George felt wronged and utterly disrespected.
Why would Lexis tolerate such an insult? Allowing a woman- A woman to say all sorts of unbelievable things about him?
Was he really Lexis Woodsman, his misogynist ? He questioned bitterly in his heart.
Wait, she even described them as criminals.
She was really seeking death.
Could she be the woman Lexis told him about this morning?
"But I need to give you both a piece of advice. Don't commit such a crime again. Impersonation is a very bad crime, you know."
Lexis chuckled at her innocent, oblivious advice.
No matter what he would say or do, she wouldn't believe he was Mr Lexis, even if he showed her the most expensive estate or car.
George pursed his lips, annoyance evident in his face.
Was Lexis thinking when he married a sharp-mouth woman? No doubt, she was pretty, very pretty, with the glowing and dazzling green eyes and luminous, long black curly hair and that one- sided dimple that would appear each time she smiled.
But hell no, she was a woman who could easily jump into conclusion without evidence.
Pulling a box from beneath the car seat,Lexis gave it to Sabrina, who took it with a dazed face.
"What's this for?" She furrowed her brows at the small, red rectangular box.
"Your wedding gift." He smiled at her confused expression and explained further;
"We got married today. Of course it's my duty to gift you a present."
Sabrina's mouth formed an 'O' as she unlocked the box.
It was a necklace; A necklace with purple heart-shaped pendant. The crystal was glittering so dazzlingly, and she was marvelled by it.
"Wow! Isn't this the generational necklace that belonged to the Woodsman?" She asked, inspecting it.
George nodded his head in satisfaction, pleased with her smartness.
It was the generational necklace of Mrs Bridget, Lexis' mother which was passed down to her by Lexis' grandmother, Mrs Thea. It was normally passed down from the madams of the Woodsman family to the first future daughters-in-law. But madam Bridget had given the necklace to Lexis so he could fell pressured to get married.
She did have someone in mind for Lexis; the young Miss of the Solomon's family, Emily Solomon.
She was Lexis childhood friend who was head over heels with him, but Lexis merely treated her as his younger sister.
Lexis pinched his brows, "Yesh, you got it right. It's the generational necklace of the Woodsman's."
"A fake one." She corrected, "It's impossible for a common thief like you to steal such a valuable jewel. This is fake. Although, from my observation, it seems real, but I doubt."
Lexis stared at her, speechless. His wife was just too stubborn to believe him.
George nearly burst into laugh, but one glare from his master made the urge to die down.
"Take us to the mansion, George."
Sabrina whipped her head towards him at his command, "Which mansion?"
"My mansion?" He replied her like she was stupid.
"You have a mansion?" He nodded his head.
Sabrina frowned. What kind of wealthy thief was he? Driving a Rolls Royce and having a mansion? Or was he some mafia she does read about in stories?
"Why are we going to your mansion then?"
She felt weird. He couldn't possibly mean they should live together as husband and wife right?
"Aren't we married?" He asked. Sabrina clipped her mouth shut.
——
A halt from the car brought Sabrina's senses back to the present.
Lexis opened the door and ushered her out.
The moment she stepped down from the car, she was strickened by the beauty of the breathtaking, luxurious mansion infront of her.
The black gate was beautiful, with waterfalls and garden filled with flowers-the hibiscus, roses, carnations, tulips and daisies— but her favourite was the carnations flowers.
The mansion had some portions painted black and the rest were white.
"Do you like it?" Lexis could see she was stunned.
"I like it, but, would it be rude of me to ask my husband what his source of income is? A you some skilled thief or mafia?" She asked as she fixated her green eyes on him, but he simply shrugged and said, "The both."
Sabrina pursed her lips and didn't push further.
Lexis sent George to run some tasks at the company, while he guarded Sabrina inside the mansion.
Surprisingly to Sabrina, there was only one butleress and no maid.
"Welcome, young master." The middle aged woman greeted Lexis, in turn hummed and gave out an instruction.
He then led Sabrina to a master's room.
"Go and take a bath, you might be tired." He said, while she glanced around the room with unease.
"What about my stuffs?"
Lexis faced her, "Pardon?"
"My clothes, bags, makeups, underwears and so on. My stuffs that I left behind."
"I'll get my men to get them."
"Okay." She replied, yet she still remain rooted in where she stood, as Lexis lied om the bed, unbothered.
Lexis arched his brows, "What are you waiting for?"
She wanted to ask him why he was still in the room when she needed to bathe, but she realised it wasn't her room.
Rather, it belonged to her husband .
She sighed tiredly before making her way to the restroom.
After some moments, she walked out completely freshened up, with a towel wrapped tightly around her body.
The room was eerily quiet, and , for a second, she was happy that perhaps, Lexis had left.
However, when she sighted a half naked man on the bed, she let out a scream.
"What, what are you doing? Go and put on some shirt!" She covered her eyes, her cheeks burning at the thought of the tanned chest she has just seen.
Lexis bit back a laugh, getting up from the bed and walking shamelessly towards her.
"Are you shy? To see your husband's chest?"
"Put some shirt on for Christ's sake!"
"What if I don't ?" He teased with amusement in his raven eyes.
"I won't open my eyes!"
"Really?" Sabrina could sense the mischievous tone in his voice.
"Yes-Argh!."
Lexis pulled her onto the bed, causing her to yelp and she opened her eyes in fright. Out of fear, she placed her hands on his sturdy, hard chest.
