Vivianne dressed up to attend her grandmother's final wake today; she didn't go yesterday because she was feeling unwell and couldn't understand the nightmares she saw whenever she closed her eyes.
She let out a sigh because her sister Tashia always told stories; she didn't want to interfere in the relationship Sharlene had entered into. But she didn't want to carry the burden of her conscience if she always kept her mouth shut about what she noticed in her husband and even in her so-called friend Sheila.
Her sibling left earlier because Tashia was going to help at home, and besides, it didn't come home last night because it stayed there to rest. She looked at herself in the mirror, wearing only a white shirt and pants for a simple look, tied her hair, and then left.
She felt like someone was following her, so she just glanced back, but Vivianne didn't see anything unusual. Therefore, she continued walking, quietly waiting for a ride, hesitating whether to go to the church first.
I need to make it up to them. She just thought to himself, so she stayed at home and joined in the ride to the church to attend the mass. Vivianne immediately hailed a vehicle then.
The trip was quick because there weren't many people boarding, so she arrived at her destination immediately. She paid right away, and before she could even get out of the vehicle, she was met with a look that raised his eyebrows.
She didn't say a word – she just passed by and cleared her throat to catch the attention of the two. She even noticed that they were surprised by her action. Vivianne just stared at them and, without saying a word, walked inside. She saw that there were many people at Sharlene's house.
Vivianne immediately saw Sharlene and Ashley, who was just being carried. She was standing at a distance, watching, and waiting to see how she could help Sharlene.
Of course, there is a price to pay. Vivianne could only say it in his mind.
She noticed Tashia, so she approached her sister.
"Good thing you made it." That's all she heard from her younger sister.
She just nodded, "What can I do to help?" she asked.
She didn't answer, everything was ready, and the ceremony to send their grandmother to her final resting place was about to begin.
They finally reached the church, and she didn't expect so many people to show up. She sat in the corner, noticing someone who had caught her attention before.
A woman wearing mourning clothes, Vivianne was even more startled by her unusual smile that seemed to foreshadow a bad omen. She was getting goosebumps all over her body. That's why she started to stroke her arms, her hair standing on end.
She was trying to ignore what she saw; she just felt her sister tap him back then.
"Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost." Asked Tashia.
Tashia sat beside her.
"Tash," she called softly to her companion.
Tashia just looked at her, waiting to see if she would say anything more. "I see it again."
Tashia furrowed her brow and looked at her meaningfully.
"Did I tell you about the dream I had of a woman in mourning clothes?" she asked her sister "She's here," she added while her hand trembling in fear.
"Sister, we are all wearing mourning clothes."
"Tashia, she was wearing – black." She looked again at where she had seen the woman in mourning. Suddenly, it disappeared from her sight, so she scanned her surroundings to find her.
"Sister." Tashia just sighed.
She gasped when she realized that Tashia was beside her, the woman she had seen earlier. She caught a glimpse of her face; she was smiling at her in a strange way.
Shh, don't make any noise. Putting her hand in her lips, she didn't say anything, Vivianne lost her will to speak.
Its personality is shrouded in mystery, its face beautiful, yet it is filled with wounds – it stands holding a bunch of wilted roses.
I'm just here to offer my condolences to your grandmother. She even smiled at her.
She couldn't speak then, because she knew she wasn't talking to a person but to a wandering soul. She even saw it stand up, and she also noticed that the coffin was being taken out of the church and would be brought to the cemetery.
The woman suddenly disappeared from her sight, sosdhe blinked repeatedly.
Someone was shaking her, so her attention was caught. She was sitting there next to Tashia.
"Sis, don't push yourself, you need to rest." That's all she heard from Tashia, full of concern.
"What happened to me?" She could only ask because she was confused.
"I've been talking to you for a while, you're staring into space." Tashia just sighed.
"H --- Huh?" Talking –" that was interrupted when people started coming out of the church.
She just shook his head.
"Let's go." was all Tashia said.
Vivianne just nodded then. They also got into the vehicle, driving slowly because they were transporting the dead, and this is a culture that is not easily broken.
They were already at the cemetery. She witnessed many tears falling at the death of their grandmother; she was also sad, even though she wasn't close to her, she was good to them.
Lola, she looked at the coffin, the woman she saw before was there again, quietly watching the people gathered around it. She placed the wilted rose and left. It walks through the air, leaving a trace of thick mud mixed with blood.
She could only swallow at what she saw. She felt like it was looking at her, and suddenly her body felt heavy as if she were about to catch the flu. But she finished it. They went back home after the funeral.
In front of her was Sharlene, wearing a white dress, still not dressed, her appearance still sad. She was carrying Ashley, who had fallen asleep from exhaustion and crying because she no longer had a grandmother to call her own.
Sharlene handed her an envelope. She smiled at him, and before she could accept it, Sharlene cradled the baby in her arms.
"Just tell me if you need anything, Vivianne." Sharlene said softly, smiling at her.
She didn't count the money inside the envelope, Tashia was also given an envelope.
"Thank you very much." That's all she said to them.
She just nodded. Her body was heavy, and she needed to rest.
"I'm leaving now." Vivianne said goodbye to her companion.
Sharlene just nodded, and Tashia joined her because she was also tired of what they were dealing with right now.
They were walking away when she looked at Sharlene, almost she wants to shout when she saw a woman smiling at them, gently stroking Ashley's hair, so she quickly averted her gaze and continued walking in silence.
