kingdom, sat at her desk, buried in paperwork.
"You called?" I asked.
"Look at all this." She said, pointing at the towering stacks of paper on her desk. "I thought the council was supposed to take some of this pressure off me."
