Chapter 54 - CHAPTER FIFTY-THREE

Someone pinched Leah, so she looked at the child who was staring at her and just sighed.

She needed to get out of here. Leah thought to herself. She took the child out of the cage. But she returned it immediately when he felt something was off.

Not now. She thought to herself.

"Ashley," she called out to her. The child turned to look at her. "Can you travel?" she suddenly asked the child.

"Travel?" the child asked, confused.

Leah just sighed, wondering how she could explain to the child what she wanted to convey. There was a pair of eyes looking at her, so she turned around. It was one of her other selves.

"I can give that to him." She just said it to her. She didn't answer her. She is thinking.

"Bring Ashley's mind when I get out of here; I just need to check something." Leah immediately walked into the endless darkness.

One of her other selves followed him, and she was surprised to find that the mind of the child it carried had been given a form, as if Ashley were truly with them now. She stared at one of her other selves.

"Can Ashley distance herself from her true self?" she asked her.

"I didn't try, but she can talk to Vivianne." She furrowed her brow.

"Are you accompanying her?" she asked.

It only shook its head at her.

"I'm just guiding Ashley on how to use it. Do the people there know that?" The other self shook her head again at her.

"Ashley, can you call Vivianne here?" she asked.

The child only nodded in response.

"Ashley." There was a voice she recognized.

"Aunt Vivianne."

She startled her, and when she signaled for one of her identities to leave, it immediately vanished like a bubble. Vivianne stared at her and the child.

"Are you letting Ashley go?" was the only question she asked her.

"You can talk to her sometimes because only you can free my mind right now.

"Mind?" Vivianne could only ask her.

She just sighed before Leah explained it to Vivianne.

"Before Sharlene learns everything about her true self, the child will be free." She said to her.

"Sharlene is your niece." Vivianne simply said it to Leah.

"I am not related to her by blood; she is related by blood to my excellent husband."

It didn't answer her.

"Leah, you will also receive a proper burial."

She laughed. "I don't care if I get a proper burial."

"I will take my three captive souls wherever I go; they cannot escape from me." Leah uttered these words, her anger rekindling in her heart.

"Don't you ever get tired of what you're doing, Leah?" Vivianne asked her.

"Tired?" Leah only smirked.

"I'm not going to get tired. Hasn't it sunk into your mind what your grandmother did to me?" She asked Vivianne.

"Not just your grandmother, but also the two people I completely trusted when I was still alive." She said.

"I know that our grandmother has many sins against you because of the money and wealth exposed by the Santiago clan, as well as against you. We are just ordinary people living in this world, Leah."

"I know that there's no forgiveness for that, but it's tiring to carry it to your grave." Vivianne said to her.

"I wonder what Sharlene will feel when her memory returns? Will she still be Sharlene?" Leah asked Vivianne curiously to listen to her.

"She will still be my mom," Ashley suddenly replied to them with a smile.

"Mom won't change; I know that."

They were unable to speak, merely staring at the child.

"Ashley." Vivianne only muttered.

"I'll come back here; just call Aunt Vivianne, and then I'll return." Vivianne promised to Ashley.

He didn't speak then; Vivianne looked at him.

"I will find a way, I will find a way, Leah. I would rather not regret gaining this last chance that I didn't help you back then." Leah heard her Vivianne promised her once again.

She just sighed.

"Don't make promises, Vivianne." That's all Leah said.

"I won't let you down." Vivianne's eyes are really determined while looking at Leah.

She just raised her eyebrow at what she heard.

Take the child to your world for now to see if he can distance himself from his imprisoned self." She explained to Vivianne the child's current situation.

"I'll go with you." Vivianne couldn't help but say.

She just stared at it. "Follow me if you want."

Leah was visiting her child again at the old mansion; Vivianne was just following her.

Vivianne surprised her by placing a flower in front of her. She didn't say a word.

"You have too many memories here, Leah." That's all she heard from Vivianne.

"What memories?" She could only mockingly ask her companion.

"Happy and bittersweet." Vivianne could only say it to her while looking at the old mansion.

She just She smiled at her companion and left. She went to the secret basement where her husband had aborted the baby she was carrying.

"Have mercy, have mercy; the child has nothing to do with this." She was pleading with Manuel.

"Manuel, you know that a girl is a bad omen for our family, especially since she is your firstborn. Have her aborted, Leah. This is also for you." She heard an elderly man say.

Leah closed her eyes; she would rather not remember that. She could only see the blood pouring out of her womb, powerless to stop it, even though the baby's flesh had already matured seven months earlier.

She just screamed then.

"It's really tragic." Vivianne, who has seen the past herself, commented.

She noticed that the child could no longer move away.

Leah held the child, and they were pulled back into the darkness. Vivianne still followed her.

"You need to leave too; your body can't take it anymore." She even told Vivianne.

Suddenly, it disappeared from her sight, and her second persona came to life.

"Return the child now."

It didn't say anything, but it followed her. Leah is the only one traveling in the darkness.

Aren't you tired? She etched Vivianne's question in her mind.

Anger is eternal, so I have no right to tire. She could only say it in her mind.

The capricious world awakened her desire for revenge against those who oppressed her family. Leah is waiting for the opportunity, and this is her chance to make her anger felt.

Leah shouldn't feel pity for anyone, but it always crosses her mind that she shouldn't have involved the innocent ones who weren't part of the mess they got into.

Leah saw Carmela again, traveling, tears falling, searching for her child, her husband following her.

She was a victim of her clan and family, a place where favoritism reigns. She would only shake her head at what he was thinking now. But

I know they will find peace when they remember the true nature of their missing child. She could only say it in her mind.

When will I see my child, whom I killed in my womb, again? She could only ask herself.

You won't be able to see it again, as it met its demise while still a baby. Her mind replied, and she just laughed at what she was thinking now.
