She had just been on the country side with her parents in Jeongseon-eup in Gangwon province. Where they had lived but now after being struck by a white light she had now been floating in the orange void.
She curled up in fetal position.
"I'm cole" she muttered.
She kept floating through the void silently looking around.
She flew around for far to way long by herself without even seeing anybody or anything around not even in the distance. At some point her brain went numb and shut off.
Deprived of all sensation and feeling simply seeing the flowing colors of a horizon and nothing else.
She floated aimlessly till once day? Was it a day? She doesn't know anymore it had been a while that's all she knew but something had woken her up from her "slumber". A boy had bumped into her in the void looking at about the same age maybe a bit older.
"Hello?"
The body did not respond for moment she had thought she came across a corpse but when checking the heartbeat it was completely fine and the body was warm.
She was so glad.
She could feel warmth.
She grabbed the jacket off the floating boy with black hair and brown skin and sat on his chest.
His body was as stiff as a board. Sure you could move it but it was more like a doll than a person. But it allowed her to sit on something so that was nice. She had the sensation of feeling something now, no longer simply floating in nothingness.
"I wonder if he'll ever wake up… I hope he does… it's so lonely out here…"
She looked at the boys face for a bit before staring back out in the desolate void and humming to herself a song she loved.
It was from a boy band she liked.
"Actually who knows if he even know Korean.. I guess my English is pretty alright… but… Damn it!"
She sat there floating.
'I kinda feel like a creep if I'm honest but I'd rather be with someone than none but if he wakes up with me…'
She got off the boy and decided to simply float beside him holding onto him as to not have him float away.
'I wonder if mom and dad are alright…'
As she floated she heard something.
"Humming?"
She couldint tell where it came from but it was a sweet voice.
As if it came from all and every direction.
'How soothing…'
Now she was beginning to see thing float and vanish and appear.
'Wait..l he might not even know English now that I think about it… aughh what if it's like Hindi or something! Gosh…'
She grabbed a book hat happened to float by.
It was an old looking book with Skeltons and murals of death on both sides of the black cover that seem to be gold covered.
When she opened the book it felt like she was experiencing something that shouldn't be possible but the best way she could describe it was
That she had just died.
She couldint even read the words on the page but she didn't have to.
Either way she understood that she shouldn't be reading this.
And so she threw it away before her brain exploded.
She felt a searing hot pain on the right side of her neck but it dissipated soon enough.
'God this place is awful, can't even read a book without feeling like all the air in your lungs has been ripped out.'
She no longer felt cold at the very least it seemed that as soon as the lullaby had began so she returned the jacket she stole from the boy.
'There you go.'
She grabbed a floating by unopened bottle of water and drank it.
It had been so long since she had drunk anything.
She drank greedily from the bottle till it was all gone but it did not satiate her thirst as it was like her body was frozen in time unable to change.
"Ughh.."
Though feeling the cold water go down her throat was still felt quite soothing.
'Well it's something I suppose'
As she thought and kept herself busy with these thoughts she started to wonder.
Wondering about before she came here, how she loved playing around with plants and gardening. How she would mix together medicinal herbs with her parents for some home remedies.
'Mhmm if I had some herbs I could make some hallucinogens atleast I won't be do damned bored then hehehe.'
She reminisced how she would learn how to mix herbs for remedies and different effects from a book she found, of course her parents also taught her.
'Strawflowers… yes that's my favorite flower. They are known as the everlasting flowers for a reason. They maintain their beautyaby forever even after death.'
The lullaby kept being hummed to her even though she was unable to feel sleepy it was annoying to say the least but to say the most, it was hell.
Floating aimlessly feeling nothing besides the random junk that floats by, unable to quench the thirst you have no matter what you do, unable to satiate the hunger you feel, unable to clean the grime you feel your body because yes after so long alone you definitely start feeling each and every crevice of your own body in fact you couldint even breath because there was no air but you would still live.
To her it was awful. The constant same hypnotic colors, the lullaby, the random object, it was as if they wanted to see what people would do in such a psychologically challenging scenario. As if it was some experiment but it wasn't which she quickly realized as a person had zipped by her flying at high speed. Far too fast for any conversation or even a word besides their screams.
'They were probably hit by something which gave them a ton of speed and since there's no air for resistance and no gravity… '
'I wonder how long they've been getting flung through the air.' She let out a half hearted chuckle at the thought.
But before she could think of the matter and further it was as if the space where she was floating to with the boy had turned into a fractured mirror.
She couldint do anything to stop it so they both passed through and as they did so the horizon colors of the void turned blue.
The same blue of a sky.
'Of thank god finally something different!'
Then she saw the sun.
"Huh?"
Then she felt the wind rush by her face and she flipped around holding the unconscious boy's hand tightly.
"Huahhh!?!"
She was falling through the sky down towards clouds and below these clouds would be land.
"FU-"
