Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Supervisor Topaz, Something's Wrong!

The commotion, combined with the recent loud noise, successfully disturbed a napping Godzilla.

"So noisy."

Opening his eyes, his vertical pupils, filled with lingering sleepiness, ignored everything else and locked onto the source of the landslide. Then, he glanced up at the sky.

"Rain, rain, rain… Are you trying to make me live in the ocean?"

Godzilla didn't dislike living in the ocean, but this rain had already soaked his new bedsheets (the minerals from Xianzhou was made into a layer by Godzilla)!

And they were brand-new!

------------------------------------

The mountains rise, yet he exudes no sense of oppression—for he himself is oppression!

As thunder crashes down, the pitch-black sky is torn open by a crack, revealing his fierce and domineering visage.

"Roar!" Godzilla's roar echoes through the heavens and earth, sending ripples across the accumulated water.

The earth-shaking roar pierces through the curtain of rain, reaching everyone's ears.

"What's wrong with that big guy?" Serval frowned, leaning against the window and watching Godzilla rise. After a moment, she suddenly noticed that Tingyun hadn't followed her. Turning her head, she saw Tingyun crouching on the ground, covering her ears with a grimace.

"Uh, what's wrong with you?"

"The sound, that sound just now, it hurt my ears! How come you… huh? Where did you get those headphones?"

Tingyun was still rubbing her ears, about to discuss with Serval why Godzilla was so enraged, when her gaze was drawn to the fluffy earmuffs on Serval's ears.

"Oh, these? That big guy roars every now and then, and since I'm so close, it's hard to bear without something to block the noise. Here, there are a few more in the box—see if you like any."

"…"

The matter of headphones could wait. Right now, the two were more concerned about why Godzilla had moved.

Just as Tingyun approached the window, a dazzling blue light illuminated the scene, climbing upward at lightning speed. She knew it was the glow of Godzilla's dorsal fins lighting up.

Fixing her gaze on the sky, she saw blue light seeping from Godzilla's mouth. The next second, Godzilla opened his jaws wide upon the land, and the gathered blue energy poured forth!

Countless people witnessed a pillar of blue light shooting into the sky. In the next instant, the thick clouds were blasted apart by a tremendous shockwave, and the intense heat evaporated every raindrop before it could fall. The residual waves made the ground tremble, and in the glow of the energy beam, all beheld a god glaring up at the storm.

The clouds were parted, revealing the sun!

With Godzilla at the center, golden sunlight cascaded down, sweeping away the former gloom.

The blue sky reappeared before the people's eyes, making it seem as though the dark, rainy night had been nothing but a shared dream.

Standing atop the radiant Gem Mountain, Godzilla was like a god incarnate.

"Hmph!" Godzilla snorted through his nostrils, flicking his thick tail with disdain.

"This is truly…" Yukong was at a loss for words. After a long pause, all that remained was: "As expected of Jarilo's god."

Influencing the weather was an effortless feat for the Xianzhou Luofu.

But they did so through technology, whereas controlling the weather by sheer force alone was no simple task.

To influence the weather without causing excessive chaos was yet another profound skill.

Yanqing's eyes gleamed as he stared at the spot where Godzilla had unleashed his breath.

His goal was to become the Sword Champion of the Luofu. Before that, he would set Godzilla as his target for challenge!

If he could defeat Godzilla, it would surely prove his swordsmanship had made tremendous progress!

Cocolia gazed devoutly in that direction, offering her faith.

The Preservation's Qlipoth might not necessarily save Jarilo-VI, but the Sky-Piercing beam had already delivered it from the cold. Only the most sincere faith could properly express reverence for such a deity.

Godzilla, oblivious to the magnitude of his actions, simply lounged lazily on the bed, basking in the sunlight streaming from above.

When there were no external disturbances, he always remained in this laid-back posture.

At ease and untroubled, making one yearn to be just like him.

Dressed in a maid outfit, Tingyun meticulously joined Serval in wiping away the rain traces on Godzilla's dorsal fins.

Godzilla could have easily vaporized those watermarks with a single internal radiation burst, but the comfort of the process made him patient, allowing him to savor every moment of life.

"I really can't believe this lazy big guy and the mighty god just now are the same." Tingyun wiped the sweat from her forehead and paused to catch her breath.

"Haha, that's why I like staying here. Being with this big guy puts me in a great mood." Serval leaned against the dorsal fin and chuckled.

Suddenly, she gestured at her own height compared to the dorsal fin, her eyes filled with doubt."Say, has this big guy grown again?"

"Has he?" Tingyun's eyes widened slightly as she tried to recall Godzilla's size when they first met.

It did seem like he had grown a bit.

"Hey, big guy, how about we measure you to see if you've grown?!" As Tingyun was still thinking, Serval had already clasped her hands together and shouted toward the Godzilla beneath them.

"Is that even possible?" Tingyun wondered.

Godzilla was also curious about his current size, so he nodded.

"He actually agreed!" Receiving a response, Serval jumped down from Godzilla's back and quickly ran into a small house.

After a short while, she dragged out a measuring tape that was half her height.

She had specially made it to record Godzilla's growth, ensuring accurate data.

"Here, you hold this end, and I'll pull it across."

Tingyun took the measuring tape and stood still, while Serval sprinted toward Godzilla's tail, dragging the tape behind her.

"Height: 206 meters. Tail length: 341 meters. Hiss~!"

After getting the measurements, both of them gasped.

A purely biological creature growing to this extent was simply a miracle of the world.

"Now I understand why the scholars in Belobog were dumbfounded when they saw him."

"Not just Belobog—even the scholars from Xianzhou were shocked and wanted to measure him themselves."

Of course, Cocolia and Yukong stopped them.

No one could guarantee that Godzilla wouldn't get angry because of it.

Suddenly, Serval had a terrifying thought.

"Do you think this big guy might still be in his juvenile stage?"

"Juvenile…"

Tingyun's rational mind told her that if a creature this massive wasn't considered an adult, then what would be?

But… thinking about how Godzilla was only a hundred meters tall when he first appeared and had now grown to two hundred meters, she fell silent.

Two hundred meters—Belobog's city walls weren't even that tall!

Just his weight alone could crush a spaceship's outer hull!

...

Interasteral Peace Corporation.

Upon learning that Xianzhou Luofu had dispatched a fleet to orbit Jarilo, everyone fell silent.

"A swarm of that scale shouldn't require Xianzhou to deploy such a high-level force. Are they really going all out just to pick someone up?"

Topaz stroked her ledger, unable to make sense of it.

But her investment experience told her that understanding the situation was crucial, and making key decisions at the right moment was just as important. If something on Jarilo was important enough to provoke Xianzhou's intervention, then as the planet's creditor, the Interasteral Peace Corporation couldn't afford to sit back and do nothing. Otherwise, it would be too late.

"Forget it, let's go check it out. Worst case, it's just a wasted trip."

With that thought, Topaz immediately decided to set out.

Even if Jarilo had nothing of value, the company could use this opportunity to recover its debts.

As for whether Jarilo could repay centuries' worth of accumulated interest...

Now that the planet was thriving, it could fetch a good price in the cosmos. The company never wasted resources.

"Supervisor Topaz! Bad news! A new swarm has appeared near Jarilo!"

"What?!"
