The runes glowed an ethereal blue light, the runes then disappeared after a few seconds. He suddenly felt his muscles tremble, his temperature rising and indescribable throbbing pain in his heart. A black sticky started oozing out of his pores. His bones shattered and reassembled themselves over and over again. Each passing second felt like an eternity.
He wanted to scream but he couldn't as his voice box was also being damaged as well. His internal organs were torn apart and reassembled over and over again spreading agonizing pain all over his body. His body wanted this agonizing pain to end but its wish wouldn't be granted anytime soon.
Blood started gushing out from his pores making the bed sheets crimson red. More and more blood gushed out of his body forming a river of blood in his room. After a few hours the pain slowly subsided and his injuries started healing up. He heaved a sigh of relief as he knew that using this technique could have potentially killed him. He got up from his bed and saw how much he had messed up the room.
He touched the pull of blood and spread his soul essence towards it and constructed a rune with skill and efficiency. He gave the rune a command to eradicate every single drop of blood and the black sticky substance. A brilliant white flashed in the entire room and removed all the blood and stains in the room.
He threw himself on the soft bed and sat down in a lotus position and started absorbing an energy totally different energy from Soul Essence.

In this universe there is also another energy known as spiritual energy. Spiritual energy and soul essence only differ because of how their used. Spiritual energy is mainly used in the construction of magic circles, runes, arrays and martial art skills whilst Soul Essence is used in the activation of various talents and strengthening the body.
Keith had used spiritual energy before but he only manipulated external spiritual mainly to create magic circles that boost the power of a talent. But creating a rune need the user to have a large supply of spiritual energy. Some of you might ask why he didn't absorb spiritual energy first instead of using the method of inscribing runes with his own blood. He wasn't sure if his body had a compatibility with spiritual energy.
Usually, awakeners can either awaken spiritual energy or soul essence. Those who awaken soul essence can never dream of awakening spiritual energy whilst those who awaken spiritual energy can never awaken soul essence. It only takes true genius born once every five hundred to be able to use both energies.
Awakeners who awaken soul essence are called soul fighters whilst those who awaken spiritual energy are called spiritual combatants. Keith was satisfied that he could now use both energies. In his past life he was only able to use soul essence but that didn't stop him from being a master runemaster whose name was known for his complex runes.
Now that he had spiritual energy in this life, he could surpass his former self in both strength and rune making skills. "Status" he muttered as a transparent blue panel appeared before his eyes.

After looking at his stats he decided to apply a few more runes on his body. He drew an agility rune on his left leg with his index finger skillfully and swiftly. The rune glowed with an ethereal blue light and the light slowly vanished.

As he was about to go to sleep, he noticed that it was already five o'clock in the morning. He got up from his bed and did a few stretches before he got out of his room and ran towards the nearest blacksmith shop. He ran for a few seconds and finally reached the place. The building looked like any normal blacksmith's shop that you would find in most fantasy novels. It was a small brick building with a sign that read, "Barney's Forges and Crafts".
At a glance most people would think that the space inside the building would small but Keith knew otherwise because he could sense the use of spatial runes. He guessed that the inside of the building would be three times bigger than the outside.
He opened the door and saw a fat man sleeping at the counter. He went up to the counter and the man woke up after feeling his presence.
"How may I help you, young man?" he asked in a cold but sincere tone.
"May please tell me the price of getting a weapon forged," he asked.
"It depends on the weapon you want."
"How much for a dagger?"
"A normal dagger who cost ten silver soul coins whilst a dagger made from soul beast body parts would cost you twenty silver soul coins," he answered.
Keith took out the tooth of snow wolf boss and gave them to the man. "When will I be expecting my dagger,"
"I will be able to finish making your dagger by the end of this week," the man said to him.
"See you then," Keith said as he exited the store."
