A low growl echoed through the church.
Areeba and Rehan spun around.
The dogs were watching them. Dozens of them.
Their eyes glowed yellow.
Then, behind them, the shadows shifted.
Ghostly figures appeared—men, women, children. Their faces filled with sorrow.
Areeba took a step back. "Who are they?"
A voice whispered:
"The ones who never escaped."
