Chapter 136 - 136. Family ties

The strange little group followed Kamu through the vast corridor of the Immortal Mist base to reach the room the ghost-man had mentioned. To their greatest surprise, however, unlike a few hours earlier, there was no one in the corridor this time. It seemed as if the entire place had emptied out and only the Athamana's team was there.

This didn't stop the boys from talking at all. In fact, they only started talking more than when they came in. Most of them were completely fascinated by the tale that told of Kamu's life and, as a result, the lives of Razvan and Etele. Well, it's not like the hegins of Madüjavr weren't already enchanted by the era itself. After all, the boys had all grown up listening to legends from the Great Athira's era from the elders of the tribes.

"Boys, I think I've come to think of a very important question!" Citar suddenly spoke in the middle of a conversation.

"What kind of question?" Kamu looked back at the Bolacsuk boy over his shoulder.

"Not from you." The boy waved. "Boss." He looked at Razvan, who returned his gaze suspiciously.

"Yes?" He finally asked.

"Did you really have a whole army of transparents who listened to you?" The Bolacsuk boy asked with sparkling eyes, as if expecting some secret.

"As a matter of fact." Razvan began, then squeezed his neck. "I had no idea they were transparents." He finally groaned, which made even Kamu look at him in surprise.

"Then what did you think they were?" Benkó also blurted out, with a nice little grimace on his face.

"An elite army from my first campaign. They appeared after the warlord before me had retired." Razvan shrugged, as if it were no big deal.

"You killed him, didn't you?" Rahul side-eyed the Zaukán boy.

"I don't deny it." The Athamana chief spread his arms.

"Did you really kill the great leader who was before you?" Benkó grunted.

"Yes. If you don't believe me, ask Master Mo what his people said about me. He was born not long after it all happened." The boy waved his hand.

"Of course, we're going to ask him." Achilleus announced, and Razvan's eyes widened.

"Damn it!" The former great leader said.

"What happened Tapló boss? Did you get sidetracked?" Rahul asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Master Mo will kill me." Razvan muttered, turning pale.

"Why?" Citar scratched his head in great confusion.

"Because he doesn't know the Athira part of my life." The boy looked to the side, as if he was afraid that the chán man might appear at any moment.

"Oh, you're done." Rahul said in a regretful voice, but there was such a grin on his face that even the idiot knew that the one who wore it didn't mean anything he said seriously.

"Thank you for feeling sorry." The head of the Athamanas sighed.

"You're welcome next time too, you know." Rahul shrugged, which made Etele start giggling too.

"You can't deny him, Svihák." Razvan muttered under his breath.

"Oh, I have no intention of denying knowing him." The ghost in question pulled himself up proudly. *I told you he's my favorite successor." He chuckled.

"He really does look a lot like you, dad." Kamu smiled, but suddenly stopped. "Wait..." He thought for a moment, then stood in front of Rahul with a grin. "I didn't realize this until now." He muttered. "If you're dad's grandson, then that can only mean one thing." He said it seriously.

"Kamu, what do you want with him?" Razvan took a half step closer to the pair, but the ghost-man didn't pay attention to his former general, but simply grinned and hugged Rahul.

"I have another nephew." Kamu was enthusiastic. "You hear that, brother, we have another nephew." The ghost-man chuckled, slowly letting Rahul away from him, then ruffling his hair. "Welcome to the family!" He patted him on the shoulder. "Neither of us are normal and ypur life is guaranteed to be in danger." Kamu pulled himself out, and Kele got behind him and hit him in the back of the head, which made the leader of the Immortal Mist shiver with cold.

"You're an idiot, bro." Kele rolled his ghost eyes. "But you're right, welcome to the family Rahul." He nodded towards the Chüvigh boy.

"Do you know what this means?" Suk's sudden question made everyone curiously turn towards the yellow-clothed hegin.

"Okay, let's get over it." Rahul sighed desperately, whose greatest desire at the moment was for everyone to leave him alone. "What does it mean?" He asked, which made the Zovárd boy pull himself out and put his hands on his hips.

"Tev and Rahul are cousins." Suk grinned like a cheschire cat. Upon hearing his words, the two mentioned immediately looked at each other and just blinked at each other for a few moments.

"There's something in it." Teveli finally smiled, and Rahul shook his head and walked over to the Tele boy, then holding his shoulders, he blew a kiss in the air on one side of Teveli's face, then on the other, and stepped away from the boy. "What was that?" Tev's eyes widened, of which the only consequence was that Rahul laughed.

"Mother said that's how you should greet relatives." The boy shrugged.

"I knew that woman wasn't sane!" Svihák shook his head. "That's why I liked her so much." He announced, then looked at Kamu. "So, where is that great hall you mentioned?" He asked with a wide smile on his face.

"This way." The ghost-man started again and now he had finally reached a door, which he opened to lead the group in. "Ah, just like always. Here you go, here, here. Feel free to choose a seat and make yourselves comfortable." He gestured towards the various couches, cushions, sofas and chairs, and he himself walked towards the ornate throne in the middle of the room, where he simply threw himself down, then put his feet on the footstool in front of the throne.

"Is that you in the middle?" Teveli asked, pointing to the middle figure in the portrait painted on the wall behind the throne. Kamu looked back, as if he was unaware of what was behind him, then turned back to his relative.

"Yes." He nodded.

"And who are the other two?" Citar asked, to which Kamu grinned wider than before.

"On the left..." He pointed to the corresponding figure in the painting behind him. "Well, that's that idiot ghost Teike." He announced.

"So he's the ghost king?" Kele asked, holding his chin, but not taking his ghost eyes off the painting.

"It must be him, it took a long time for them to paint him perfectly." Kamu chuckled.

"And who is the other one?" Suk looked suspiciously at the figure standing on the other side of Kamu in the painting.

"Him?" The ghost-man also looked at the figure. "He was my right hand." He smiled.

"Your right hand?" Suk asked back.

"Sure. We had been traveling together with General Csito's troops for some time when I met him. At first I didn't want to deal with him, but then he left me no other choice." Kamu delved into the world of his memories again.
