Chapter 40 - Chapter 40: Human Torpedo

Thunder roars, and the blue lightning bolt rushes from the tip of the wand to Anton, the bald guy.

Blaze thinks that this is going to be an easy fight solely on their crazy eccentricity.

He doesn't know why, but their behavior made him think they aren't even that strong.

But he is very, very wrong.

The blue lightning reaches Anton, and he lowers his head, aiming the smooth, bald surface of the top of his head toward the lightning.

And then Boom!

The lightning collapses onto the head. Its electricity dissipates into the surrounding area.

Anton's muscles constrict a little, but he quickly shakes it off like it was nothing.

Blaze frowns. The enemies are not as weak as he anticipated.

But no matter, more lightning bolts will solve any problem.

So he continues blasting.

Lightning bolts after lightning bolts strike at the guy.

Anton has no fear. He headbutts each and every single lightning bolt.

The blue electricity crashes on his skin and evaporates into the head like a lightning rod in the work.

"What the..."

Then, Hugo takes out a handgun. His hand turns into a blur, and he starts pulling the trigger without hesitation.

Each shot is aimed precisely at Blaze's several weak points.

Blaze shoots out the Grappling Hook, moving out of the way to dodge all the bullets.

He counterattacks Hugo and gives him a taste of lightning.

The two goons stand pretty close, so when the lightning bolt appears, Anton immediately steps in front of Hugo and uses his indestructible head to break the electricity power.

"You must be kidding..." Blaze mumbles.

His attack is purely stronger and much more devastating than the opponent's. But they have found a way to defend against him.

Blaze takes back his thoughts from before.

These two aren't weak like he thought. They are strong and deserve his total focus.

He was too naive to think that they were weak just because of their ridiculousness.

Blaze then takes out the Moonlight Karambit and holds it in his right hand.

Their attacks are only gunshots, a simple but effective move.

Blaze has not yet reached a level to disregard gunshots, and he would like to remove it from the equation.

Bury the room in darkness, and the gun should become completely useless.

"Darkness!"

A sphere of shadow spreads out from Blaze and covers the entire space of the capsule room.

Hugo reloads in the blink of an eye and starts shooting at Blaze's original position.

Unfortunately, there is only the sound of the bullet hitting concrete.

Hugo throws the gun away and takes out a dark piece of cloth.

Against Blaze's best judgment, Hugo put the cloth over his eyes.

Blaze thought he was going to activate some sort of power, not covering his own eyes.

"Watch over me."

Hugo says, climbing onto the back of Anton.

"Count on me, brother!"

Hugo reaches out to the back and takes out a steel machete.

The two run into the sphere of shadow.

Blaze really doesn't understand what they are doing. He is already fused with darkness and can no longer be located.

Blaze shoots the Grappling Hook on the ceiling and stays afloat.

Up here, he can have a much better observation of the entire room.

He aims the Destruction Wand toward the Ridiculous Two and charges the wand with Force Shocker.

Thanks to the Tattered Mask, Blaze can now charge the wand with ease without the worry that One With Shadow will be neutralized.

Anton's head seems perfectly fine dealing with the blue lightning, so Blaze wants to test the white lightning, his second most destructive attack, against Anton's power.

His most destructive attack is, of course, Sundown, which is still in cooldown for now.

From the other perspective, a faint blue light is gleaming on the top of the room.

Darkness prohibited Anton's and Hugo's vision, so they cannot see the light.

Bad guys also never look up.

Blaze charges for a while until the wand can no longer hold any more energy. He tries to focus the attack on a small area to avoid causing further destruction.

And then the room lit up in total white. Darkness almost seems like it is cancelled by this intense light.

The white lightning bolt screams, rushing to the back of Hugo.

Surrounding it are countless smaller blue electricity.

It reaches the two of them quicker than the blink of an eye. The sound of thunder hasn't even emitted yet.

But Hugo can feel it. He places the machete in his hand just in time between him and lightning.

Blaze smirks.

A mere weapon is not going to save you.

Hugo's and Anton's bodies suddenly get covered in a white outline.

The tip of the lightning bolt touches the machete and gets separated into several smaller energy flashes.

"What the?"

Blaze blurts out, his voice echoes in the room, and it's hard to pinpoint his exact location.

Anton suddenly moves extremely fast. His muscle is getting pulled by an invisible force.

Anton's head is now facing the giant white thunderbolt that is still smashing itself upon them.

Hugo's body fades and turns into three flying white energy balls.

They rotate around Anton's body like stars orbiting around the sun.

Anton slams his head on the rest of the lighting.

It pushes him back to the wall and engraves a human-shaped hole for him to be buried in.

But that is not the end of Anton. He headbutts the lightning bolt one more time, and this time, its power gives out and it dissipates.

Blaze really doesn't know how to react.

I can't underestimate B-rank Awakeners.

He thinks.

According to William, Hugo has Super Reflex and Anton has Iron Head.

But those energy balls orbiting around Anton are definitely not reflex or a hard head.

They have more powers than William knows. And this power can even be used in combination.

Anton looks around the room. Still unable to locate Blaze's position.

This is bad for him, as he isn't sure that he can withstand the attack forever. He can take it for a long time, but standing still to be a living target is a stupid decision.

Anton spreads his arms to the side and lifts one of his legs up.

His entire body begins to spin and quickly reaches an insane speed.

Anton's entire body becomes a blur, and only his shiny bald head is visible at the top.

"Human Torpedo!"

Blaze hears the both of them scream.

And then Anton, as the new human missile, begins to dart around the room, looking for Blaze's position.

Anton's head destroys everything it touches.

All the furniture gets wrecked into pieces. They even slam on one of the capsules, causing the glass to be cracked.

The capsule is built of an unknown durable material. If not for that, the entire glass case must have broken.

Anton moves away from that position and continues attacking the room aimlessly.

Blaze's face hardens, letting the two continue their rampage will cause harm to Alyson eventually.

He needs to end this quickly.
