As Azriel walked along the road, he marvelled at the fact that he had literally died and 'isekaied'.
He clenched his fists when he remembered the confrontation he had just faced which further made to understand that all of this was not a dream but he had truly transmigrated.
"I am Azriel Noire Necroline, that's who I am from now on" He said to himself and he felt his soul fully fuse together due to his acceptance.
As if to confirm it, the system prompt sounded in his head.
[Host has fully assimilated his two souls, some distant memories of this world's soul would be given, do you wish to receive them?]
Azriel confirmed.
[Due this world's soul being your other half, there would no pain, so host can be rest assured, you just need to find a safe place to receive the memories, as host would not be vulnerable during memory receiving]
Azriel rose an eyebrow and vaguely understood what the system had just said, "guess I'll have to get home first"
Few minutes later, he reached his apartment which is located on the second floor of a terrace building. Inputting his lock pin, he opened the door and walked in.
It was just a simple apartment, made up of the kitchen, the living room, two bedrooms with the restroom in between.
The living room had two sofas and a tatami and there was VR pod at the corner, there was a huge sliding door which led to the balcony, but it was closed now with the curtains.
The kitchen was just at the corner separating it from the living room was just a small like fence with a two person dining table beside it, therefore whether you're in the kitchen or in the living room you can still see the other side.
"There's no difference, it's just the same" Azriel was amazed, cos it was just like the normal apartment back on earth.
[Do you want to receive the memories now?]
The system's voice pulled him out of his reverie, he locked the entrance door, took off his shoes and walked towards the tatami and laid on it. Then he relayed his confirmation to the system.
[Integrating this world's memories 10%....20%...]
Azriel heard those words as his vision darkened and he lost consciousness.
Three hours later, Azriel groaned as he opened his eyes but his eyes did not carry the same curiosity about the world as before.
[Memory integration complete]
Ignoring the system's prompt in his head, he tried to understand what had happened. He had received the memories of his former life and the memories of this life.
They were one and the same except for the fact that he had been involved in a ritual to summon a devil god by some fanatics, except that it failed after the ritual was interrupted as El had come to save him but his soul had split into two, one had remained here and the other had flown through the infinite cosmos and landed on earth, in the body of a dead orphan child that had been kept in front of an orphanage.
What happened after then he knew very well, so he decided to focus on this life's memories, they were pitiful, from the fact that he had half a soul and his family knew that, they still put him through gruesome training where he most times had almost died.
Then came his first awakening ceremony when he was fifteen years old, he didn't awaken, the disappointment from his parents pained him and it further made him detached when he was disowned.
"Just because I could not awaken?...was that not too much, despite knowing I was just half a soul?" Azriel muttered as he frowned, the hatred he had for El increased, but it was not as enough as the one he had for his half brother, Kael.
His mother had died while giving birth to him, three years later, his father came back with a pregnant woman claiming her to be his step mother, but she treated him like her own son. Azriel had felt that despite his weakened body, the world was not that bad, until his half brother was born.
Azriel was 15 years old while Kael was 13 years old, they were both playing around in the courtyard when Azriel mistakenly fell into the pool, Kael helped him out and flashed him a smile before falling into the pool himself and screaming for Azriel to help him.
Azriel was stunned by what happened before he was shoved aside by the maids and his parents came rushing, Kael twisted the whole thing and said Azriel had pushed him into the pool. Without listening to his side of the story, the maids began to mock him behind his back, his father began to alienate him and only taught Kael.
Azriel became the black sheep, aside from his step mother and the butler that treated him well. Kael kept tricking and his image got worse, so he just accepted it.
Remembering all this made Azriel furious before a glint flashed through his eyes.
"El Ragnar, I'll show you how regretful your choice had been!" Azriel said with conviction.
His thoughts were halted by his apartment door being unlocked and opened up as a white haired girl walked in.
She locked the door and turned around, she dropped the grocery bags in the kitchen seeming not to have noticed Azriel.
As if feeling a gaze on her, she looked towards where the gaze came from and saw a silhouette in the dim-lit room staring at her with bright red pupils.
"Aaah!!" She pointed her palm in it's direction as a green magic circle appeared in front of her palm and a compressed ball of air shot out.
"Shit!" Azriel cursed as the ball slammed into him and he was sent flying into the wall, he groaned as he collapsed to the floor.
"Luna Stormwolf, I curse you....AAAARRGGH!!" Azriel managed to swear as he lost consciousness from pain.
"Eek...is that Azriel?"
