Katherine's POV
Jack's legs scaled over the ground as we walked into the hospital. He was fast that I found myself wheezing and panting for breath as I ran after him. I doubted he remembered that I was behind him. He didn't look back once to check if I was catching up with him.
That man was something else. I sighed and shook my head as I stopped to catch my breath. I stood still, placed my hands on my hips and breathed in and out slowly.
A nurse walked past me and stopped as she saw how I was laboring to breathe. "Are you okay?"
I wasn't okay.
I nodded. "Yes. I just need to pull in some oxygen into my lungs."
"You look like you are about to pass out." She offered.
I nodded, knowing she was right. I probably did because I felt like that.
She stepped forward, placed kind hands on my shoulder and pushed me backward. Before I knew what was happening, my butt kissed the solid surface of a chair and I breathed in relief, realizing that was what I needed.
